The ceviche and cocktails were phenomenal as was the calimari. This has been one of our highlights in London without question.

Great ceviche, a bit strong but well recommended. Can recommend the drinks as well, and they have a happy hour. Nice and friendly staff. Ate the ceviches as starters and then meat for "main". Would recommend the ribs! The environment got a bit loud after a few hours, but manageable:-)

Perfect for a date night! I went here on a Wednesday night and it was buzzing. There are so many restaurants to choose from in Kingly Court, but I really fancied a throw back to my South America travels and a taste of Peru. The waitress was super helpful and totally into the food (together we drooled over the idea of the pork chicharrones). She recommended that we get something from each of the menu sections to share between the two of us. Obviously you have to try the Senor Ceviche self named ceviche dish! The chicharrones - crispy slow cooked pork belly - was already ordered from the sharing or Para Picar selection and we had the Pachamama pork ribs from the Peruvian BBQ with a side of the sweet potato fries. This was loads for two people, especially when washed down with superb Pisco Sours! I enjoyed all parts of the meal - everything was super tasty and really well cooked. I liked the modern twist that they add to the dishes - like the sticky sauce and peanuts on the ribs. The ceviche lived up to its name too - a mix of octopus, sea bass cooked in citrus juice, with a kick of chilli and crispy baby squid - not for the faint hearted but perfect for someone like me who adores sea food (like see food and eat it styles!) We were offered desserts, but couldn't fit any in, we had a dessert 'alcoholic hot chocolate' instead, but this was too sweet and rich for me after eating loads. The restaurant itself is not large, but intimate in its setting and not brightly lit - so perfect for the mentioned date night! The bar area is not huge, so this is definitely a place to come eat, rather than just have a drink, also it would be tricky with a group larger than 6 unless you pre book (the bar seats about 6 total and all the dining tables are quite small). I'd definitely return again to investigate the rest of the menu!

Ooww! Oh Yea! Ooww! Oh Yea! Ooww! Oh Yea! Ooowww! What they want? Tapas style, tap tap tapas style! I know I know that was really extra, but I promise you the tapas at Senor Ceviche will have you on your seat and moving every body part that tu madre gave you. Senor Ceviche definitely is a dope spot to grab a quick bite after work or on a Saturday while doing some shopping around town. The restaurant's open windows welcome in the sunlight to shine on the bright colors used to decorate the place. The wait staff was helpful to answer any questions and elaborate on some of the classic Latin ingredients in the dishes and drinks. My favorite dish of the day definitely goes to the Spaniard Ceviche. Of course with the name "Senor Ceviche" I couldn't disrespect the establishment's original purpose, and I am happy I was far from disappointed. The freshness of the dish will have you thinking you're dining with Poseidon himself, and the spice in it will have you feeling like he just invited a group of mermaids to party. The contrast of textures on the Chicharrones was another home run after experiencing the crispy exterior and tender interior. We also ordered the Patatas Fritas dish as a safety net, just in case our taste buds weren't up for the adventure of the other dishes, but do not underestimate this dish. The aji rocotta mayonnaise is one that you'll want to dowse all over the rest of your dishes just for the hell of it. Senor Ceviche is a place that can easily become a go-to favorite when visiting the city. You should definitely stop in.

We arrived around 7:30 on a Wednesday night and the place was packed! We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and told they were fully booked, but could dine at the bar or outside. Since London is a twinkling wonderland at the moment, we happily sat outside. Our server came right over and we ordered the following: Ayahuasca cocktails - slightly sweet and peachy with a nice ginger kick. Yucas - came to us hot crispy with a tasty aji panca cream sauce. Limeño Classico Ceviche - Fresh sea bream with delicious lime sourness, balanced by bits of sweet potato. Señor Ceviche - Spicer than the Limeño (I enjoy a bit more heat) and has a lovely crunch from fried hominy. Tamarind Chicken - Super moist, great sticky sweet flavour. Flat Iron Anticucho - Wish it had more heat, but enjoyed the chimichurri. Patatas Fritas - If I had read the menu properly and realised this was fritas and not bravas I wouldn't have ordered this one. My fault. Not a big fan of these fries, but the sauces are nice. Food was great, service was quick, ambiance was spot on. We will definitely visit Señor Ceviche again very soon.

