The Good-Conveniently located in the strip mall off Broadway between the UPS Store and a music store...ample parking. The work is fairly priced and it is decent quality. The Bad-BOTH ladies have awful demeanor, say NO way too frequently and don't seem to give a damn about anything. Their customer service is non existent and I hate going there. If zero stars were an option, that's what this experience deserves. I had a very unpleasant experience here today. From the moment I walked in, I was not greeted and was immediately told to go try my pants on. While she was pinning the pants, her attitude felt cold and irritated. When I came out to pay, I politely asked if a specific adjustment could be done. Instead of explaining calmly, she raised her voice and said, "Why do you come to a tailor?" which was rude and unnecessary. This could have easily been explained in a respectful way. Due to the poor customer service, I told her I would be taking my business elsewhere and i reached to grab my pants from the counter. At that point, she forcefully YANKED them out of my hands. I genuinely thought she was trying to keep my pants while still charging me, so I pulled them back since they belonged to me. She then kept yelling at my friend and i, the situation escalated because of how she spoke to us and physically grabbed my belongings. I yelled back in self-defense after feeling verbally attacked and physically confronted. This interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional. What should have been a simple tailoring visit turned into an uncomfortable and confrontational situation. I will not be returning and do not recommend this business based on customer service and how the situation was handled. read more

My husbands uniform for taekwondo was burned . when I asked about it, the two women began yelling at me and saying their iron doesn't burn. one women kept insisting that her iron doesn't burn cloth...(?). she insisted on SHOWING me by taking the already burned pants and putting the iron on them again. I'm a homemaker and know that irons WILL burn. I was made to look like a taker and dishonest. we have students we have referred to this business nd we'll retract that referral for sure. I mentioned this as I was leaving the store and one screamed I DONT CARE. i sure hope you have better luck with your experience and your property isnt damaged because you're out of luck at this place. as a customer you are NOT right and you do not come first. read more

In February 2025, I took a formal dress and matching jacket for alterations. The two women employees have poor communication skills (during drop off & pick up). The fee for alterations was $100. From drop off time to pick up was satisfactory. At pick-up, I thought the store smelled of cigarette smoke. I took my dress to a dry cleaner to have it ironed because that was not included in the alteration price. read more

This place is near my area and the reviews were good enough to give them a try. My visit today was the first. I needed two slacks and a dress shirt to be fixed up... The owner(I'm guessing) is an Asian lady, who took my order. She was kind of abrupt and gave off a rude-like demeanor. I could tell it's just her personality, nothing offending at all. She still smiled and said thank you, which is all I need. I paid $12 all together(which I think is affordable) and she told me to pick up my items by Tuesday from today. Which is a bit far fetched, I was expecting a quicker turn around... But not to complain here. I guess the real test is how well the job has been completed when I pick up my items. read more

This is the best alterations place in tucson! I went in to get 3 pants fixed around the waist, sew up a hole in one of the jeans, as well as shorten a gown I was wearing to a wedding. I was told Mendel's was a good place but oh boy, Mendel's prices were a bit ridiculous. I called this place in advanced and she mentioned she had to see my items to give me a price which was understandable. She allowed me to put on my clothes I was getting altered to get a better understanding of what I wanted. I did want my dress a bit shorter but she gave me some insight of having it a big longer since this was for a wedding. Boy was she right! I only had to wait a few days for it to be ready, which was shocking because I thought it would take about a week to fix. When I picked up my stuff, I immediately tried them on when I got home. I loved the length of the dress, it was perfect. And my jeans never looked so good on me lol. I definitely will be going here if I need anything fixed. Some of the best tailors I've worked with. I'm definitely a person that brings clothes in get more of a custom fit for off the rack clothes. So I worked with many tailors in California. Moving here to Tucson, I thought I wasn't going to be able to find a tailor that can do more than generic alterations. Then I found Tae. They're 2 sisters who are swamped with work and for good reason. Yes, there's no foreplay, they cut right to the chase and tell you to try the clothes on and they will assess what needs to be done. Once you're in front of the mirror they make suggestions on alterations. That's when you ask for specific requests if you have them. They will also make recommendations to save you money (like if it's not worth getting altered or whatever). They are up front about the pricing. Of course if you need a rush job, you will pay extra for it. Be reasonable, give them a week to alter a piece, otherwise expect to pay a premium, because as you'll see all their racks are full of clothes that came before you. You want to be at the front of the line? It's going to cost you. Finally, English isn't their first language but they understand it just fine. Be patient and cordial, it goes a long way. The negative reviews are from Karens that have unreasonable expectations. read more

