Other doctors brushed it off, but Dr. Houman took the time to truly listen and explain how varicoceles can cause pain and impact sperm quality and hormones. His depth of expertise in microsurgical varicocele repair and testicular pain treatment is obvious. He was thorough, honest, and never pushed unnecessary treatment. The care felt very precise and highly specialized. Since treatment, my testicular pain has significantly improved and my fertility testing showed significant improvement! Just as important, I finally felt confident and supported throughout the process. If you're dealing with varicoceles, chronic testicular pain, or infertility and want a urologist who genuinely specializes in men's health, I highly recommend Dr. Houman.

We were flying back from San Franciso and they were booked solid, but the staff understood the urgency and gave us the first cancellation later that afternoon. Dr. Houman saw me immediately; quickly understood the issue at hand, personally swung into action, and ten minutes later had the situation under complete control. He wrote a prescription, gave me exact instructions what to do and what to look for over the next few days, and scheduled a follow-up appointment a few days later. A week later, the issue is in the rear view mirror and I have urologist for life. Dr. Houman is down to earth, very personal, and clearly cheering you on for success. His entire staff follow his lead - a terrific group of healthcare professionals.

Dr. Bellman made it a point to explain the procedure, walk through the paperwork, and explain the ins and outs of the procedure. The office staff, without pressure, allowed me to schedule at my leisure and requested date. The procedure itself was a quick and painless. Myself, opted in for the nitrous as a precaution, but before I knew it Dr. Bellman had completed his work and I was on the road to recovery. I have had no pain, iced for only the first two days, and needed no Tylenol. Procedure was done at 4:30p on a Thursday. I took Friday off as a precaution - but honestly could've come back to the office Friday. Kudos to the entire team for taking an uncomfortable (no pun intended) conversation/procedure and making it an experience worth recommending to anybody considering having it done. Cheers Dr. Bellman and Staff!

Overall, it just felt like a well run office with people who actually care about what they're doing and how their patients feel. Definitely recommend.

I honestly wonder why some people go into the medical field. You REALLY don't have to. I promise. I…read moregot my time wasted today while in EXCRUCIATING PAIN with my left hand. Literally out of nowhere, my hand began hurting Friday afternoon. By Sunday morning, I could barely move my ring finger. The pain? 8.5 out of 10. I have an EXTREMELY high pain tolerance level, which I alert anyone medical I'm dealing with to immediately. After going to urgent care yesterday, I was referred to Dr. Blumenthal because she's supposedly a hand specialist. An X-ray was taken of my hand at urgent care & there's some sort of fragment between the bones of my middle & ring fingers. It could be bone, a growth, or a cyst.. a tumor whatever. An X-ray can just see it, not diagnose it. At urgent, they gave me a very nice, snug wrap, and my referral/ X-ray results in prep for today. So fine. I see THIS doctor today. Her nurse comes in and takes off the wrap... SKYROCKETING my pain to a nearly unbearable level... & says, "Were going to get you a new dressing." Tosses my new wrap in the garbage, then leaves the room for like 15 min. Y'all... I'M IN AGONY. Finally, this Dr. comes in and asks what happened to my hand. I explained that I had no idea. I haven't hit it, nor is there anything that I'm aware of that caused it. My hand is swollen & and hurts, but literally NOTHING has happened. This woman just stared at me, then grabbed my hand & and stared, pressing on the swollen area. I tell her it's excruciating... she keeps fucking pressing, while staring at me like the goddamm Night King on Game of Thrones. Then asks me again what happened to my hand. I said I didn't know. She leaves. A few min later, she comes back and says "Its just VERY unusual to have something come from nothing." She keeps staring. I could tell she DIDN'T BELIEVE ME. Why? Why would it benefit me to lie about it!? Make that make sense! She then asked if I were bit by a dog or cat or if i just slept weird?! Bitch... would'nt you see puncture wounds, ma'am?! There isn't any evidence of a bite from anything... and my X-ray shows something between my bones. Y'all.. she COMPLETELY DISMISSED me. She basically said she didn't know... and was quite cold in her demeanor. She referred me downstairs for a CT scan and just kept it moving. I said... may I have a pain Rx? Motrin isn't helping... She said to just take Tylenol & that she couldn't prescribe anything more because she didn't know why I was having pain?! I asked about my wrap... she opened the trash and there it was.. all surrounded by gross tissues & cotton balls covered with God knows what. She then pulls out a HUGE bandage that is for knees & WRAPS MY WRIST. The pain is my hand... not my wrist. I just can't even. I'm not a big crier, which can make people think you're faking, I guess? ESPECIALLY with the "strong black woman" trope. Because of that, often our medical pain gets dismissed... often to our detriment or death. This is a WELL DOCUMENTED medical pain bias that people who like me face. If you're in pain & look like me? Go see someone else. She doesn't care. Terrible.

This dr wants to retire and at this point is doing more harm than good by staying in such a chaotic office only contributed to the agony of dealing with a chronic infection. Did not even take a culture or examine me on the last long awaited visit. Waste of what little energy I have left after dealing with an infection six months . Better off sticking with Tower Urology at least Tower is compassionate and the office doesnt lose your records; this Sherry Thomas time to retire for me she was a waste of energy, money, time and had the nerve to charge $30 to send lab results to Tower while I still had an active infection and she couldnt schedule me for a follow up for over a month. Medicine in the third world makes more sense than this retarded office.