We had lunch last week and actually quite enjoyed this place. The quick version: a little pricey, the flavours are a little "samey" once you get in there, the portions are very small, but everything was tasty and fresh. The longer version: We opted for the lunch special (basically a side and a main) and then topped up with a few other things since this is all served tapas-style in tiny portions. Pink pickled cabbage: way too sweet, vinegar quick-pickled (think coleslaw) rather than actually pickled (fermented). Would not recommend. Patatas fritas with huancaina & tomato fondue: American-style fries (thin-cut rather than cut like chips) topped with a gooey gravy and a gooey cheese-type thing. Most similar in soul to poutine. Moreish, but not outstanding. Good for that person in your party who starts getting flighty at the idea of ceviche. Tamarind BBQ chicken anticuchos: so good! Nice thigh meat, really tasty tamarind glaze. Get these. Try not to flinch at the price for two tiny skewered pieces of chicken. Flat iron anticuchos: skewers of skirt steak, nicely cooked to medium but not particularly outstanding in any way. Way overpriced for two tiny skewers of meat. Limeno classico: nice mix of textures in here. Tart and not particularly spicy. Mr Miyagi: probably our favourite ceviche out of the mix, we really liked the pomegranate and I loved the baby shiso leaves. Mercado mixto: same as the classico, but with salmon. All three ceviches actually tasted the same, because the tiger's milk is pretty much the same lime-based sauce no matter what. We kept waiting for something to bring in the heat, but never got more than a tease. Chifa chicharonnes: soft on the inside, seared on the outside, pork belly as it should be. Very, very good, if a tiny bit sweet. I got a water, GF got a cocktail. Our bill came out to £62, and that's including the lunch specials on "discount". A bit ouch. That being said, everything was exceedingly fresh and the flavours, even if a little similar to each other, were bright and simple. If we'd had less food, I'm not sure we would have been sated, because the portions really are teeny. And for the money, I just can't recommend it as a good value. But this might be a good date option if you're looking to try something slightly outside the box that isn't messy or heavy. Would knock it down to 3.5 because of the price factor, but the staff were really awesome, so I'll stick with 4.

My sister and I are huge ceviche fans. When we heard about this place we just had to go. On our first visit they were closing for a staff party and my heart sunk. The next time I was in London the stars all lined up and we were able to go with my dad. So worth the wait. The food was incredible, so fresh and layered so well. Every bite was well planned and perfectly balanced. The waiter recommend some dishes and was a good chat. He knew all the history and understood the ingredients as well. The atmosphere is just loads of fun; relaxed with a sense of excitement in the air with the music and the smell of the food. We grabbed some cocktails that were also delicious and ate through 5 or 6 dishes between the 3 of us. Everything that was recommended was incredible. I can't wait to head back and I wish I was back in London all the time because I would practically live here.

There has been a sudden emergence of Peruvian restaurants in London in the past couple of years and as a cuisine gets more popular, mediocrity arrives This restaurant is just so average...the calibre of Peruvian restaurants in London is so high with Cerviche, Andina, Chotte matte, Lima and Coya....it makes you think what the point of this place really is other than branding itself as Peruvian The cerviches are just boring, nothing new and under seasoned. The pisco sours are boring and tasteless. The meat grills are just normal bbq with no Peruvian influence to them really Go to one of the other places I mentioned as you will pay similar amounts and get better food I've given it an extra star as its fun inside and well located ...

Since I first visited the little gem of a restaurant that is Señor Ceviche, I have been victim of this weird thing that is "new restaurant paradox". You know, that moment when you're not sure if you want to tell the world about this great little place you've just been to, or just keep it all to yourself (and make sure they'll always have a table for you...). Out of the many cocktails we got, my favourite was the Barranco Babe. I never had a cocktail with basil before, but this was a revelation. The Pisco Sour and the Mamacita also come highly recommended, and if you're really into spicy things, the Nazca Heat is definitely worth a shot! The whole small-plates thing made ordering a lot easier (aka. we got pretty much everything). Chicharonnes, also know as "slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soysauce" are just as good as they sound. Take my word and order them. You'll regret it if you don't. A good third of Señor Ceviche's menu is made of ceviche. I tried a few but my favourite was the Mercado Mixto; a perfectly balanced sea bream and salmon tiradito with orange and pisco tiger's milk (no worry, no tiger was hurt to produce this dish!). The zing from the orange and the freshness from the pisco really made that dish for me! Now, what do you do when you read the words BBQ Chicken. You order it. And then you gobble it down and consider getting a second serving. Obviously. Alright, that was a lot of protein, which we balanced out with a bowl of Patatas Fritas. Chips with melted cheese and tomato fondue; resistance was futile. I suppose it is not really surprising that we were not quite hungry enough for dessert after all of these. I've been told that the brownie's pretty nice though, so I'm not saying I won't be back for cocktails and dessert one of these days... https://cakeandwhisky.wordpress.com/2014/12/03/senor-ceviche