I am not the type of person who goes to the tailor often, but I recently bought a nice dress that I really loved- the only problem was that it was a little loose in some places. Tae's did a great job, and the dress looks and fits much better. Now I am inclined to go through my wardrobe and see what else could use tailoring! During my first visit (the fitting) I described that I wanted the shoulder straps to be taken in. Then, the lady gave me suggestions on where to take it in around the waist. Honestly disappointed. I choose this place because all the high reviews, yet I was left very disappointed and frustrated. I took in two Halloween outfits to be altered. I was met with multiple personal comments about my decision to spend money on a costume, for one that's not anyone's business, for two if I want to make sure costumes fit my kids and I then be happy for the extra business. Then what I requested to be altered (taken in on seems at the hip, and shoulder on second item) wasn't agreed upon, flat out said she would do it. So I agreed to her choice. I've worked in a trailer shop so I respect their work and prices, however upon trying them on when we got home, I am fully disappointed. They basically look the same as they did before. read more

HORRIBLE. Took a skirt to be taken in on the sides at the waist. Rather than take in 3/4 inch on each side of the skirt, they took an entire 1-1/2 inch on only ONE side, making the skirt "lopsided". This tells me they are lazy, and they think we won't notice their sloppy work. Don't go here. You can probably do a better job yourself. read more

I asked to pick them up the same day after seeing the big hello and red sign in the window. I was told it would be more than usual. Where do I begin? I feel as if this business cheated me out of a poorly done service that I even paid for. From the beginning she was extremely rude and seemed as if she didn't even want to hem my curtains. After going back in forth on the original price I was quoted she finally agreed to do the job. When I came to pick up the curtains not only where they thrown into garage bags but not all of the curtains where even hemmed. I had a brand new pair of beautiful draperies that needed to be hemmed and I brought them to Tae's only to find that they were hemmed with a 2-inch difference in each of the two panels that were a pair. I brought them back and the proprietor was very abrupt and rude to me and told me she would fix them and have them done the next day. They were wrong again and she was rude again. It's not worth any money if they destroy the drapes and continue to do it wrong...with an attitude!!! read more

Took a pair of carpenter pants there to get 2 inches hemmed off the bottom. Only took 8 minutes and they did a great job. I'm only giving 4 stars though because they charged me $10, which I thought was steep for the work performed. Other hemmers charge $4-5 for the same work. read more

Pricing and quality is comparable to other small tailor shops in the area. Be sure you immediately leave after you pay. "A little brusque" is only if there aren't any problems. If you pay and then try on your clothes and they are busy they may confuse your money with another client and ask you to pay again. I went here after reading excellent reviews. Tae was abrupt with me but I took it in stride. I entrusted her with my wedding dress and she hacked it. She totally screwed up the sleeves so that they actually twisted. I luckily found Mahla at AK Tailors, who for the same price fixed my dress. Tae also tailored 2 jackets too tightly so they don't even fit anymore. I don't like to give negative reviews, but I feel the need to share my underwhelming experience. I never knew this little place was a few doors down from my grocery store until a colleague recommended it. It's a treasure! The ladies in the shop can be a little brusque but they do the work quickly and well, and I think the prices are incredibly reasonable. I'd been taking gowns to Mendel's Wife for years to be hemmed, usually for at least $40 each.
