This was my first Shake Shack experience; terribly late to the party in 2022. Hibiscus Lemonade (A) - A very refreshing lemonade for $4! This is really nice and refreshing, and the flavor is elevated from the classic lemonade with a floral hibiscus flavor that is not overpowering. Lettuce Wrap Disaster (F) - The atrocity shown in the 1st image is an order that was horribly messed up. The food was cold, lettuce wrapping a burger just doesn't work, but shake shack has good customer service and I was able to give a second shot. Fried Chicken Sandwich (C) - The fried chicken sandwich was better than Chick Fil A as the lettuce added some freshness to cut from pure fried chicken. The chicken itself is tender, which is not an easy feat to accomplish. I think some heart or acid would help lift this burger though. read more

In the Westfield San Francisco Centre, Shake Shack was one of the more popular places to eat in the mall. The food is tasty and the shakes are good-- but unfortunately that doesn't equate to a perfect review. Shake Shack was starting to get busy once I arrived, so I used the Kiosk instead of talking to the cashier. My first issue is that if you order by Kiosk, they're supposed to text you once your order is ready (they did not). Even for those who didn't order by Kiosk, the service was extremely slow. My shake was so good! I got the Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake (Limited Edition). My friends got regular shakes and they tasted good too (but nothing special). The Chicken Sandwiches are good! The Portabello Mushroom burger was also surprisingly good; it was filled with cheese. This brings me to my second issue: the portions are small. It doesn't take a lot to fill me up, but my sandwich was so tiny and so not worth the price. I wouldn't have gotten it if I knew I could finish it in three large bites. I decided to go simple and ordered the shackburger, some crinkle-cut fries, and a vanilla milkshake. I had mixed feelings afterward. The patty in the burger WAS really good. It was juicy and flavorful. Everything you could want from a patty. However, the portion was really small for a $6 burger, it felt more like a slider. The same goes for the fries and the milkshake. The fries were solid and crispy, the box was a bit small but there's not much else to say about them. The milkshake tasted just like the one from Jack in the Box but it was half the size and about the same price. The fries here are a lot better than In N Out's, but that isn't really saying much because that should be a general standard for all fries. The patty was a whole lot better than the ones at In N Out, but In N Out gives about the same portion but at a lower price with more lettuce and tomatoes. On 8/24/23 around 1:15pm. First time in San Fran with the wifey & we came into the mall for a quick bite. We decided to try the Shack. The Original Shack for me & the wife got the Avocado Chicken. The food was great. The best part was the service. The young brother man with the glasses (Amir) up front helped us with the special request for a coke float instead of root beer. (with a smile) While I was eating the spicy cheese fries, I wanted to get some additional ranch. While waiting in line to pay cash I was watching the asian lady (Edna) cashier go above & beyond to help a couple with paying for their order. She was nice enough to count out the $10 in quarter they were trying to use. The whole time, she was smiling, as well. Those 2 employees are true diamonds & represent the business very well. My friend and I went for lunch today. He had the double shack burger with bacon and I just had the single with the crinkle fries. The order machine takes payment off your car has one of those embedded chips, unfortunately mine did not but the waitress there was kind enough to do my order over where I could use the machine with the swiping feature. As it wasn't too busy or freshly made order was ready in no time. Everything was fresh and tasty and my friend also commented that it would give THE MELT some competition. We were both satisfied and will be going back again soon. One comment as we are there and they gave us our order neatly placed in this box there is no room to place your self service ketchup in it as we had to make an additional trip to get the ketchup. Shake Shacks can be hit or miss depending on the location. This one is a new location in the food court of Westfield mall and based on my visit there, it seems to be one of the good ones. We got the hot honey chicken sandwich (a new item on the menu), cheese fries and a smoke shack. All the food turned out great. Even though it was a busy time, we didn't wait very long and the staff was friendly and asked if we wanted extra ketchup, napkins etc. The new hot honey sauce is a really great addition to an already solid chicken sandwich. We'll definitely be back to try more items of the special menu like hot honey bites, fries etc. Note that this location closes early (6pm) and they won't take any orders after that. Not sure why they close early when many of the other places in the food court are still open and other shake shacks can stay open till 10pm. read more
