I just stopped in here to grab some makings for lunch at our studio... I grabbed the Luleh ground beef mix, the stuffed cabbage rolls (stuffed with couscous and beans), stuffed grape leaves (rice), eggplant dip and yogurt dip, pickled veggies and lavash. It was a veritable feast. We grilled Luleh patties which was just so juicy and seasoned perfectly. It was delicious! The cabbage rolls were super tasty and the dolmas were scrumptious. The eggplant dip and yogurt dip were also terrific. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and helpful. This place has come a long way since they opened. The quality of their products is second to none, and the service is also very good. Looks like I am the odd one out here. But wanted to share my experience. I am new to the Orange County area and was looking for a good source for fresh meat. On searching yelp, I stumbled upon Sevan Market. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. In short, the meat might be OK but the customer service left a lot to be desired. Please read below for the full experience and a better alternate that we found. Came here during the weekend. The place was empty, there was no one but us. We asked for 5lbs of ground beef and requested the guy to split it in 2 bags. His reply, Oh I will just give you all in one bag and throw in another bag separately. You can go home and separate the meat. Are you serious... So for your customer you cannot even spend an extra few seconds to split the meat in two bags? Not that there was a line of customers waiting. Anyhow, needless to say that put me off and although we wanted to buy a lot of meat for a party. We decided to take our business elsewhere. So we just left with the ground beef and some chicken breast. Yelp also came up with "Fatima's Halal Meat Market & Grill". We went there next. We were delighted that we did. The service was impeccable and the meat was as good if not better than Sevan. The owner personally works at the shop and she is very helpful and personable. You can tell by talking to her, that she is very proud of the quality of meat she sells. And I totally agree with her, the quality and freshness of the meat we got was second to none. So we will definitely recommend checking them out if you need another source for fresh and natural meats. read more

I am very happy to find a high quality halal meat store not far from Pasadena. I am quite happy with the halal meat selection offered by Sevan Meat Market, including lean ground beef, chicken breast and thigh, marinated chicken breast and thigh, and marinated beef like flap meat (cubed or flat). This has been very popular place, therefore they have very high turnaround, the meat does not stay and usually very fresh. The Ranchera is best in town. Every time I grill I run down to Sevan for meat. The ribeye steaks are fantastic. They also have shrimp and fish. Lots of marinated meat of every kind. Plus they have bacon wrapped jalapenos. And some salad-y things. I love this place. read more

cleverly, this shop also now stocks two kinds of charcoal, for the grilly among us: cowboy hardwood lump charcoal, and five star mesquite charcoal. not an active griller myself, however these seem like distinctive, obscure brands for the discerning bbq-er. read more

I come about once a month and have tried their rib eye, lamb, chicken, short ribs, and pork chops. Found this meat market online. I drove out from Long Beach in search of a whole lamb. When I arrived, my husband and I were greeted by Jack. As we walked in, the place was immaculate, didn't smell and the meats were amazing looking. We ended up buying more than just a lamb. Came home cooked some marinated ribeye, omg!!!!! I went here a few times but stopped because the guy at the register was unfriendly. I'd say "hi" and he'd just glare at me. I'd say "thank you" and no response. Too bad, because they have some nice cheap veggies here and interesting Persian and Armenian foods. Note the rudeness wasn't a one time experience. It was EVERY time I stopped in there. I can understand one or two bad days but not grouchiness every day. So they no longer get my business. read more
