Had Mike, Stephanie and team (Nick) service my VP pods last year and in turn this year. I found them to provide exceptional service. My boat needed an Alternator on my Galeon and it was ordered, delivered and installed all within the time frame quoted. Price quotes were provided prior to any work starting. Mike even addressed professionally my concern for alarms generated and then cleared by their worked performed. All is well and very satisfied with their professionalism. I stored my 2003 34' SeaRay with them over the winter and asked them to do a pretty complicated upgrade in the electrical system. Basically I had them remove the Electronic Integration Module (EIM) and replace it with an analog control system from FP Marine. The EIM was failing and there is no replacement but FP marine has a pre-wired system where all the dash controls are replaced. Along with winterization, this project and re-packing the rudders and spring commissioning everything was done with care, on time and within budget. I could not be happier as I have had other "professionals" in the past years do shoddy work, over budget and months past the work complete dates. Stephanie and Mike were a joy to work with and will be hired to do a few more upgrades soon. My wife is thrilled as we were planning on selling the boat in the fall and now she wants to have Seven Seas do more upgrades and keep her for a few more years. The infamous Mike Weddell speaks... Dishonest and Disreputable to the core while still laughing about the fact that he got away with concealing dangerous mechanical problems with my boat and endangering my family. Everything in my original review about what Mike Weddell did to my boat is factual and true. I've received several responses since posting my original review from other boat owners with similar horror stories who told me that Mike had either done shoddy repairs on their boat, or had charged them thousands of dollars for repairs that didn't fix their problem and then refused to stand by his work. So my experience with his shady business practices obviously wasn't an isolated incident. Just "business as usual" for Mike. Mike Weddell is either the most incompetent and clueless marine mechanic on the Chesapeake Bay because he issues clean bills of health on boats that have major mechanical problems... Or he willfully, knowingly, negligently, and remorselessly endangers his customers by sending them out in boats without informing them of dangerous issues... My experience with Mike entailed the latter scenario. Even in his snide response to my review a little truth filters through his lies... He couldn't bring himself to actually say that he didn't know about the damages that he found and then covered up. He laughs about his: "...service department for not telling [me] what they MAY have found wrong with it..." and that since the surveyor didn't catch the problem he felt he had no obligation to reveal the damages he found. There are plenty of honest marine mechanics around the bay. Mike Weddell isn't one of them. read more

I had my first experience with Seven Seas Yacht Services last week. I was contracted to deliver a boat from Annapolis to Kent Island for service. The owner has been struggling for two and a half years with a problem diagnosed by multiple marine services as a starboard engine failure. While I initially agreed with that diagnosis some fiddling about (what else was I going to do at 8 mph?) led me to believe quite strongly the problem was with the automatic power trim. Overriding the computer (the "hit it with a stick" approach) seemed to confirm this. Seven Seas Yacht Services had been contracted to work on the engine. They accepted my diagnosis, circled back to the owner for permission to spend time on the trim possibility and working in concert with reference resources from the factory addressed the problem. The boat runs as it should for the first time since the owner bought it two and a half years ago. The delivery back from Kent Island to Annapolis yesterday was great. What a boat! There are some minor residual issues that are not a surprise for something this complex. I'm just the delivery skipper but they have had the courtesy to keep me in the loop. I would not hesitate to recommend Seven Seas Yacht Services to any of my own customers. read more

Brought my boat to them after having a collision effecting my outdrive. I could not be happier with the way I was treated, the personal attention they paid to my boat, and the professional expertise demonstrated by their mechanics and office staff. I certainly hope I don't have another catastrophic event like the one that brought me to Seven Seas, but I would certainly bring my boat back to them for any service needed. They are exceptional and extremely capable. I highly recommend them for most any boat related problem. UPDATE. Since my last review everything they repaired has had to be redone, without insurance this time, at a cost of over $15,000! Poor workmanship, a bit of lying, and putting the boat back in the water before I could examine the work contributed to this nightmare. Stay away from this joint. Awful. Wish I'd never given them a good review. My bad and an expensive lesson. read more
