This little clinic is the best kept secret in the metro for primary care!!!!! My family has received nothing but phenomenal, compassionate, and deeply excellent medical care here - we've had wonderful experiences with Dr. Macdonald, Dr. Golden, and Dr. Nelson - and have switched several friends and family to receive care here. I really feel like the staff (everyone from reception to nurses to the docs) cares deeply for you as a patient and finding the best outcome that you feel comfortable with (not the kind of experience you'd have at a Fairview or a HealthPartners). They are super accessible and have urgent appointments if you need, there is always a doctor on call 24/7, and we've never had an issue getting in. I had been with this clinic for 18 and it was a functiona, small, STABLE, clinic. They are awful now. They no longer have a billing person in house. They use some sketchy person from somewhere in her basement now. She never returns calls either. They use to have 5 very experienced doctors for the first 15 years I was there. Then Dr Nelson went part time to golf and play footsie with Fairview corporate. ALL the rest of the stable doctors all quit or retired. I was forced to change doctors 3 times the last 2 1/2 years. The facility now has 2 PAs, which isn't a huge thing but you now have 1.5 doctors running 2 PAs. And both PA quit after several months. And the one full time doctor slot changes every 18 months. So you have 1/2 a physician with more than 10 years experience. The nurses rock though and total angels. After 18 years it made it hard for me to switch clinics but I CANNOT bear their incompetence any longer. Avoid this clic and just find another Fairview Clinic because RMG is a Fairview offshoot anyway. AVOID at all costs. read more

First time here, and it was a pleasant experience. My doctor was kind and efficient. My appointment was fit in last minute due to the severity of what was going on. The waiting room is large for such a small building, equipped with the familiar large aquarium with lots of fun fish. I didn't have to wait long as the nurse came to grab me just a few minutes past the appointment time. My only reason for not having 5 stars, the decor is a little shabby and outdated, which I know doesn't matter much considering its a doctors office. Sprucing up the place with up to date decor may enhance a guest experience, but again as long as the care that I am receiving is good, I'm good :) It is also convenient they have a 10+ spot little parking lot, and there is no interference with the building going up next to it. After Dr. David Brockway retired, I transitioned to Dr. Nelson and he is just as professional and personable. I feel like they are competent and care about their patients. First, I must say that I have been very pleased with my doctor at Richfield Medical, Kevin Nelson. He genuinely seems to care about his patients, and has a personality suited to helping people. With that said, I also must state this office needs to improve their appointment management. I have only been here a handful of times, but not once has my appointment started when it was scheduled. Take earlier this week for example. I scheduled a 4:30pm appointment (with another doctor) due to some strange pain I was experiencing. I left work early to make the appointment, sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes, and was only brought back when I asked about the delay. Then I awaited the doctor a further 15 minutes after the nurse took my blood pressure. At that point this doctor (who seems nice enough) spent less than five minutes before he was stumped and gave me a referral to a specialist. Later that evening, my mother simply figured out my ailment using Google and WebMD. I think next time I'll save the time and money and just consult Dr. Mom! read more

I was going Richfield Medical Group since from 1997. I never write any reviews. But I have a bed experience with dr Kevin Nelson. And with Business office clerk name Brianna & manager Nate. Whenever I was going for my yearly medical checkup I was getting charged for that all the visits. Insurance are covering 100% once in a year. But doctor was putting different codes for getting money. When I was calling them about charges business office clerk name Brianna was saying you have to pay and also saying Dr Nelson wants you to be pay & you no need to come to the clinic. I told why you are telling me not to come? (She cannot talk with the clinic patients like this). I complained about her to the manager Nate. He did not take any action against my complaint. Last time this year when I did my yearly physical, I got a bill from Dr. Kevin Nelson that was $416. I called my insurance company they told me that they never saw the charges like this for yearly physicals. Dr put different codes. His charged was including for my vaccine for which he told me to take at the time of the physical which is covered by insurance 100%. We have to call them if we have any questions about the wrong charges. Business Office clerk Brianna again told me not to come to the clinic. And Dr. Kevin Nelson also sends me a letter to not to come to the clinic no more. Find different providers outside the Richfield medical group. Dr supposed to treat patients with diabetes, BP, cholesterol. I have a very bed experience with Richfield medical group Dr and business office. read more

My family has been receiving excellent medical from RMG for the past 30 years. All of the physicians are good, but in my opinion their top physician is Dr. James Laroy. I must also add that each doctor has his or her own nurse who takes calls from concerned patients who aren't sure whether or not they need to see their physician or who have a question about a medication, etc. Whenever I have had to leave a message with my physician's nurse, she has always called me back by the end of the business day with just the information I need. read more

I love all the staff at Richfield Medical Group. I have had nothing but excellent care, compassion and attention to detail for over the last 23 years. I do not hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone. That said-be prepared that your scheduled appointment may start later than planned. Some people will complain about this as we are always in a rush and have somewhere we have to be-even if sick. The very reason for their longer wait time IS because they don't rush YOU out in 5-15 minutes like other clinics. Each one of these doctors listens to your issues and works from there. Who hasn't had some other health concern that you had going on that you forgot about that you remembered only after you were rushed out of a doctor's office? Because these doctors really listen to you and discuss your health concerns with you in your visit, if new issues come up- they don't say- we don't have time for that make another appointment- they address it right then and there if it is at all possible. If I have several health issues to address or talk about, I tell the scheduler that I need a longer appointment when I make the appointment. Some of their delays are people who did not ask for a long enough appointment time. Another thing I love about this clinic is if you are in a health crisis but not an emergency room issue, they find a way to get you in as soon as possible, often the same day or if they think you need er out of their scope-they say go to the hospital. I have complex health issues and see a lot of specialists- if I call to say I need to see my Richfield Medical doctor, they know my history and they know I need to be seen asap because I can have complications if I have to wait. The nurses are great at getting information to the doctor if you have questions and returning your calls. The doctors work with your other doctors, both sharing your health information and tests results, but also making sure they get outside test results and comments to add to your patient history to have a full picture of your health. I just can't say how much I love this clinic. A few years ago, they even made a Consumer's Report list of top medical groups by state and they did not even know they had made it!
