I found the owner very kind and sweet. Despite it always being busy, he takes the time to chat with me. As for paying before you pick up your stuff, I personally don't mind. The charge is upfront and makes it easy to just pick it up when it's ready. Also, prepaying is an incentive to come and pick up your items and not forget it.

I brought them carefully and neatly stacked in a box with cloths in between so that they didn't touch the other shoes more than necessary. He accused me of bringing them in like that and I showed him the same box I brought them in with as I brought it to use the same way to get the shoes home. Had no respect for my property at all. Actually one pair of shoes were damaged from this lack of handling and I was furious as they had never been worn. To top it off, had to pay over $200 for the privilege! Totally over priced. I did not mask my displeasure and stated I would NEVER be back!

Later I met the owner, Bashar, and he gave me his full attention even though it was extremely busy at the time. Top notch service and they also had great shoes. I walked in the front door and down the stairs and was immediately greeted by an older gentleman, who I suspect is probably the owner. I showed him the broken strap and he assured me that they could fix it, and that it would take about 2 days. He told me $30 to which I balked at (the bag was from Value Village originally...) and he dropped it to $20. Great. You do need to pre-pay here and they give you a pickup slip. I was then sick for the next few days and he called me twice to make sure I knew when they were closing for the holidays so that i could pick it up beforehand. When I came back the bag was ready and I couldn't tell which one had been broken before. In short: super convenient location for repairs, but not necessarily the cheapest.

I've had the nice ladies at Westhills Alterations hem pants before, but I'm sure most tailors can at least fake their way through that basic task. But the day I picked up my expensive pair of jeans that I had them completely overhaul and they were a perfect fit was the day that my trust began in earnest. My lady has also used them to alter cocktail and casual dresses, and has been very happy with the results. Considering I am totally inept at sewing myself, their prices fit their work.
