THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOW VALLEY SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN…read more This place is my "go to" shoe place in Calgary. The owner Tran is really good at what he does. He cares for all my high end designer shoes (Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo, Ferragamo, etc). If I ever had a problem, he always took care of it. Recently, I had gave him my Jill Sander's leather jacket and he was able to bring back the luster in the jacket through polishing - suggested by his professional opinion. I can't say enough good things about this place.

No line up to drop the bag off, polite service, inexpensive and the bag was finished a day before it was promised to be which saved us an extra trip downtown before our vacation! When I went to pick up the shoes the job was only half done, only one of the shoes having been reinforced as intended. I questioned the gentleman and he told me that this is what we had agreed to originally. This was completely untrue. If you decide to get your shoes repaired here be sure to get everything in writing or record your conversation with the clerk so you have some proof when the result is not as expected. That he tried to imply I was in the wrong made me very unhappy. Be careful.

It's nice to walk in and pay for a service and walk out smiling. The price was also great, to fix 2 pairs of my boots and make them brand new, was given a deal for $40. Should have been $50 and will be glad to pay full price here anytime. Try them out you will be glad you did!!

Later I met the owner, Bashar, and he gave me his full attention even though it was extremely busy at the time. Top notch service and they also had great shoes. They seem to only carry the top sellers and best value shoes because I loved all of them. I didn't even need new shoes but I bought two nice pairs for great prices.

I want to put these guys on the map (literally). I've been back twice and both times I'm so…read moreimpressed with the service they provide. The first time they repaired a broken heel and the second visit I had two pairs of boots repaired (one the back heel repaired and the second, replaced the soles). I don't remember how much I paid for the heel repair but for two pairs of boots I paid $75 which considering the cost of materials they aren't charging much for their labour. Both repairs are well done, I'm super satisfied. The best thing about this shop is the family that owns the business. It's a father and two sons. Their positivity and passion for their trade is enough to make your day. That might sound really cheesy but if you go there you'll know what I'm talking about! I'll be back to bring back other leather belts that I want to fix and shorten. They let me know that they can fix almost anything, the guy told me that they just repaired a canvas tarp so that should help explain with what type of stuff they can repair. They are located in Marlborough Mall, the shop is actually tucked behind the mall bathrooms, so walk in that direction and you'll see the shop at the end of the hall. I remember them being there when I was a kid, so it's been around for a while! This is the type of mom and pop shop that Calgary should support, this isn't some random hipster start-up but a genuine long-standing business that provides a real service! (The only reason I'm giving 4 stars to this place is they have a woman working at the desk that you have to deal with...I only saw her the second time, so I hope she's not around permanently. She was pretty petty with no concept of how her disposition hurt the business' reputation to new patrons, if they only were to deal with her.) Other than that aspect, I don't hold anything against who will actually performs the repairs. I hope I can do my part to get the word out for these guys, they deserve it!

I walked in the front door and down the stairs and was immediately greeted by an older gentleman, who I suspect is probably the owner. I showed him the broken strap and he assured me that they could fix it, and that it would take about 2 days. He told me $30 to which I balked at (the bag was from Value Village originally...) and he dropped it to $20. Great. You do need to pre-pay here and they give you a pickup slip. I was then sick for the next few days and he called me twice to make sure I knew when they were closing for the holidays so that i could pick it up beforehand. When I came back the bag was ready and I couldn't tell which one had been broken before. In short: super convenient location for repairs, but not necessarily the cheapest.

I brought them carefully and neatly stacked in a box with cloths in between so that they didn't touch the other shoes more than necessary. He accused me of bringing them in like that and I showed him the same box I brought them in with as I brought it to use the same way to get the shoes home. Had no respect for my property at all. Actually one pair of shoes were damaged from this lack of handling and I was furious as they had never been worn. To top it off, had to pay over $200 for the privilege! Totally over priced. I did not mask my displeasure and stated I would NEVER be back!
