Chipotle - Metreon/Downtown San Francisco Sunday, September 6, 2026 I was in the neighborhood to see a movie at AMC Metreon 16, so I decided to eat at Chipotle beforehand. I wanted something quick so I wouldn't miss my movie. There were more than eight people in line, but the line moved pretty fast. I ordered one taco for $3.95 with an additional Soft Tortilla for $0.50 on the side. I noticed the sign for Pollo Asado and decided to try this chicken instead of my usual chicken. The Black Beans were included with the Pollo Asado, and I ordered my other three usual sides--Mild Salsa, Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa, and Fajita Veggies--on the side. I used the extra tortilla to make my own mini burrito. I put the Pollo Asado, Black Beans, Mild Salsa, Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa, and Fajita Veggies onto the tortilla and wrapped everything together. It was a simple way to turn my taco order into a more filling meal while still keeping the cost low. Overall, Chipotle was a convenient choice since I was heading to the movie at AMC Metreon 16. The line moved quickly, and my taco with the extra tortilla made a reasonably priced dinner. read more

Workers here are so rude and laughed at me as if they aren't working retail the rest of their lives Got a message back that says "that's not the impression we want to leave" I'm gay and feminine looking so what were they laughing at besides that? Clearly the workers are homophonic, so what impression were they trying to leave?? The service I received was extremely unprofessional and it's sad to see the type of people they employ. Do better. read more

Racial Discrimination I've now had multiple negative experiences at this location, and after the second incident where I felt I was treated differently based on race, I no longer feel comfortable spending my money here. During one visit, I watched the employee serving the person directly in front of me, who was Hispanic, give them noticeably larger portions without charging extra. When it became my turn, the attitude immediately felt different. I received smaller portions, was met with rude facial expressions when I asked for more, and felt as though I was being treated differently. I brought the situation to a manager's attention, but instead of taking my concern seriously, the manager immediately defended the employees. There was also a significant language barrier. I have had several occasions at this location where employees working the food line or register struggled to communicate with me or understand what I was requesting. On one occasion, I was overcharged, and instead of properly refunding or correcting the charge, the staff simply wanted to remake the order. Communication between customers and employees should not be this difficult, especially when it involves money and order accuracy. On another visit, my food was taken by a homeless individual while I was at the restaurant. When I informed a manager, I was essentially told, "We can't do anything about that. There are a lot of homeless people in the area, so you need to watch your stuff better." Regardless of what the restaurant could or could not legally do, the manager's response showed absolutely no concern, empathy, or attempt to help resolve the situation. I want to make something very clear: I support diversity in the workplace, and I support minorities having opportunities to work, advance, and become managers. My issue is not that Hispanic employees work here. My concern is that, based on my repeated experiences, this location appears to have very little diversity among its staff and management, and I have personally experienced treatment that made me question whether customers are being treated equally. After two separate situations where I felt racially discriminated against, combined with poor customer service, communication problems, incorrect charges, and managers who seemed unwilling to seriously address complaints, I have lost confidence in this location. Management needs to be seriously reevaluated, the staff needs better customer-service and anti-bias training, and the company should review whether its hiring and management practices are creating an environment where both employees and customers from different backgrounds are being treated fairly. At this point, I will also be contacting corporate and submitting a formal complaint regarding the managers who were on duty during these incidents. This location needs major changes. The current level of professionalism, accountability, communication, and customer service is unacceptable. read more

Never prepared at opening - staff never ready to open on time. Very disorganized, and long wait times. Need new management at this location.

Went here with a friend and the guy who made our bowl barely gave any food. I wish I had a photo, but we were too hungry to take one. The bowl wasn't even halfway full. The bowl had maybe 1/4 of what it usually had, so the server scammed us. Do not recommend at all read more

Rude employees! When asking a question, the Latina employee snapped "What?" Little girl, I would suggest you watch your tone with folks. I didn't let it bother me, and proceeded to attempt to order anyway. Guess what? They had no chicken. Ok. I understand food takes time to cook. But, she continued to be rude and I just ended up leaving without arguing. I will not be going back there. read more