The first time I tried Peruvian food it was at Chotto Matte and I really liked it. I also tried Lima Floral but I thought it was bad value. Knowing this, it's obvious that I was very excited to discover Señor Ceviche's dishes. The evening started with a lemongrass pisco sour and some nibbles. The pisco sour and chifa chicharonnes (slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soy) were just ok in my opinion, I really liked the picayune aubergines dishes. It was a few mini sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts with a rich, mildly spiced paste called achiote. The sauce on its own had a very unusual taste, but it really gave an extra smokiness/ spiced flavour to the dish. Our dinner continued with their signature dish and a salmon tiradito. Their señor ceviche was made with the freshest sea bream and octopus and aji amarillo tiger's milk. The pieces of fish were laid down on a smooth sweet potato purée. The whole dish was topped with crunchy baby squid tempura. It was a very well executed dish and very refreshing in the mouth. Regarding their salmon tiradito I wasn't impressed, it just tasted like a basic salmon sashimi. As a cocktail pairing we had an Inca trail cocktail with the two dishes. Peruvian food is not just about healthy ceviche but it's also about naughty barbecue meats. We had anticucho de res and super pollo. I'm not a big fan of animal heart in general, so unfortunately I didn't fancy my anticucho of beef heart. However, I fell in love with their super pollo, the chargrilled chicken was super tasty, tender and moist. It was a delight. I wished I had more than one piece of this delicious juicy poultry. To complement our meat we had some chargrilled green vegetables and quinoa. Both sides were good. I had a preference for the quinoa salter. For dessert, we had a tarta de queso, it tasted ok but I'm not a huge fan of dessert. I only had a little bite to try and gave the rest to the other bloggers who enjoyed it more. Overall Señor Ceviche was a vibrant place with really nice staff. Even if we were very privileged and looked after by the staff during this event, I had a look around during the service and they paid as much attention to other clients as us which is a good thing. I'd definitely recommend Señor ceviche. I'm planning to go back with my boyfriend and have more super pollo and picayune aubergines. If you are around Carnaby street between 12am and 5pm, they have a special lunch deal which includes a ceviche or anticucho with one side, plus a soft drink for £10. And for those who plan to party in central London, you can start with a Pisco Sour Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm (all cocktails are £5).

lemongrass pisco sour - quite tangy with a gentle fragrance of lemongrass. Luckily the cocktail was not too sugary because I never like sweetness before pudding so it went down well with the two starters. aubergine picarones (sweet potato and aubergine doughnus with anchiote, coriander yoghurt and peanuts) £5.00 - The aubergines in the slightly bigger pieces were not cooked through and I personally did not like the sauce. chicharonnes (slow cooked pork belly with sweet soy) £6.00 - if you know what tau yu bak means, then you know what the taste is like, if you don't look here. Tastewise was good, being not too sweet or saltish, but the meat was very tough. Inca trail - taste quite like mojito with again a gentle spice note from the anise. mr myagi (salmon tiradito with Nikkei tiger's milk, pomegranate, purple shiso & salmon scratchings £7.00) - lovely and light flavours, it was very much a ladies' dish. senor ceviche (sea bream and octopus ceviche with aji amarillo tiger's milk, sweet potato purée, avocado, coriander, red onion & tempura baby squid £8.50) - well this tiger's milk is not literally milk from the tiger but is the Peruvian term for citrus based marinade that cures seafood in ceviche. A mixture of crunchy, bouncy texture and all the fishy flavours that are beautiful! But honestly, my favourite was the plantain. pisco punch - my least favourite cocktail because of the strong rosemary in this. But I can understand why this cocktail was chosen to be paried with the following dishes... anticucho de corazon (beef heart) - sounds exciting. Nothing gruesome in fact, was skewed elegantly and presented with garnishes with contrasting colours that make it look so enticing. The taste is like a heavy meaty flavour, personally it was my least favourite. supper pollo (chargrilled chicken with rocotto and piquillo pepper salsa) £8.50 - super moist and super delicious! One of my two favourites for the night! Nikkei greens (charred broccoli, lettuce and courgette with miso, aji amarillo and pickled garlic sauce) £6.00 - splendid work on the charring of the vegetables which could so easily be burnt. My second favourite! quinoa (black and white quinoa, baby gem, roasted beetroot, avocado, asparagus, edamame beans, choclo corn & queso) £6.00 Lima espresso martini - I like my coffee hot with no sugar but this cocktail was completely the opposite being cold and a light touch of sweetness. It was a pleasant surprise that I enjoyed very much. tarta de queso - a passion fruit and white chocolate cheesecake with chicha morada syrup

