Advise all service members to avoid this location due to the disrespect!! Ive been going here for almost 4 years and today I went in to get a button fixed on my top and the owner was super rude. Pulled down his mask to raise his voice at me then walked away all because I asked for clarification on the cost. As a regular here I was shook. Save you money and effort. The shop owner is unprofessional, unskilled, and arrogant. His work matches his professionalism. When I brought my uniform items back to show him the sloppy work, he yelled at me and screamed me he's been sewing for 34 years. He then yanked uniform pants off my hanger. Wow. I walked out. The owner has deplorable manners, no people skills, anger management issues, and ridiculous business skills. I paid $61 for this sloppy tailoring and will have to have it redone by someone competent. The only reliable aspect was all this sloppy work was done quickly. If you want an expensive job with sub-standard tailoring, like being screamed at, bring your items here. The owner will do an excellent job at making you feel . like you wasted your money/time and you enjoy being treated badly because of his poor work. You really get what you pay for. If you want perfection and quality work...yeah...NEXT! If you're in a pinch and need something quick, definitely. Owner is a little combative and argumentative on accommodating slightly and the pricing seems arbitrary. Bottom line, it ain't pretty, but will get the job done. read more

It's been awhile since I've used Sew What. I used them for uniforms and civilian clothes alterations in the past. (Over 15 year timeframe) . I always support small business, I recently purchased a blouse that required alterations, it was a larger size. Before I could finish explaining what I wanted. I was quickly told "no I don't do this anymore" (wait what.. you don't do alterations anymore). I asked if he could tell me names of other alterations locations.. again "no no.. I don't know anything.. only know my place, I only stay in my place ".. what??? Epic fail. I am sorry, I don't recommend this establishment for alterations. Find a more helpful location read more

My initial communication with the owners was great. I dropped my items off and they gave me quick turnaround time. When I went to pick up my items, however, I was not impressed. My tapes are not even and when I asked about them being fixed I was told that Air Force is all one word, said together, so it was fine how they made the tapes. He wasn't willing to work with me at all or offer to fix the issue. My tape with my name also has the letters unevenly spaced and has extra material that's folded under and I can't even wear the tapes as they're set up now. Very disappointed and now I'm out $37 for a uniform I can't even wear. read more

Do not use this place for any alterations or for their service!! I came in to get some name tags made and sewn on to my military uniforms. As I went to pick them up I immediately noticed that the US Army name tag that was made looked wrong. The "M" in Army is not lined up, as I made this known to the owner and asked that it get fixed he decided to argue with me and get defensive telling me that it only looks wrong because they are my uniforms and I am looking at them too much. He then continued to tell me that anyone else that looks at my uniform will notice that it says US Army and that nothing looks wrong. I pointed it out and he stuck with what he first said and that it was just because they were my uniforms that I notice something wrong that is not wrong. I told him that I will go ask a few people if they notice anything wrong with the name tag on my uniform and let him know what is said then. After that he began to raise his voice and get more defensive. He informed me that if that happens then bring it back and he will fix it! Save your time, save your money, do not go here unless you want bad service and to deal with an owner that refuses to agree with a mistake and not even offer to fix it the right way. read more

This was my first time using Sew-What Tailor Shop and I was extremely impressed. I needed new stripes on my Air Force blouse and they did a great job. I didn't catch the gentlemen's name, but I was in and out of the shop in less than 15 minutes. I was worried I was going have to come back another time to get it done, but he was able to do it same day. Well, we are new to the area and really needed a dry cleaners that was close by. I took in my husbands slacks, 3 sweaters, and a dress. The only thing that came out right was the dress- it's a no brainer. The slacks were wrinkled. The sweaters have the sticky residue from the hangers going straight across the mid section and sleeves. On top of that both sweaters shrunk. We will not be going back. We paid $35 for a job poorly done. Oh if you still decide to go they do offer a next day service for an additional $2. read more

This place is phenomenal. They do a good job with my uniforms but even more importantly is they will do a sew job on the spot for barely any extra. I had a name patch torn today and instead of waiting 5 days and paying the fee the guy fixed it in two seconds free of charge. There are several examples of why I love this place but to sum it all up they just take a great deal of pride in what they do and work hard for the customer. Awful!!!! We went here to get my dress hemmed for a wedding. They told us they could do it no problem and said it would take 3 days. I went back to pick the dress up and they had hung it on a hanger to where I couldn't see the hem. We paid and I started to look and realized that the whole bottom was scrunched and that the hemline was all knotted. I said something to the lady at the front about what a bad job it was and that there was no way we should pay for that. She told me they don't do refunds and then grabbed the guy who had actually hemmed it. He said it looked fine while pulling the bottom of the dress taut with his fingers, I told him to let it go and after doing that even he finally admitted it looked bad. He then went on to tell me that there's just no way they could do it because the factory did it originally and they just couldn't match that. I told him if he knew that he never should have agreed to do it in the first place or he should have called me soon after and told me instead of ruining my dress. He finally agreed to give me my $25 back, even he realized what a horrible job it was. I ended up taking it to a Nordstrom in Phoenix, they had absolutely no problem and did it perfectly, the seamstress at Nordstrom upon seeing the work done at Sew What said she thought whoever sewed my dress needed to get their sewing license taken away. read more
