Best rotisserie chicken in my home town. I love love love how the meat just falls / melts off the bone and it's so juice way better than any major chain restaurant that I have ever been too. The coleslaw is unique and I gotta find out what their secret ingredients is. Their rice is always light and fluffy. And their garclic sauce will kick you in the booty! A great little Mediterranean(?) chicken place similar to Zankou Chicken. Plenty of parking in a big lot and decent amount of seating inside. Lunch special is great here. 1/4 chicken + 2 sides and one pita bread for about $6.50. Chicken is cooked great. Hummus and rice pilaf are tasty. Only bad thing, they don't toast their pita bread, but oh well. Serving size was perfect for one person. Doesn't leave you hanging and won't make you feel bloated after eating. It's like 6 bucks for 2 entrees. Such a good deal! The chicken was like a regular rotisserie chicken - moist and falling off the bones. For the sides, I got the hummus and rice pilaf. But there's fries and salad too. The hummus wasn't too flavorful but alright. I loved the rice. I usually have plain white rice so this was different and savory. The fires are crinkle cut. So I read that instead of fast food burgers, Germany has doner kebob in every corner serving delicious shaved meat for couple Euros. Lucky them. Then I remembered that Sevan's chicken has Shwarma, same thing. I ordered Shwarma plate (beef) with salad and fried for myself and Luleh Kabob with rice and salad for my kids. I was able to make 2 giant "doner kebob" or gyro, wrap, whatever you want to call it. and still had meat left over. My kids had their fill of rice and meat. Just had my first and LAST experience with this place. I bought $78+ of food to take out. After quite a long wait, I was handed three bags, and left. When I got home, there was no rice. So, I called the restaurant, thinking they would apologize and tell me to come get some rice, right? Isn't that what you would expect? No way! The guy insists that he packed my order and there was rice in there. We went back and forth a few times, and he finally said he would have to have the manager call me. For some RICE! I could not believe it. Eventually (by now we are half-way done eating), the manager, Armen Trashian, calls me back. But, does he say to come get the rice? NO! He is going to look at the camera and see if the rice was packed or not. Then, he will give me credit for some rice the NEXT TIME I come to his restaurant. This was not even a lot of rice. It was one box that goes with their value pack. I told him there would never be a NEXT TIME! I can inderstand someone making a mistake, and I told him that. Located in an unassuming strip mall on Foothill Blvd is this Armenian joint which many others compare to Zankou Chicken. I'm still marveling at the fact that Tujunga even has a place like this! It's right down the street from my dad's church so I went with my parents one day and we got the chicken dinner special (~$15-17). The chicken was a little dry but rarely is a whole chicken completely juicy. The meal was just the right amount for 3 people, and we even had some leftovers. The bread comes in a separate bag from a separate company and is kinda tough, but once you dip it in that garlic butter sauce it doesn't even matter. Ahhh, the magic garlic butter sauce. To be honest, it isn't as good as Zankou's, but I'd say it's the next best thing. read more

I love Sevan Chicken! We live in LA so its always a treat whenever we're up in La Crescenta/Tujunga. Their chicken bowl is the best! Their savory, juicy, and mouth-watering chicken is to die for. The chicken is shredded over a bed of rice...not just any rice...its buttery goodness! Then they top the plate with slices of tomato. You also get pita and a choice of dipping sauce (BBQ or garlic). The garlic sauce is really good. Something about it just makes you want some more. FYI - the chicken bowl is a plate and the chicken bowl special is a smaller version (in a bowl) but it comes with a soda. There's plenty of parking, so you don't have to worry about that. This has been my favorite place to eat for the last 10 years. When I was in high school, I would go here at least once a week for lunch. Whenever I'm in town, someone brings me some Sevan Chicken, and then I end up going there myself a couple days later. I love this Armenian food. Last month was no different. After flying Munich to LAX, my dad had Sevan Chicken waiting for me at the house. Love him. The chicken is so juicy and the skin is delicious. I wish my stomach was bigger so that I could eat more garlic and pita bread. I love the chicken bowl because the chicken is already pulled apart, and it has that delicious rice. I put garlic sauce all over a pita bread, throw some chicken and rice on top, fold it in half, and then mmmmmmmmm. The chicken sandwich is also really good. I also dip that into the garlic sauce. When I went in last month, I had the filet mignon kebab. It was really good. But it was better with the hummus than the garlic sauce, so I rather eat a rotisserie chicken. Not sure why but maybe apprehensive about Armenian food but have been here about 6 times now. Not sure about unfriendly counter service as I've never had a problem. My wife ordered the filet plate with extra pita and garlic sauce and I had the shawarma plate. The Italian dressing for the salad was like no other Italian dressing I've seen but was great. I have 3 meals in the plate as the sheer weight of the take out bag tells you there's some serious food in there. Not as good as it used to be. The chicken is still amazing, but they've changed their cole slaw recipe and it just isn't very good. This is a shame because Sevan is the takeout of my childhood, and the coleslaw was a comfort food for me. Good 'ol Sevan! This place is pretty decent. They specialize in Rotisserie chicken...kinda like a low grade Boston Market (I guess). The food was decent, we all ordered take out for a family get together. Chicken--- Pretty good...a bit greasy, but the flavor works for me. I probably had three 1/2 breasts...mmmmm....breasts.. Hummos---I am not a big fan of this stuff in the first place. But everybody seemed to think it was good so I gave it another shot....once again, not impressed. Cole Slaw-- I didnt expect for this to come with the family pack..but it did...ummm, way too much mayo...kinda drippy....kinda gross? My family and I are big time Sevan Chicken fans. Their rotisserie chicken is the best along with that amazing garlic sauce and the pickled turnips. I can eat the sauce all by itself, it's creamy and isn't overpowered by the garlic taste. So gooooood. A whole chicken comes with sauce, turnips, and a bag of small pita bread which is good for a family of 3 or 4 if you have some rice or salad to go with it. We have tried some of the side dishes (hummus, tabbouleh, rice...) and the shawarma wraps which have also been satisfactory. We went to this little cafe for a quick dinner prior to a concert last night and had the shawarma sandwich and a falafel sandwich. You order at the front counter and they call your number. Sevan Chicken........ your average, run of the mill, pretty decent, nonspecific mediterranean place. I like it. The chicken is good. Who doesn't love rotisserie chicken? Probably the only way to keep some moisture in that chicken's goddamn breasts. The hummus is a little below average. The rice is typical. They have weird "rules" about what is and is not a side dish, what comes with dishes and what does not. Their "mystery meat" kebab stuff is quite tasty, but for some reason this place pales in comparison to Gaby's Mediterranean on Venice Blvd in West LA. read more

Love thier chicken. I had the lula kabob today. Felt like having some beef. The hummus is good. Not too grainy, very smooth texture. The beef was not dry and it came with a Side of grilled vegetables. Thier meal comes with two sides. The salad doesn't come with dressing on it so you can put whatever you want.
