In today's world, where recordings of young girls can end up misused online, I expected more awareness and safeguards from the management. A simple policy or announcement would go a long way, but instead, they offered a vague, dismissive response. I find this lack of action concerning and irresponsible. If your priority is your child's safety, I recommend finding a studio that takes it seriously and sets clear boundaries around filming.

I saw that they were offering outdoor classes at Oak Park so I began coming to classes every week or so and saw so much improvement in my dancing, styling, and confidence. They were finally able to reopen for social dance nights at the studio (or sometimes at local venues like SoHo) so I started going to those and have had so much fun. Before the social, they offer a partner bachata class for all levels (no partner needed) so that anyone can feel confident going into the social knowing some foundations. The socials always have a live DJ and draw in a crowd of all ages from all over Santa Barbara and neighboring cities. The party goes all night long and is a great way to get some serious cardio on, and meet folks in the community. The studio has three different sized dance floors that can be used to hold simultaneous classes or the spaces can be opened and combined. They also rent out studio space to other dance instructors and groups so you might find other classes at ME Sabor like yoga, samba, hip hop, heels, or aerial hammock. The directors Marco and Erika bring skill, passion, and energy to their classes. Instructors Jonathan and Angela make you feel supported no matter what level you're at when you come in the doors. They offer all kinds of dance classes but are most known for their salsa footwork and bachata partner dancing classes. They also offer folklorico, private lessons, teen and kids classes, and choreograph for weddings, quinceañeras, and other special events. They often host specialized workshops on weekends where they bring in world-renowned dancers from all over which are open to the public. I've had an awesome time taking these workshops and have been able to learn so much. ME Sabor also leads various dance teams which travel to different festivals and perform. What an amazing venue. The outside is beautiful with a lovely marquee. The lobby is small, but…read morepeacefully decorated. There is an orchestra level as well as a balcony level and when you walk into the theater space it is beautiful. The stage is large. The theater holds a lot of people. The ticket takers and ushers were extremely friendly and more than happy to help in anyway you can. Just off the lobby there are men's and women's restrooms that have about two stalls in each. There are more restrooms and larger restrooms upstairs. The seats are very soft and cushiony and comfortable to sit in for longer periods of time. There was not a ton of legroom so if you are a taller person, I suggest getting an aisle seat. We went to the event, called an evening with the dude screaming the movie the big Lebowski where we watched the movie, then Jeff Bridges came out, shared stories photographs, and answered questions about the movie. It started I believe at six and went went on for several hours to a sold out crowd. With that being said, the theater never felt too congested to where you could not move and get around. They also offer a small concession stand, and you can bring food and drink to your seat. However, there is no outside food and drink permitted. Definitely love this little theater and I will for sure check out more events there in the future.
