I'm a seasoned pole dancer who regularly trains at another studio in the SFV, but I decided to try…read moreout Rock n Pole since it's close to work and I wanted to get more pole time in. Before even attending, I had messaged directly with Cleo and made it clear that I wasn't a beginner -- I even asked about taking "high intermediate" in case the "pole tricks" class was full, and she said she could place me in that class. So my level was known ahead of time. I signed up and took an intermediate class ("Heavy Metal Hoes" with Cleo). It was more choreo-heavy than I'm used to, but I showed up and gave it my best. During class, Cleo called me out and suggested I take an 8-week course because the other students had been in that specific class for years. I brushed it off at the time -- I understand instructors wanting consistency. After class, I approached her to cancel my membership (purely for financial reasons), and that's when things got uncomfortable. Instead of simply helping me cancel, she grew defensive and began justifying the studio's pricing by pointing out her lighting and pole options -- even though I had never complained about any of that. She then stated that just because I'm intermediate at my studio doesn't mean I'm intermediate at hers, and wrapped things up by telling me her therapist had explained the difference between sympathy and empathy, and that she was "trying to sympathize" with me. The comment felt unnecessary and condescending. What really stood out to me, though, was that when I later spoke with one of her employees, she suggested I could just avoid taking classes when Cleo was there rather than canceling. That alone told me my experience wasn't an isolated one -- clearly, others have had similar issues if staff are already prepared with that kind of workaround. To give credit where it's due: the studio is gorgeous, the students seem supportive of one another, and the community energy is strong. But my personal interaction with Cleo left a bad taste. Canceling a membership shouldn't turn into an uncomfortable lecture or a psychological evaluation. I hope this was just a one-off, but based on what I've seen and heard, it may be a recurring issue. Edit to respond to Cleo's edit that she just left 10/14: Hi Cleo, I mentioned the therapist comment because it felt out of place in the situation and came across as condescending. All I was trying to do was cancel my membership, but the way our conversation unfolded made me feel pressured to stay, which added to the negative experience. Also, I'd prefer that details about the other studio I attend not be shared publicly, as that's private to me.

The energy of this studio and all of the instructors who I have taken class from are FANTASTIC…read more Huge shoutout to Cleo, the studio owner!! I have been taking class with her for a year. She is an incredible dancer and instructor - she makes each new move approachable, and creates such a fun and inclusive environment. I always get a fantastic workout and a good laugh. :-) I appreciate her emphasis on proper technique while also cultivating the most welcoming and open space to share the joy of self expression through dance. She takes the time to check in with you, make sure you get individual instruction as needed, and encourages you to strengthen your body and embrace your femininity. 10/10.

I have been to several classes here but have only taken pole choreo classes, so I'm not sure how the pole tricks classes are. All of the teachers I've taken from here have been wonderful and they do an amazing job of breaking down all of the moves and teaching any tricks that are incorporated into the dance. I have learned how to create more fluidity in my dances here. The space is on the smaller side as there is only one studio inside, but the poles are spaced far enough apart that you don't feel claustrophobic in a full class. The lobby is also great and comfortable to wait in and they sell some apparel and shoes there. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming here, from the students to the teachers.

I was surprised at how much we learned during the hour and fifteen minute class. Even the basics were quite the sweat session but in the best way ever. The instructor was so encouraging and the entire vibe of the class was great! I highly recommend checking out this studio, I'm sure you'll have as much fun as I did. I'm planning to go back some time in the next few weeks to hopefully continue to take more new face courses just for fun. Only drawback was parking- it's very limited and since it's near Gasolina cafe it's a popular spot so make sure to come early enough to find a spot.

I flopped around on the silks like a pigeon caught in barbed wire. The next day my whole body was sore but the class was fun so I decided to go again. Week 2: Learning new moves. I think I started this 30 years too late to make it Cirque De Soleil but I like it so I'll keep going. It feels like my posture is getting better. Week 3: My clothes are fitting better. I've lost at least an inch off my stomach. Week 4: Very little cramping at that time of the month compared to normal. Week 5: This is addictive, I feel like I need more of this new drug. Every tree I see becomes potentially climbable. Week 6: Come to think of it that pain in my neck and shoulders that was there for years hasn't been there since I started this. Week 7: This might be some kind of Benjamin Button thing because I feel younger. Week 8: Monthly cramping is gone. I feel mentally sharper. I've discovered the fountain of youth. Granted all of these are the effects of exercise, but I find just going to the gym and doing the same thing over and over to be boring. With acrobatics there is always something new to learn.

We just came to have fun there was no free play. I don't believe she smiled once. I get someone having an off day but that is when you professionally apologize. We drove 2 hours to deal with her stale attitude. After about 45 minutes of her bad vibe I stopped and was stretching and her response was you have about 15 minutes if you are done let me get you out of your harness and you guys can go. We paid $150 for a two person class and after asked if there was a water fountain and she said no but you can buy water for $1. Really $150 and you can't comp a bottle of your off brand generic water?!!! So what to know if she's having a good day ... She has different harnesses some are more comfortable than others. I would not recommend the class if you are looking for fun. I could see it being good for someone who is looking for technique.

I found it great that this new-ish studio has beautiful high ceilings and a $20 introductory offer for first time fliers, so I hastily booked the class. They have a very user friendly website with convenient online sign up for both their group classes and semi-private and private lessons. In this late night class (8:14-9:45pm), there were two students including myself. The other student (Belle) also happens to be one of the aerialist instructors! So it was nice to basically be surrounded by experts. Class starts out with light stretching... and when I mean light, I mean light. Lol! When I return I'll be sure to stretch a bit on my own. I do like that there is plenty of time to work on the silk and because the class size is so small, you get to be up flying for even longer. Sepida is really good at recognizing your strengths and challenges and is sure to communicate ALWAYS to see how you are feeling. Tired? Take a rest and stretch. Ready for more? Get up and be challenged! There is also water and pretzels in case you need a little more hydration or salt! Make sure to bring your skid resistant socks for class, they are required! Otherwise you can buy some from them for $5 (toe socks or no toe socks)! Can't wait to go back!

The classroom instruction was just as good. They were patient, clear, and genuinely engaged. You can tell they enjoy what they do.
