Shawarma Wrap - Beef & Lamb Gyro Meat, Cucumber, Tomato, Spring Mix, Onion and Hummus
Mike L.

You know, even though I was never a regular here, and that my last visit came long before COVID ever became a thing, I was actually pretty happy to see SF Wraps still alive and kicking. Not only that, though, but that they still maintain their late night hours as well. Because, if I'm being honest, most of the times I came here were driven more by the time of night than for the food itself. Not to say that the food here was bad, though there does seem to be a correlation between level of sobriety and how good food tastes... In the years since my first time trying SF Wraps, not much seems to have changed, for better worse. There are still a handful of tables, the decor is about the same, and the menu looks all too familiar. While their range of offerings isn't super wide (wraps, plates, bowls, soups, salads, and sides, along with some cookies and baklava), it covers all of the bases. What's more, what they do have still sounds pretty enticing and they have a decent variety of vegan options, if that's what you're looking for. Unfortunately, though, the food doesn't seem to have changed much either. -- GYRO WRAP - Beef & Lamb Gyro Meat, Cucumber, Tomato, Spring Mix, Red Onion, and Tzatziki...$14.75 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sf-wraps-san-francisco?select=FrlM1C4xZViMG7grcnECJg) In terms of taste, this wasn't bad. The gyro was fairly juicy and the veggies were all very fresh. The lavash, however, is not good. I don't know if it's the wrap itself or how they toast it, but it's so dry and brittle that it completely fell apart after just two bites (not to mention the need to sip my water often). -- SHAWARMA WRAP - Beef & Lamb Gyro Meat, Cucumber, Tomato, Spring Mix, Onion and Hummus...$14.75 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sf-wraps-san-francisco?select=QgXCYzBS3NO0R3rVBKxL6w) It's essentially identical to the Gyro Wrap, but with hummus instead of tzatziki. The taste is comparable to each other as well, but this one feels a little heavier thanks to the hummus. Plus points for it also helping to offset the lavash's dryness, though it's still brittle and falls apart. Beyond the food, the one thing that I really like about SF Wraps is how utterly convenient they are. On top of how late they stay open, parking is both easy and plentiful (at night), their handful of tables are almost never taken, and the food comes out fairly quick. It's just a shame that they're not nearly as cheap as they used to be (the wraps used to be $9-$10). Otherwise, if I worked in the area or was looking for a late night bite after hitting the bars nearby, SF Wraps isn't a bad option to have around. If/when I do return, though, I'll probably go with one of their plates or bowls instead, so as not to bother with their lavash again.

Meat lovers wrap

Updated review: Every time we are in town we either walk over here or doordash and every time it's fantastic. Wait(even with doordash) is never bad. The wraps are still fantastic. The meat lovers might be the most perfect wrap I've ever had. But you can't really go wrong with any of them. The location is still perfect for us as we normally stay near the baseball field. Can't wait to have them again next time.

Chicken Rice Plate

Food was possibly the most mid food we have ever had. Chicken was super dry, rice was plain, pita bread was not pita bread but super dry, thin, and also plain. Crazy expensive that this was $23. Would not even pay $5 for it.

Fast, filling, and delicious is how I would describe SF Wraps. I can tell that the owner really cares about the quality of the food he makes. I called to pick up an order, and he asked how long it would take me to get there so that he could time it to be as fresh as possible when I arrived. Also, this is one of the few places in SF that is open till late, which is rare quality in restaurants in this city. The wraps are amazing, I would definitely rank them as some of the best wraps I've tasted in the year I have lived here. I would highly recommend trying this place. I've also heard that the cookies are delightful!

Awesome stop for late night food! My brother and I were super hungry after our night tour of Alcatraz and saw this spot right near our hotel. We split a shawarma wrap and it was delicious! The owner was super nice and made our sandwich fresh to order. It was perfectly spicy and super filling. We really appreciated the yummy food and impeccable service especially so late at night!

A quaint little Mediterranean wrap shop with a focus on gyro meat, chicken, falafels and hummus. So the basics basically. It was fine for a filling lunch that's not Chipotle. Gyro Meat Lover Wrap: This is definitely meat intense! A bunch of large gyro cubes, a few raw slices of onion and tzatziki are the only things inside the wrap. It's so filling that you could easily spread this across two meals. I kinda wish the gyro was thinly sliced instead of cubed though, since the wispy thin texture is just so much better. And what would be even better would be a hybrid wrap where it's the normal fillings, but the with the same big meat portion found in this one. Falafel Plate: Pretty basic with 4 falafels, 2 scoops of hummus, a simple salad and a wrap cut into squares. After having the meat lover wrap and then experiencing this, I'm so thankful I'm not a vegetarian. Seems like a much less filling lunch option. The falafels were ok, a little dense. The hummus seemed a lot more airy than what you get at the grocery store, which was nice. The salad was basically some romaine lettuce with tomatoes, cucumber and onions. I totally would have traded that salad in for something more exciting like dolmas. Baklava: Extremely flaky and buttery. Like more pronounced dough layers than I normally see. However, the bottom was lacking that soaked sticky chewy feel. It was a different experience having a flaky crispy bottom too and I think I prefer the soaked bottom kind of baklava more.

Stopped by during the recent lunar new year parade to have a bite while waiting for the event to start. Ordered 3 gyro wraps, 2 sides of rice, and 2 orders of falafel. The gyros were a little disappointing: while the meat was well seasoned and tender, it was chopped rather than in strips, and the sauce was pretty minimal. The rice was also well flavored but a bit dry. We enjoyed the falafel the best, as it was cooked to a soft crisp and the inside was still moist. Maybe we just got the end of the day's batch since it was towards the evening and there was only one employee inside. Not sure I would return for the price ($17 gyro is a bit steep!) but it seems to have been around for a while and is doing something right!

It was super tough, and inedible.....I literally took a couple of bites, and had these long pieces of membrane in the chicken that tasted like rubber... I also ordered the curly fries, and those were the best part of the meal. Maybe I just happened to come on an off day, but man I was bummed I spent 30 dollars for something that was inedible! I will say the staff were very friendly, and the place was kept very clean on a positive note.