I absolutely love Kingly Court - there are so many fabulous restaurants, and Señor Ceviche is one of them. The atmosphere at Señor Ceviche is really lively, a fact we partially attributed to the fact that we arrived for the Pisco Power Hour (£5 cocktails!) There's a lot of music and it's got a really nice vibe, although it is quite loud (so maybe a place to go with your friends, instead of your folks). I had the Peruvian Pasion (gin, Campari, passoa, rhubarb syrup, lime juice, and egg white) while P had the San Isidro (El Jimador Blanco, raspberry puree, basil and lime juice). Our waitress suggested six dishes between the two of us. We of course had to start with ceviche, so we opted for the eponymous Señor Ceviche (sea bream and octopus ceviche with sweet potato puree, avocado, coriander, and red onion) as well as the Spaniard (sea bream and king prawn with chorizo, plantain, and red onion). Followed by the anticucho de res - grilled beef heart skewers with sweet potato mayonnaise, olives, and mint. I absolutely loved these - I also really liked the beef heart at Ceviche, as it's so tender - but Priscilla really wasn't a fan of these! The frijoles negros (black beans with smoked bacon and burnt aubergine), the pachamanca pork ribs, and nikkei greens were all absolutely delicious. At that point, we were pretty full - but the table next to us got the flat iron steak with chimmichurri, which gave us food envy. I'm so glad we did end up getting it, because it was one of the best dishes we had! We skipped dessert, as we were already pretty full, and the choices didn't seem particularly exciting. Overall, Señor Ceviche was a great place for dinner with a lovely, vibrant atmosphere, and I'd definitely recommend it!

Maybe it's the American in me but the service is not that great. I saw one couple refuse to pay the derive charge because they were not happy at all with the service. Don't get me wrong the staff is great and work hard when you get them but they are just not attentive to you the person paying to be there. Getting the check (Bill) is almost painful. Other than that the food was great!!

Can you tell I don't get out much? At least for drinks. Anyway. We came here with some friends and took advantage of their 2 for 1 offer (meaning you get two drinks for 10 pounds). It impressed me that they served really good drinks for such a good price. I personally loved The Last Word (super strong but great flavour) and the Elderflower Margarita (YUM!). They both packed a punch but weren't so overpowered with liquor that they didn't taste nice. The bar staff was fun as well. The one that wasn't popular was the honey one. I can't remember the name but none of us liked it. It's a cool bar!

I was gonna give this place 3 stars, but on reflection of the whole experience it's a definite 2,…read more2.5 at an absolute push. And I don't give out 2 stars lightly. This was one of the few places the bf and I had booked to go to during a brief 3-day trip to London, due to the 2 for £10 cocktails and general good reviews it had. I kinda wish we hadn't! Upon arrival the place was practically empty (but it was like bang on 6pm on a Monday, so a lot of people hadn't arrived for happy hour yet) and staff showed us where our reserved booth was. All good to start off with, the place looks pretty cool inside and the tunes were good too. Here's where it starts to go downhill. I skipped up to the bar having decided with the bf which cocktails to get (at this point we didn't realise 2 for £10 meant two of the SAME cocktail, because they never mention it) and ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri for the bf, plus a Chocolate Martini for myself. Nope, couldn't get the one I wanted as they were out of chocolate liqueur, so it was back to my seat to try and decide on another. I was gutted but excited about my next choice, the Show Me The Honey. NOPE. They were out of honey vodka so I couldn't have that one either! I get that obviously it's a busy bar at weekends, but I thought that was an extremely poor show - the staff weren't hugely apologetic about it either which didn't exactly help. Finally deciding on a Russian Spring Punch (yay, they had all the ingredients for that one!) I ordered the drinks. The bartender said "you know it's 2 for £10 yeah?" but again didn't mention the fact that it's two of the same cocktail for £10. Once he started making up the drinks I of course caught on to what was happening, whereupon he looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing something they never openly tell you. Great. I begrudgingly paid for our drinks (I wouldn't really have minded except the bf wasn't sure if he'd want more than one cocktail and we now possessed four, plus I was really wanting to try a couple of cocktails instead of two of the same one) and went back to the booth, more than a bit deflated by this point. The cocktails were...fine. The champagne in my cocktail wasn't the nicest but it did the job of course. The atmosphere in the bar was...also fine. But that was it. Fine. It stayed pretty quiet the whole time we were there and I guess just wasn't the whole cocktail bar experience I was expecting. We then made our way to Cahoots where we had an absolute belter of a time and it totally saved our night, goes to show that sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

