A simple policy or announcement would go a long way, but instead, they offered a vague, dismissive response. I find this lack of action concerning and irresponsible. If your priority is your child's safety, I recommend finding a studio that takes it seriously and sets clear boundaries around filming.

That said, you do not need to have an athletic/dance background or be any specific age to try pole dance or aerial arts, since pole is for EVERY body and every level of athletic ability. After going through a rough end to 2019, I was looking for a new hobby to occupy my time. I wanted something that would challenge me both physically and mentally. While pole dance is difficult can be painful at first, through excellent coaching and mental perseverance, I have transformed my body, gained strength, self-love, and have met incredible humans from all walks of life. I came for the workout and stayed for the vibes. This studio offers all kinds of unique classes with new classes constantly being added to the schedule. Pole choreography, tricks, spins, conditioning/fitness, technique, burlesque, belly dance, aerial silks, lyra hoop, flexibility, flow props, and so much more. There are classes offered at all times of the day to accommodate any schedule (including evenings and weekends for my fellow m-f 9-5 working folks). There are also so many options for purchasing classes. Just go to the website and you'll see that you can pay for an individual class, package of classes, or monthly, 6-month, or 1-year unlimited membership. Registration is through the MINDBODY app/website which is super easy to use. First timers, get there early so you have time to street park. There are specific shoes made just for pole dancing so don't bring any street heels. If you want to try dancing in pole heels (which you totally should even if it seems intimidating), there are plenty of all sizes and styles to try! I recommend boots over sandals for extra ankle support and stability. The instructors here are so kind and encouraging. I've tried to take classes with almost every instructor and have found that I've learned something new and different from everyone. Try taking classes with different instructors and you will surely find ones that you connect with! The studio hosts showcase performances a few times a year where students and instructors can invite family and friends to see their art. This is a really fun time to bond with other folks at the studio and perform! The environment is so welcoming, you feel like you're part of the seventh dimension family the second you walk in the door. I saw that they were offering outdoor classes at Oak Park so I began coming to classes every week or so and saw so much improvement in my dancing, styling, and confidence. They were finally able to reopen for social dance nights at the studio (or sometimes at local venues like SoHo) so I started going to those and have had so much fun. Before the social, they offer a partner bachata class for all levels (no partner needed) so that anyone can feel confident going into the social knowing some foundations. The socials always have a live DJ and draw in a crowd of all ages from all over Santa Barbara and neighboring cities. The party goes all night long and is a great way to get some serious cardio on, and meet folks in the community. The studio has three different sized dance floors that can be used to hold simultaneous classes or the spaces can be opened and combined. They also rent out studio space to other dance instructors and groups so you might find other classes at ME Sabor like yoga, samba, hip hop, heels, or aerial hammock. The directors Marco and Erika bring skill, passion, and energy to their classes. Instructors Jonathan and Angela make you feel supported no matter what level you're at when you come in the doors. They offer all kinds of dance classes but are most known for their salsa footwork and bachata partner dancing classes. They also offer folklorico, private lessons, teen and kids classes, and choreograph for weddings, quinceañeras, and other special events.
