This place is decent but now wants to charge the customer 4 percent to use a credit card at their restaurant! They are a food business who apparently think it's ok to pass the credit card surcharge on to their clients. Under their reasoning we should pay their service charge so they can use a credit card service to collect fees from their customers. Horrible service! Fake specials! They supposable have a special on the 1/4 plate. I placed an order today and only got one of the plates. When I called to ask why I was missing the other plate their excuses was "because it was not picked up by you". I've been to this location before and am usually satisfied, but on my last visit I was very disappointed. The cashiers are usually rude and short (especially when dealing with the younger one), but this hasn't kept me away because the food makes up for it. I ordered 2 chicken kebab plates for take out, which took about 25 minutes. When I got home to eat the food, the veggies were way too burnt to eat and the chicken tasted horrible, almost fishy. Great alternative to Seasoning Alley. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place considering I've stopped in a handful of times. I usually come by to grab a whole chicken value pack that comes with rice, beans and salad. Additional $$ for hummus. The side of beans kinda threw me off, but it's not too bad. Came here after a long day of flying home from a 17 day tour of Japan and China. I don't know if it's just cuz we were hungry, but this place was pretty good. The chicken was a little on the salty side, but tasty all the same. The coleslaw was better than KFC's, and the rice was the perfect compliment. Don't forget the garlic sauce! Everything totalled out to be around $15 (incl. pita bread and three sides... we got double rice). Not too shabby for a dinner for two. YUM! Growing up in Glendale, I've always had a special place in my heart for the miracle of chicken that you can find at Zankou. Moving out of Glendale, I needed to find something that could fill that craving of juicy roasted chicken, hummus, pita, and GARLIC SAUCE. I've seen the (somewhat cheesy) Sevan chicken commercials late at night, so I decided to check out the location that was in my neighborhood. There is a nice sized parking lot up front in an area that's not too busy so parking wasn't an issue. Walking in I forgot to look at the menu because I was staring at the display of roasting chicken. Made me want to go up and just grab a rack! I ordered the 1/2 chicken dinner special and the beef shawerma plate (both comes with two sides). I just ordered the hummus and rice with both. I also got a side of garlic sauce (crossing fingers here) as well as some tahini. The first thing I did when I got my food was smear some of the garlic sauce onto the pita. Took the first bite, and .. yes. Just like (if not better) than Zankou's. Tried a piece of chicken and the shawerma, and both were juicy and perfectly cooked. The rice was a little bland, but not oily (thank goodness). Portions were really large, too. Those two dinners provided about 4 meals total for me. I definitely was impressed with the quality of the food here, and I love that it is cheaper than Zankou (and a lot closer now). I'd recommend skipping the tahini and getting the garlic sauce instead (unless you're a big fan of it). read more

I was back at home craving Sevan's and it's been a while since my school is so far. I went and found out that they have a lunch special now 1/4 chicken+2 sides+1 pita+sauce buy one get one free from 11am -4pm Monday-Friday. Which, totally excited me! The woman at the counter isn't too friendly but the tastiness of the food compensates for that. The chicken falls right off the bone and try the beans. Bought a whole chicken and a large hummus.... came home we started to eat... my husband nearly gagged... he asked me to try the hummus. I did and was so disgusted.. I had to run and spit it out. I was looking forward going in for a shwarma plate! That all changed once I got home. I ordered for pick up over the phone a shwarma plate with a side of Garlic. First of all, the plate which usually comes with rice was missing rice. Second of all, they had forgot to give me the side of Garlic or any sauce at all. The shwarma was so dry and tasted old that I couldn't even finish my food. Third but not least, the fries were soaking in oil and even found a piece of hair in the fries. I've been here before and have had some great food, so I don't know if they just dropped the ball this one time or if its due to them having new workers. Great lunch specials here. I went recently and got a buy one, get one free. The wife and I both had the quarter chicken, one plate with rice and hummus, the other with salad and moutabal (eggplant). The food was delicious. Rotisserie chicken, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The location is just alright. Looks like it hasn't been updated since the 90's, but clean. I'm seeing some complaints about the cashier, who really didn't seem too happy at all to be there, but still efficient. Grabbed a quick dinner here two nights ago. Looking for something in the nearby area, this easily made the short list after some online browsing - and recommended by a friend who lives nearby. Our dinner included a Shwarema sandwich and a Falafel sandwich. This came with an accompaniment of beet salad. I'm a vegetarian, so limited options for me, but the falafel worked out fine. This place appears to be primarily a place you'd go to if you fancy chicken - that's not me, but if this was in my diet, I could see returning here. I make my own pita sandwich all the while using the garlic butter as my mayo: rice, chicken, beef, greek yogurt. MMMMMMM My only problem with their platter was the rice and salad. Do you like Zankou? Yes? Well, Zankou is a pale imitation to the wonders that is Sevan Chicken. Rotisserie chicken, so tender it will fall off the bone. You won't be disappointed, ever. This place is all about their chicken. They have the best rotisserie chicken around. Every piece of the chicken falls right off the bone. Cooked to perfection. The sides are great too! Though I wouldn't order French fries to go, only if you eat in. I would recommend ordering extra pita and extra garlic sauce if you like garlic. My husband always orders the filet mignon shish kabob. He LOVES it. We recently moved back into town. On average, we eat here weekly. I highly recommend this place. It's just so good! read more