I just love the atmosphere, the enthusiasm, the music, you feel transported to another place and I just don't understand how very few people, even those living in Camden, don't know about this bar! I was introduced by a lovely Yelp friend and try and get back whenever I'm in Camden as I really love this place. To me this is one of Camden's real hidden gems. So why do I love it? Let me count the ways: Live music: I'm not sure if there is someone on every night, but I'm always shocked by them hosting some fantastic, extremely talented musicians. Intimate setting: As a tiny little venue you huddle around small tables, it feels cozy, personable and warm. Art work: Walls, ceilings and tables are plastered with art, pictures, paintings collages drape all surfaces. It's like some hipster arty underground cavern... like so many bars in Shoreditch are trying to achieve, but this place isn't trying, it has charm and personality without having to try. Caipirinhas and mojitos: Using traditional Brazilian ingredients the cocktails here are just superb... and after a few you can't help but sink back into your seat and enjoy the ambiance. I'd also recommend the Cuba Libra, I'm usually not a fan, but would make an exception here. As a cocktail bar you need to expect to pay cocktail prices, but the live music, amazing atmosphere and art are free.

Apparently the owners want it to feel like someone's living room and it definitely has a relaxed and locals-come-here vibe, although our seating area was in what was once a VIctorian police cell, which was probably less cosy back in the day. The interesting concept here is to serve small bites of food tailored to each house cocktail which a beautifully presented and explained, as are the cocktails themselves. We sampled almost all of the house cocktail menu and generally everyone was very impressed. I think several people really liked the park bench, with its strong apple flavour, although I personally found it a bit one-note. In fact, I wouldn't say any of the cocktails here got it quite right for my palate, some of the balancing of flavours didn't quite work for me and none of them particularly blew me away. They were pretty good, but there weren't any I found incredibly delicious and "incredibly delicious" is really what I am looking for in a cocktail. I had the Get Me a Bourbon, I'm Hungry and Lost in Alaska. The first was a short drink which wasn't massively memorable, contra my favourite ever bourbon cocktail, the fantastic bourborini once on the specials at Pitt Cue Co. Lost in Alaska I thought was nice although others said they thought it tasted medicinal! Service was great - helpful, patient and attentive. It's expensive, especially now I live in Manchester and can get better cocktails at the Fitzgerald for £4 less, but I would still recommend Knowhere Special, especially if you're nearby having dinner. They have such an inventive and passionate approach, it's very impressive already and I'm sure will just get better with time.

The interior is small, cramped, and homely like walking into a hippie's apartment. Our table was in its own private alcove with a low vaulted ceiling. We had one server who was outstanding - knowledgeable, excited, and outgoing. The house cocktail flavors were all over the place. Some were good and others were great. They are all super weird for sure, so you'll get a kick just reading off the descriptions. They are pricier, but not outrageous. Many also come with little snacks to pair with the cocktail. If you don't want something crazy, you can order regular cocktails as well. Neat experience and certainly recommended to try out for novelty's sake. One of the best experiences we had in London!

After being poorly for over 5 days, I had to skip the bottomless Sunday brunch which allows you to drink as much for just £18 (select drinks). The breakfast is supremely unhealthy, I mean I absolutely loved it but this will not be a regular place. I am more of a poached egg on granary roast sort of girl, which most of the times is a luxury. There options are plenty many however they do only waffles (both sweet and savoury) and no toast. I swapped the scrambled egg with poached egg and added an avocado as an extra. My breakfast was therefore, savoury waffles with smoked salmon, cream cheese, poached eggs and crispy capers with extra avocados. I complete devoured my brunch after being hungry for just over 3 hours. The food was great, something different from standard Sunday brunch. However, due to the healthiness quotient, I will not frequent this place and only treat myself maybe once in good few months. The staff were friendly and quick. The general vibe of the place was great. Would highly recommend for anyone to go at least once.
