As the Treasurer of our HOA Board -- and a real estate Controller by profession -- I've worked closely with our community manager, Matt, and I can confidently say he is exceptional. From day one, the transition to MSI was seamless. They rolled up their sleeves, dove straight into the nitty‑gritty, and handled everything from homeowner portal changes to vendor coordination with impressive speed and accuracy. I was genuinely amazed by how quickly they caught up to speed. By the time we received our second set of financials, they were already making thoughtful observations and forward‑looking projections that even we hadn't yet identified. Matt brings a rare blend of diligence, responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine empathy. He's incredibly thorough, communicates clearly, and approaches every situation with a level of care that truly stands out. Working with him is not only productive -- it's a pleasure. MSI also excels in an area that's especially important to me: financial management. Their reporting is timely, accurate, and impressively detailed. It's rare in this industry to find a management company with this level of financial expertise. Not a single thing gets past them, and that precision has made my role as Treasurer so much smoother. On top of that, MSI has delivered real financial value. We've seen improved quality from our contracted vendors and cost savings. Even during our recent insurance renewal -- where we had to enter the excess and surplus market -- Matt and the MSI team still managed to secure us a better rate than expected. Their knowledge and proactive approach have made a meaningful difference for our budget and long‑term planning. After years of inconsistency and frustration, MSI has brought stability, clarity, and a refreshing level of professionalism to our HOA. Matt's leadership shines through in everything he does, and we are truly grateful for the partnership. Highly recommend MSI -- and especially Matt -- to any community looking for exceptional, trustworthy, and financially savvy HOA management.

Advance HOA Management - Ceiling stains from the roof leak this past June, because ZERO maintenance has been done on the roof since November 2021

Turns out the leak came from a chimney pan that wasn't caulked correctly. The roofing company that had repaired it the year before was great and covered all my expenses & repairs. BUT NOW, I have a mark on my insurance (even though it was a zero claim) that is costing me $400 more a year because my HOA didn't come out, look and help me for more than 3 weeks.

GARBAGE HOA! My husband and I were renting a condo in a complex that went through several HOA's and…read morethen this one. All of them were pretty bad and Advance HOA was no exception. Terrible communication (IF you're lucky enough to get any notice at all!) including signs posted at the last minute saying you can't park in your assigned spot for xyz reason and if you do you'll be towed, then changes in schedule so you've moved your car to the street for nothing, then no notification about when the rescheduled work will be done, etc. etc. Not long before we left, we contacted Advance HOA Mgmt regarding putting up a small removable wire fence (the kind you stick in the ground around your flower beds, costs like $20) because the neighbor's dog kept coming onto our patio and being chased by said neighbor, who was an unstable person we didn't want around. After explaining the situation to the HOA, they said we'd need to fill out an ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT FORM -- for a freaking wire fence you poke into the ground! The form was ridiculous: it asked for dimensions, time needed for construction (!), BLUEPRINTS, the whole nine yards. Most of it was totally irrelevant. Then we had to submit it and wait THIRTY (30) DAYS for a response, while the board and whoever "voted" on it. Okay, I get that if you're actually rebuilding your patio/balcony or constructing a gazebo or something, but come on. As it turns out, over the next month we found a new home and moved out, not once ever hearing back on the "decision" regarding the wire fence. Lack of communication is by far the biggest issue with Advance HOA Management, but there are many more, too many to waste my time writing about here. Good riddance.

Historically, my wife has handled most communication with Hammersmith when issues arise. She has often mentioned how difficult it is to get a response from the management company after leaving several voicemails and sending several emails to Hammersmith, but until recently--when I personally had to reach out--I did not fully understand the level of frustration she had been experiencing. Unfortunately, my experience has confirmed her concerns. Over the past month, I have attempted to contact Hammersmith numerous times by phone. Despite calling multiple times per day and leaving several voicemails requesting a return call, I have only been able to reach a live person one time. At one point, I even began counting the number of unanswered calls aloud in a voicemail simply to emphasize the lack of response and my growing frustration. To this day, I am still waiting for a return call. Given this experience, I was honestly surprised to see that Hammersmith currently holds a 3.6 rating. Based on the communication issues I have encountered, that rating seems unexpectedly high. If someone from Hammersmith actually reads and responds to these reviews, I would sincerely appreciate a call back. It would be impressive to know that someone took the time to listen to one of the many voicemails I have already left--each containing my contact information--rather than requiring me to provide it yet again. More importantly, I would like to know how this communication breakdown is going to be addressed and corrected moving forward. Residents deserve a management company that is accessible and responsive when assistance is needed, especially when part of their job is to work with their customers availability. I truly feel for the customers of Hammersmith who may be experiencing the same frustrations with communication and lack of responsiveness.

I have no idea what we as home owners are paying for. Hector takes the cake as the most rude, disrespectful and unprofessional person I have ever come across. rats were invading multiple garages, having nested in a pond in the community and they made me fight tooth and nail for help. I asked for help regarding a neighbor who allows there dog to use the bathroom all over their patio, which really affects the ability to enjoy my own especially on hot days, I got no help. new mailboxes were installed and keys were supposed to be handed out, no one was there at the time / place specified by service plus, they returned that weekend, likely due to so many complaints by so many homeowners and then gave me the wrong key, having to call me and catch me end of day to fix their mistake, when I gave feedback regarding my frustration in having left work early one day to get said key and no one from this company being there, only to have to wait until the weekend and was then given the wrong key, they told me someone from service plus had come back out "as a courtesy." never taking responsibility or aiming to improve. this company is a parasite. do not use them.

A few months ago, I reported that the railing on the stairs to the front door had rusted through and broken. I sent photographs and described how the broken railing posed a safety risk and requested that they fix or replace it. Nothing happened to fix the railing. I spoke with Danny, the individual responsible for managing the complex. Nothing happened to fix the railing. Whenever I called back, he was unavailable. Finally, I spoke with Ron, Danny's supervisor, and a few days later the rail was welded. A few days after that the weld failed, and the rail was once again not attached and posed a safety risk. I called again. The woman who answered the phone told me I needed to put in an online work order request. After some discussion, she was very nice and told me that she had put in a work order for me. Nothing happened. I called back and spoke with Danny, who told me the work order was never put into the system. He submitted a new work order and informed me that someone would be out on October 28, to fix the rail. Predictably, on October 28, nothing happened. It is now November 6, and I have called multiple times since October 28. I still have no idea when or if they will fix the railing. It should not take 10 phone calls to get a broken stairway railing fixed. this is a safety issue, especially with snowy weather approaching, and failure to address the problem after 10 phone calls is malfeasance.
