Wow how Southgate has changed from my childhood. Theres no more Pucci, Yolys or Southwest Supermarket. Who knows if the carnival still comes as looks like a furniture took over the lot. Since Im back home visiting and needed to wash I opted here instead of going to the other place on 12th Ave. As a visitor, it didnt give an option to use my credit/debit card at the machine so needed to purchase a card and replenish it not knowing how much I will need or use so thats why I knocked off a star. What am i going to do with it if I still have 5 bucks on it???? The area is mostly kept up knowing the area is common for the unhoused community members. The attendant Laura came to set up shop setting off the alarm which startled the 7 people here. She apologized and felt bad but went about her duties. Very clean, well organized, and I loved the payment system as compared to the coin-operated machines in my RV park. The machines were clean and operational. (I really HATE going to a place where all the machines are broken!) It looks like they take care of their machines. The sanitary UV lights in each washing machine are a nice touch! My child, myself, and other customers needed to use the restroom clearly marked "For Customers." However, the cleaning lady decided that because she was on her lunch break, she would not unlock the restroom door. Her lunch area is an office where she has access to the cameras and can see who is trying to use the restroom, yet she still chose not to unlock it. There is no sign posted anywhere stating that the restroom is closed during the cleaning lady's lunch break. When I asked where it states that customers are not allowed to use the restroom while she is on lunch, she responded with an attitude, was rude, and walked away. I normally enjoy coming here because the place is clean, but when a restroom is needed urgently and it only requires the push of a button to unlock the door, refusing access to paying customers is unacceptable. The cleaning lady acting as if she has the authority to decide who can or cannot use the restroom, and when, is very unprofessional. read more

I was so frustrated at the card situation. I had a previous card from Phoenix with money on it. It wouldn't work at this location. I had to know on the the employee door to get someone to help figure out what the problem was. She didn't know. She was kind enough to give me a different card to load for the visit. When I went to start my third dryer it said I needed more $$. I go over to the machine to load more and it says it can't read it. Omg!!! I am so frustrated at this point. I knock on the door again. No answer. I go over to one of the other doors and knock where I had seen someone go in before. No answer. At this point I think I will just have to take wet clothes home. Finally I calm down and go try the machine again. This time it lets me add $$. Needless to say I won't go back there. No employees to help customers. read more

Not a fan of laundromats at all, but when you need one you need one. This place is a joke. They have signs up all over that say "$5" laundry credit when you check in, no Info how to redeem that, and NO attendants on site, they had some people there washing who said they didn't work there-but had keys to the bathroom and back door. I found that odd-and the woman's attitude was HORRIBLE! Extremely rude in tone and context. I'm sorry it isn't clear that you don't work there when you have keys for all the doors. Any why is they bathroom locked? Seriously, laundry takes a couple hours-if the laundromat is open-the bathroom should be open, and an attendant around at all times. I assume people's bad behavior in the restroom lead to the door being locked-but again, an attendant would help monitor that. The cost to do a load or 2 is SOOOOO expensive, and you have to load money on a separate laundry card with a $5 minimum. I hope I never have to come back. Might be cheaper to buy new clothes than to wash what I have at this place. read more

I like the concept of not having to use quarters but was a bit confused on how much loads cost if you weren't using the smaller washers. To see how much money you had left, you needed to go to the kiosk each time. If their prices were exact and not using cents; it would make it easier because I went to do a load and needed one more penny on my card. Had to leave the machine, find money, go to kiosk and then load the card and back again to the machine...leaving all my stuff unattended. There is a very nice attendant that helped and she keeps the place very clean. A huge plus...the dryers are amazing and very inexpensive. I've used many dryers that I would have to run 2-3 cycles to get the clothes dry. Warning...high heat means high heat!!! Too hot for sheets and may shrink clothes. read more

GO ANYWHERE ELSE. EXTREMELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. avoid this laundry mat and go to any other one in town. I have NEVER EVER in my life dealt with such horrible customer service from the minute I walked into the place until the minute I finally got to leave! I never write bad reviews ever because I usually just like to compliment people but this needs to be said because I am in shock at how I was treated. It was unacceptable and I cannot believe how my family and I were treated for no reason at all on our very first visit while our washer machine is getting fixed. To start off we walked in at 8:30pm and the sign on the door and everywhere online says 10:30pm is when they close But for some reason the doors were locked so the only lady working there which was yesterday February 7th 2018 Wednesday night said in Spanish to hurry because she is gonna be leaving and we have to put our clothes in the washer before 9 or we can't come in. She spoke Spanish that was extremely hard to understand and didn't speak a word of English nor understand it. We asked her if she could please let us know how it works there since it was our 1st time there and we have never done laundry at a laundry mat so we asked if she could help us politely and she acted like she didn't hear us and looked away so My husband went over to her to get her attention and after a while she came over and I told us what to do and we were asking about a coupon that we saw a flyer for on the wall and she said in Spanish to go to yelp or Google and get the application and fill it out And when we asked her what she meant by that and where to go she said Yelp or Google and fill out the application and show her and she was very rude about it and short and didn't explain it well at all. When i finally figured out what she meant.....it was to download Yelp and she wanted us to go on Facebook and like and follow them as well it check in on Yelp and then get the coupon on Yelp as well and show it to her so we did exactly what she said and exactly what Yelp said to do and it still wasn't good enough to her she said we needed to like or follow something else but she couldn't tell us what it was I don't even think she knew what she was talking about or just doesn't understand how Yelp works because she made no sense .....but I had originally wrote a pgood review on Facebook a good review on Yelp and but now I am changing this review Because I was treated so bad. Before this even happened with the coupon the machine had taken $5 of our money that was supposed to go to the card and I'm not sure what happened but we did not get that money she couldn't give it back to us nothing so on top of $6 per washer machine only already we were out $10 because you also have to buy a card to use in the machines. She said she would pay for some of the machines sense the machine for the laundry card took our money and she only paid $1.39 for one dryer. The washing machines were leaking everywhere in the store and when we alerted her that they were leaking she rolled her eyes and told us to stop the machine wait for it to drain and then restart the machine and that it's our fault we didn't push it in all the way whatever that means.While I was there the couple times that I needed to get her attention to get her help she would be talking on the phone or texting on her phone and acts like she didn't see us needing her help and she was just completely unprofessional and rude and not knowledgeable and not helpful. When someone is a customer specially NEW customer somewhere I believe the the people that work at the company should probably make the customer feel welcome and educate them on their services as well as treat them with respect and kindness. The whole time she was being rude my husband and I were just trying to be as nice as Possible and thank her for her time and apologize for any inconvenience and she was still just rude but I just tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because maybe she was having a bad night or who knows but it continued the whole time I was there and it wasn't right at all and I can't believe that she gets away with treating people like that. she has no People skills or customer service skills and does not know how to treat new or existing customers and help them get started. I also don't know why she locks the doors around 8:00 p.m. when the place closes at 10:30pm. she also just kept saying how she was going to leave before it was even 10pm. Super expensive and it charged me to use the bathroom and didn't even open the door, so when I asked the very rude attendant for help, she unlocked the door and said I should have just asked her instead of swiping my card LIKE IT TELLS ME TO and wouldn't give me money back.
