This owner is disingenuous; dis-honorable; unfair and highly incompetent. He demands Cash up front - the shop can't take credit cards - are they actually legit? The first time they repaired a broken heel and the second visit I had two pairs of boots repaired (one the back heel repaired and the second, replaced the soles). I don't remember how much I paid for the heel repair but for two pairs of boots I paid $75 which considering the cost of materials they aren't charging much for their labour. Both repairs are well done, I'm super satisfied. The best thing about this shop is the family that owns the business. It's a father and two sons. Their positivity and passion for their trade is enough to make your day. That might sound really cheesy but if you go there you'll know what I'm talking about! I'll be back to bring back other leather belts that I want to fix and shorten. They let me know that they can fix almost anything, the guy told me that they just repaired a canvas tarp so that should help explain with what type of stuff they can repair. They are located in Marlborough Mall, the shop is actually tucked behind the mall bathrooms, so walk in that direction and you'll see the shop at the end of the hall. I remember them being there when I was a kid, so it's been around for a while! This is the type of mom and pop shop that Calgary should support, this isn't some random hipster start-up but a genuine long-standing business that provides a real service! (The only reason I'm giving 4 stars to this place is they have a woman working at the desk that you have to deal with...I only saw her the second time, so I hope she's not around permanently. She was pretty petty with no concept of how her disposition hurt the business' reputation to new patrons, if they only were to deal with her.) Other than that aspect, I don't hold anything against who will actually performs the repairs. I hope I can do my part to get the word out for these guys, they deserve it!