I walked in and immediately they were rude . The person on line and the cashier. I asked for very simple requests and I got some bad freaking attitude from both . Update from 5 years later: This store location is always disgusting inside, like the staff just doesn't care. I had an almost identical experience here 5 years ago, where I received no greeting, and patiently waited several minutes before saying I had a pickup order. Short angry guy told me rudely to wait without even making eye contact, and then the girl in what looked like a full face of amateur evening makeup looked at me and only said "what?" I was perfectly polite and thanked them for my food, and was given ZERO response at all. I've never been treated this poorly anywhere else. Employees are beyond unprofessional and this is why this store has 2 stars online. Train your staff better, it's giving LOW CLASS. read more

This chipotle is the worst and needs to be closed or revamp the entire team. Unprofessional workers, dirty food line, and half portioned claiming it's a full portion. Do not support this chipotle. read more

There couldn't be a lower rate for the service I've received here on multiple occasions. The attitude and lack of protein portion served here is beyond me. The employees seemed rushed, there wasn't a line and they seem upset for almost everything They put a crazy amount of rice (3 scoops) and had of the protein I chose. When I asked about it I was given attitude. I asked for dressing while paying they gave me attitude and asked if I asked for it before placing my order. ALL THE STAFF is prejudice against anyone who isn't wearing suit . Horrible experience read more

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this location. First, the billing was handled poorly. I was charged for "extra chicken" that I never ordered. When I pointed out the error immediately after paying, the cashier refused to refund the difference or correct the transaction, stating that a refund wasn't possible and only offering a vague "discount for the next visit." This is unacceptable for any customer, especially a visitor who won't be returning. (though he briefly apologized) The service was even worse. When I tried to get the extra chicken I was forced to pay for, the server completely ignored me. She chose to mop the floor and wipe tables right in front of me while I was standing at the counter, then walked into the back without a word. I felt invisible and disrespected. Eventually, a different female staff member (who seemed to be the manager) came out from the back. She had a much better attitude and finally provided the extra chicken in a side bowl to resolve the situation. read more

Everytime I order Chipotle on DoorDash from this location, they forget ingredients in my bowl or skimp on it. I counted only 5 black beans in my veggie bowl tonight. Definitely one of the worst Chipotle locations. In terms of physical location it is good. But, this location has a portion problem. Absolutely the smallest burritos with the smallest portion of meat, rice, and even pico, sour cream. They half scoop everything and don't even serve that entire half scoop. I couldn't believe my eyes how bad it was. Do not go to this location if you are expecting a decent size serving of Chipotle. You'll be disappointed. read more

I went to chipotle that other day the employe only gave me a little bit of food and the lady was very rude to me

For some reason the ladies behind the counter are either in competition with each other, or they just don't care about the costumer. The lady that helped me in the front of the line today was going extremely fast. When I asked her if she was in a hurry she just slid my food across the line and didn't even care. She did the same to my friend so it wasn't personal or just for me. The gentleman next to her was nice and the cashier was nice too. read more

The honey and I really enjoyed ordering ahead to this location while we were in town for his work. The food quality was always high, although it's busy and sometimes you'll need to interrupt the person working at the small counter at the back on the right side. That's actually how you pick up your order ahead since they no longer use the shelf that's there and keep everything behind the counter. Overall, it's not too bad for picking up lunch, though the area isn't great so I wouldn't eat here in person. read more

I ordered the veggie burrito bowl. Good portion and everything is great. The only downside is that the Chipotle app notifies me that my order is ready to pick up, but when I got to the pickup counter, there's a long line already. Most of them are DoorDash or other delivery platform staff, but the line is really crazy. I have to wait another 10 minutes to get my order even though I knew it was ready for pickup. There's a moment when it would be faster if you were ordering at the cashier instead of through pickup orders. read more

Disgusting conditions. Completely dehumanized employees. Said they just don't make burritos with no explanation. Said sour cream was out, but it was available on the other counter and he just didn't want to go get it. No lids for cups. Juice machines running empty. Trash everywhere. Is this not a franchise ? Is there anyone that cares about doing even the modicum of work to take care of their customers ? I am depressed for humanity after patronizing this location. Shut it down. read more

The last four times I've been here they've been out of steak. They've asked me to wait a half hour and still didn't cook any despite multiple people waiting. A guy helped me out the other day in the line and he kept asking his coworkers for help. He was handling the line and cash register the entire time (for a long line of customers) and when customers asked the manager or asst manager (Asian looking guy) to step in he just blamed the employee and told him to "handle it". There were at least five other people working and nobody helped him. They either stood there speaking or were on their phones. I worked at a chipotle when I was younger and this type off of behavior was unacceptable. It's also filthy and I never see them cleaning the tables. read more

