Dena Electric explained the pricing for an issue like mine (flat rate, no matter how long the issue took to resolve - or no payment if he was unable to find and fix it), and got to work quickly. He explained his findings along the way and was able to find a couple problems. I was impressed by his professionalism and communication, and the price was very fair as well for two hours of work. This is a follow up on my initial review of Electrical Connections in Gaithersburg Md. The team led…read moreby Dan B., was phenomenal. They completed the outdated, not up to code, electrical wiring in our home. They did it with care, dedication, responsiveness, knowledge and clearly years of experience. They worked tirelessly for hours to repair and install a new circuit box, that included installing a new electrical box outside, checking each room's electricity to label all the breakers, and and the work will recieve a final inspection in the next few days. I am so please that we hired this company and had this team of professionals do this job in our home. My husband and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good electrical company.

I welcomed into my home Abby and Jorge from Electrical Connections. They were a dream team for me…read more From the moment they came in they explained to me the work that would be done, and showed me the light fixtures they would install. They patiently answered all of my questions. I felt involved at every stage in the process. They showed me the work once it was done, and made sure not to leave until we had plugged back in everything inside the house and made sure it had all come back. It was a masterclass in customer care. What do I mean by this? I had asked that the breakers in my box be identified with which part of my home they turned on/off. We bought the house as a flip and my home inspector missed that almost nothing in my breaker box was properly identified to a part of my home. Abby did this-using a labeller. I can easily identify what is linked to which part of the house. No having to guess a person's handwriting. It is such a relief to open the panel and immediately know what connects to where. And she carefully walked me through-twice-the newly identified breaker labels. When Abby set up motion sensor lights for the room where I have my furnace to replace bulbs operated with pull chords, she asked me first which setting I wanted the sensors on before installing them. Plus she left me the instruction manuals. She did not need to do this. she went the extra step. Jorge did a beautiful job in my laundry room and where once I had a hanging by a wire, ready to fall light fixture that never gave out that much light to begin with, I now have a bright LED light under which even the smallest stain will stand out for me to apply some shout prior to it going into the washing machine. Every step of the way their individual professional know how was on display. They treated my home as if it were their home. And that is the feeling all of us as homeowners want to be left with.

I used the good reviews here to hire him. Boy what a mistake. He started in April and by August…read morewas still not done with what should have taken less than a week to do. I had a Fairfax County inspector come in to see what had been done so far. It failed. The inspector asked if I was sure the person who did the work had been licensed. Some places he had used too small a cable, other cables went back and forth between boxes, and in some places he'd put three lines where only two should go. I hired a new company and they also asked if a licensed electrician had done the work they were so incredulous. It's cost me almost $5,000 to redo the poor work City Lights had done. And then I found out that when he pulled our meter in April he had put it back in UPSIDE DOWN. We have an old meter so it will let power flow while upside down but will not register any use. As a result Dominion thought we were trying to steal electricity and pulled the meter without warning. It took me hours of phone calls, the intervention of our new electricians, and $1500 in cash to get our meter restored. Of course that left a black mark on our credit report. This was to date the single worst experience I'd even had with a contractor. And yes, I have photos and documentation.
