While it may be a bit on the pricey side, the experience is undeniably worth every penny, especially if you're looking for a night of shared dishes, attentive service, and great atmosphere. the mood is perfect for an intimate dinner or a celebration with friends, as it was when i came here for my birthday! the guac was prepared on the table, and had a great freshness to it, but was not worth the money imo bc it tasted pretty ordinary to me. same for the antichuchos de pollo - they were so small and tasted like regular skewers to me - they had a nice smoky flavor, but nothing that couldn't be achieved at home easily. i liked the trio de maiz, which had many different types of maiz, and was presented beautifully! the dish was very fresh and almost nutty. also liked their take on patatas bravas, which was perfectly crispy and with a delicious creamy sauce. love love loved the tiradito de pez limon, which had the most melt in your mouth yellowtail crudo/sashimi. it was paired with an amazing slightly spicy green chili sauce, and overall flavors were phenomenal. the orange tobiko wasn't there though... the salmon was one of the best things i had that night - perfectly cooked and tender, melty and delicious! amazing flavor pairings, scrumptious overall! dessert was one of the highlights of the meal as well. the churros were citrusy and fried to perfection, and paired with a great sauce. my personal favorite was the passionfruit mango pavlova thing, which had such a bright tartness! everything was served on what looked like homemade pottery, so lovely! the price point seemed a little irrational for what we received, but everything was delicious, and the overall experience was amazing! highly recommend if you're feeling a bit posh or just want to treat yourself!

Walking into the spot, it's a classy and exotic restaurant that features Peruvian style cuisine, and the experience was exemplary. Seated immediately, we were taken care of very efficiently, provided with menus to take a look at and decide what we want, and we decided to try a variety of things. We got all of the items listed below, and they were all incredibly good. Delicious flavor on each and every one of them. My buddy even said the Hummus was the best hummus he's ever had in his life, hands down, and we are from New York and live in Los Angeles so bravo. The corn fritters were delicious as well, the cocktail was brilliantly made, the eggplant and quinoa was delicious and super filling, Feta and Sauce was a nice touch. This spot is a TOTAL 5 star restaurant, and we cleared through the place for a total of 65 pounds. Very do-able for such a classy joint.

We didn't think we would have enough time to dine here during our culinary focused action packed trip. But it was conveniently around the corner from the Ham Yard hotel where we stayed and we strolled in late on a Saturday night after a long day of touring. They greeted us warmly and sat us upstairs promptly even though we didn't have a reservation and it was late and quite packed. The owner made some cocktail recommendations and I settled on the pisco sour and my husband had a spicy drink, I think it was the karay. Both were delicious. For the record, I am not typically a cocktail girl as they're often cloyingly sweet and not well balanced, but these drinks were spot on. We started with all three ceviches...the artichoke vegetarian one and the tuna and sea bass versions. The artichoke dish was very interesting and a bit surprising but tasty nonetheless. The sea bass was delish and the tuna kind of what you'd expect, but solid as well if not overly inspired. I had a salmon entree and hubby had the grilled octopus, both were very good. We really wanted to try the "Andean mess" for dessert..we saw several pass on by to the neighboring table but we were quite full. I would definitely try upon return. In summary, the service and high quality fresh ingredients really make this place a great dining destination. The entrees are not quite as inspired as I would have expected which is why I didn't award the fourth star. But all in all, this Peruvian establishment has service that really cares and food that works well. I would definitely come back or try one of their other establishments.

Peruvian | Tapas | Bar | Weekend Brunch | Happy Hours | Kingly Court…read more An amazing little place hidden inside Kingly Court through those blue tiles and on the 2nd floor. I do suggest tto make reservations and ask for your preferred seating of high tops or regular table top. Or else you may have to expect a bit of a wait. Seating area is not too big but it's open kitchen and staff are quite friendly. Food comes at a quick speed. 4 single stall toilets available. Mon-Fri 3-7pm Happy Hour specials Saturday & Sunday Bottomless Brunch specials See my photos for details. Tapas were all small plates and does not come sigh sides. Sides are even smaller as you would expect. Everything was delicious and beautiful. BBQ plates are a bit bigger and could be quite filling. The flat iron steak was quite smokey. And the pork ribs were fall off the bones. The cocktails were beautifully crafted. Overall I definitely recommend this gem.

Emanuel is in the basement of a Eurotraveller budget hostel, just off Walworth Road. Thankfully, it's brightly signed, and easy to find. The owner and his wife run this small but well-decorated restaurant, enthusiastically frequented by Peruvians and other Latin Americans. The staff are extremely friendly (the owner speaks fluent English, but he's often not about; his wife speaks fairly good English) and make you feel welcome. However.... we discovered that the star of the menu -- Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian rotisserie roast chicken -- which, oddly, is not even listed on the menu) -- must be ordered in advance! Imagine our sadness to discover this. But according to our friend, for £25, it's a deliciously flavoured roast chicken with herbs and spices including chili; and comes with yuca chips, salad, and an alarmingly coloured Inca Kola. We started with Ceviche de Mariscos (seafood ceviche, made fresh, 'cooked' with lemon juice). It was an amazing, citrusy concoction. We never would have guessed the fish was raw. The caldo de gallina (hen soup) was a bit boring, sadly. But the Parihuela (Peruvian seafood stew) was a yummy garlicky concoction. As was the Arroz Con Pato (chicken with rice), with cilantro and other flavours. One note: we found the pricing to be a bit high, especially for the Walworth area. We'd advise Emanuel restaurant to consider either lowering the prices. Or perhaps to offer discounts (for example, 20% off on Tues, Wed, or Thurs between 1-5pm). But the servings were large, and the food was delightful. We'll definitely come here again. Although we'll be calling ahead to order the Polla a la Brasa!

I understand places being busy or short-staffed, but it's never acceptable to be greeted in such manner. Then one of the waitresses comes out and tells us right away that we only have 1.5 hours to eat. Everything was rushed for the service. The appetizer was not even warm. The chicha morada was watered down. Perhaps for someone of non-Peruvian descent, they wouldn't know better. But it just tasted like flavored water than the original drink. The lomo saltado had too much vinegar, the fries were cold (seemed like they were just added). The white rice had no flavor, no salt. I have always made it a point to go to many Peruvian restaurants around the world on my travels, but this one I would definitely rate on the lower end. This place is definitely not an ambassador of our world renowned and famed cuisine when in London!

Service is good, although the order of the items was incorrect (we got nuts after the starters...) I went for the discovery menu (for £24.50 per person for minimum 2 people) thinking we would get a smaller size of each dish but we actually got a single dish to share between 2 people. This should be clarified on the menu. The Ceviche was fine but it had very little to no fish, definitely not worth the price. Overall, the discovery menu is not good value for money since for the same price you can get two entire dishes and maybe sharing a starter or dessert for way better value.