I've been to countless Chipotles, but this by far has got to be the worst experience I've had with this franchise. As someone visiting and craving a burrito, I would say the customer service within this establishment was unacceptable. I had told the lady working at the counter that I wanted two burritos. For the first burrito, I told her I wanted extra cheese. She responded by putting about 10 pieces of cheese on it, then looked at me like I was crazy for being surprised by this. I tried to dismiss this case, as the gentleman also working the service bar attempted to make up for my disappointment. For the second burrito, I clearly told her what to put in it, but she tried to put in the opposite of what I wanted. When I said steak, she tried to put in chicken. When I said black beans, she tried to put in pinto beans, etc. When my second burrito was made, I could see the portions were significantly smaller than at other Chipotle establishments. By this point, I wasn't even surprised. When I finally reached the counter to pay, the lady there also approached me with a less-than-friendly attitude. She failed to mark my burritos, and when I asked her to, she gave me an extremely rude face. I had basically given up with this establishment and was ready to just pay for my food. I had additionally purchased a side of queso for my meal. The lady at the counter failed to even put in the side, almost leaving me paying extra for something I wouldn't even be getting, which is utterly ridiculous. I would also like to comment on the overall atmosphere of this establishment. There were numerous messes all over the dining area, and none of the cutlery or napkins were restocked. Honestly, I'm glad this isn't my local Chipotle, or I would have instantly come they company as a whole I urge the staff to do an inspection of the employees once in a while, or the rating this establishment has will continue to plummet. read more

As the other reviews say, they rush you. As a result I miscounted my orders and when I asked to add another meal to my order the male cashier told me I have to go the back of the line while smiling. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS LOCATION! If you ordered from the app expecting your order to be what you ordered guess again. I ordered a chicken burrito and they forgot to include 3 items: the fajita veggies, tomatillo-green salsa, and tomatilla-red salsa. Also the burrito was smaller than normal. I'm pretty sure corporate instructed them to skimp out on customers who don't order in person since we can't really do anything about it once we get it home. Also the chips tasted like they weren't fully cooked. Hey Chipotle don't offer customization if you can't come through. So disappointed! read more

Easily the worst Chipotle I've been to, but about once a year I cave since I live nearby and I'm immediately reminded why I don't go here. The service is incredibly slow for pickup orders. Doordash drivers essentially mob the pickup counter so the folks who ordered from the app basically cant communicate with the one person who works the pickup counter. And that person only shows up for like 3 minutes every 10-15 minutes regardless of which orders are ready. They also routinely get orders wrong, and as everyone else said, they also skimp the most on the size of your order. If you're using the app, you basically have to "extra" everything just to get a regular portion. read more

This is the most stingy chipotle I've ever been to lmao. I've come here 3 times, just because mistakes happen but absolutely not worth how much they charge especially in the bay. The chips and queso were half filled. Bowls are half way. This time my company ordered and all of our orders were completely wrong, the bag was soggy and no untensils annndddd BARELY GAVE ANY CHICKEN. I opened my bowl and was like wow they actually did a decent job. Lettuce covered the whole top only to find out I had like 4 pieces of chicken all lettuce and rice. Come on now... lol read more

Lazy & full of horrible attitude--especially since they now get paid at least $20 an hour. Went in today at 11am and asked for a side of cilantro with my burrito bowl and everyone from the manager to the staff acted like they don't have it anywhere. There was literally no one in there at the time. How LAZY and incompetent do you have to be to get paid at least $41,000 a year. (More than most teachers in the nation!!!) Manager and staff needs to be fired immediately. You can find better people to work for $20 at this point. Hire younger people or people who have something to lose if they act like zombies all day. Paying fast food divas will not up the service or expectations...they will still be divas. Axe them and get people who make customers want to come back. Don't bleed money becuase of your zombie diva staff. read more

The first two times I visited this location was great. But the third time was not. Only order from this location if you're ok with possibly getting very disappointed. This chipotle is rated poorly for a reason. It really depends on your luck and perhaps my chips were stale because I ordered doordash at 8pm. I ordered a sofritos burrito with guac, which they ran out or forgot my sofritos. I only noticed this when I opened my burrito to properly spread the filling. One end was where all the guac and cheese was, and there was a solid hunk of hard white rice at the other end. The worker made NO effort to make the burrito desirable. What could make this worse? I was still charged for my missing sofritos. read more
