This studio has been my happy place, my safe haven, and my sanctuary ever since purchasing my unlimited 1-year membership. I come from a 13+ year dance background and had tried pole dance classes a handful of times before deciding to purchase my membership. That said, you do not need to have an athletic/dance background or be any specific age to try pole dance or aerial arts, since pole is for EVERY body and every level of athletic ability. After going through a rough end to 2019, I was looking for a new hobby to occupy my time. I wanted something that would challenge me both physically and mentally. While pole dance is difficult can be painful at first, through excellent coaching and mental perseverance, I have transformed my body, gained strength, self-love, and have met incredible humans from all walks of life. I came for the workout and stayed for the vibes. This studio offers all kinds of unique classes with new classes constantly being added to the schedule. Pole choreography, tricks, spins, conditioning/fitness, technique, burlesque, belly dance, aerial silks, lyra hoop, flexibility, flow props, and so much more. There are classes offered at all times of the day to accommodate any schedule (including evenings and weekends for my fellow m-f 9-5 working folks). There are also so many options for purchasing classes. Just go to the website and you'll see that you can pay for an individual class, package of classes, or monthly, 6-month, or 1-year unlimited membership. Registration is through the MINDBODY app/website which is super easy to use. First timers, get there early so you have time to street park. There are specific shoes made just for pole dancing so don't bring any street heels. If you want to try dancing in pole heels (which you totally should even if it seems intimidating), there are plenty of all sizes and styles to try! I recommend boots over sandals for extra ankle support and stability. The instructors here are so kind and encouraging. I've tried to take classes with almost every instructor and have found that I've learned something new and different from everyone. Try taking classes with different instructors and you will surely find ones that you connect with! The studio hosts showcase performances a few times a year where students and instructors can invite family and friends to see their art. This is a really fun time to bond with other folks at the studio and perform! The environment is so welcoming, you feel like you're part of the seventh dimension family the second you walk in the door. Coach Katelyn C took advantage of me, acrually the whole team at SD dance rubbed me the wrong way for some reason... This studio is EVERYTHING! We had the best time celebrating a bachelorette with Harmony. She totally read our group and personalized the pole dancing class just for us. I have a background in dance but I'm an absolute beginner on the pole. I am also closer to my 40s than my 20s and thought all these things would be a problem. They weren't! The instructors I had at this studio were some of the kindest and most supportive I have ever had! They listened to all my questions, helped with all my "problems" and encouraged me to keep at it. I think I've found my newest hobby! Harmony was an UHHHHHH-mazing instructor and with the sweetest personality. We came here for a bachelorette party and it was SO much fun!! Harmony was so easy and great to work with from booking to the actual class. We discussed an at home lap dance class or a pole dancing class in the studio. We eventually choose the pole dancing, but I think we would have had so much fun with either option. Harmony is the sweetest dance teacher I have ever had! She is incredibly patient and always in great spirits. Pole is an incredible work out but also an absolute blast! I stopped in to check out a belly dancing class and a pole dancing class, and I was instantaneously hooked! I've been back every chance that I get, and highly recommend both for beginners and more experienced dancers! Harmony is a fantastic, upbeat instructor. She does a wonderful job of teaching a class full of students of varying levels of experience and making sure that everyone has something to work on. The other student and the atmosphere of the studio is welcoming, friendly, and private. I was unsure how comfortable I would be trying a pole dancing class, and felt self conscious going in, but once I met the instructor and began the class I felt more and more at ease. There are also curtains on the windows, so if you're self conscious, private, or concerned about creepy onlookers there's no need to worry! Harmony was absolutely amazing in her instruction, as well as her ability to make myself and friends feel comfortable in a very new experience of learning to pole dance. I attended a bachelorette party for my sister in which this class was arranged. When I first walked in, I was extremely nervous and very resistant to participate as I am 44. She had wine, cheese and crackers, chocolate which was nicely arranged on the table. Harmony spent a good amount of time talking with me about the purpose of the class to be empowering and accepting myself for who I am, no matter what age or body type. This completely changed my mind and I decided to join the class; my stigma was completely erased. She was encouraging throughout, especially when she could sense others were uncomfortable or unsure. I highly, highly recommend this class for anyone, whether bachelorette party or just as a work out. If I lived locally, I would take classes from Harmony.
