I am writing this review from the heights of my toilet where I have resided for the last 3 hours. I ordered the filet mignon plate and a chicken kebob for lunch and am now gravely regretting my decision. Not sure if I should blame Ted Lasso or Taste of Athens for inspiring my desire for kebobs, but I digress. The food is delicious and the staff attentive, however, that is where the pleasantries stop. Whoever has been storing/handling the food is definitely doing it wrong. As the only meal I ate that day, it is clear where the culprit lies. Diarrhea. The rotisserie chicken tastes good and the menu offerings are pretty decent. If you only care about the food and don't care at all about service, this place is not a bad option. But for me, the feel inside is depressing and the cashier needlessly rude. I walked in with my family and we greeted all workers with a friendly, "hello!" only to be met with blank stares. We had some questions with the menu since it was our first visit, which were all given one word answers by the cashier who continued to just stare. Took a few whole chickens to go and the cashier insisted us "signing" the receipt, which had no line for a signature but pointed to a gratuity box starting at 20% (ha!). They also nickel and dime every little thing you ask for, sauces are teeny and the pita is just given out in the plastic bag that it was sold in at the grocery store. 3 stars for the chicken only. 0 for the experience. With so many other Mediterranean/kabob places with rotisserie chicken available in the area, this for sure will be a pass for me next time. Cold food , HORRIBLE SERVICE, what else do you need to know. The order was supposed to be a shawarma sandwich. The first bite was a big mouthful of cold lettuce, the second bite was a big mouthful of half cold lettuce and cold meat. I opened the reset of the sandwich and touched it, all the meat inside was cold, not even warm. When I returned it, the bearded, ungrateful, supposed hipster behind the counter tried to blame me for the cold sandwich by saying that the sandwich sat on the counter during the time I went to wash my hands in the bathroom... RIDICULOUS. The problem with this place is that they put cold lettuce in the sandwich with the hot meat. The meat comes out really cold. The other problem with this place is that they just don't have any food pasion. It seems like they just follow a formula and want the money. It seems like this place only cares about the money. I see most of the reviews for this Sevan are dated . I was there today and was very disappointed and did satisfied both with the portions and surprise increase in pricing !!! The salad was literally two fork fills and two teaspoons of the hummus ... This use to be the after workout place for most everyone at the world gym - now I know why it was empty mid day mid week !!! Been coming here for years since I was in high school at CV (more than 10 years ago!) Their food isn't always consistent but it's usually pretty good. Sometimes the chicken is too dry or fries over cooked. However, for the most part I enjoy their food. My go to order is the 1/4 chicken plate with fries and hummus and a side of tabouleh. Sometimes the tabouleh is under seasoned too. I've noticed that over the years, service has declined (or maybe I'm just more aware of it now that I'm older?) But regardless, their customer service could use some work. You're met with some pretty drear and stoic faces when you walk in - no greeting or any sort of enthusiasm that a paying customer just walked in. They do have some good lunch specials though, BOGO on 1/4 chicken plates. Overall; I prefer Zankou over Sevan. Their food and customer service is superior but if I'm in the area and don't feel like driving all the way to Glendale then this is my spot. read more

Just placed my phone order and specifically asked for chicken to be be juicy. Sometimes with rotisserie style chicken it's easily over cooked and can become dry, why I ask for dry chicken. Got here and saw the guy pull the oldest driest chicken from the rotisserie. Asked them to change the chicken for juicy/fresh chicken, no the old dry stuff and the older Armenian cook refused and started yelling! Talk about crazy and the worst customer service. I refused the old chicken and the crazy yelling person in charge refused to swap it out so they gave me a refund. I said no let's support our small RESTAURANT.i stoped at sevan and ordered 1 whole chicken and 1 kebab menu combo to go the usual nice lady on the cashier I have to wait 15 minutes I said ok.the young GENTLEMAN there's 2 workers mens in tge shop.. the young one took out 1 chiken from the rotisserie machine I'm sitting across there I realized it's little white the skin...the top raw was better cooked I was gone ask him I To give me the darker one..i hasitate .When we came home the kebab is fine the chicken was cooked 85% safe to eat (NOT PINK) the other area only the meat is hard to separate from the bone. they have an epic lunch special deal where you get a 1/4 of a chicken with 2 sides PLUS ANOTHER ONE FOR FREE. The chicken is rotisserie but never is super dry! You can also get your choice of dark/white meat if you have a preference. But on top of all this their garlic sauce is FIRE! i always get extra because one is not enough! I assume it to be that the owners work their and their families? but the are super nice. They're a busy place so I don't expect their undivided attention, but I do admit I would likely come here more often if they were a little more friendly. The food however is great. Always as fresh as can be and the portions are very generous. We like to order the chicken kabob plate, with rice and hummus. The chicken is so moist and tender, and the vegetables are very fresh and crunchy. The kabob plate comes with complimentary pita bread and this stripped red vegetable (may or may not be beets, but are DELICIOUS!). I typically call to order take-out, and the food is always ready within 20 minutes. The staff is very friendly and the entire place is very clean. I haven't dined in before, but they have ample space with plenty of seating. It's never too crowded, as most people order take-out. Parking is also spacious on their side of the lot. I had their lunch special at $8.21 before tax (I think $8.95 after tax). Chicken was tasty and tender (the skin is such a delicious guilty pleasure) and the fries were on point. The garlic sauce is really good here - I know why they charge extra for it - it's certainly worth it. I'd definitely come back. Not somewhere you should expect an overly happy, smiling cashier (and that's ok). But this is a place that serves quality food at a great price. I came here during lunch hour and the place was packed, so was the parking lot. That's a great sign, except I only have an hour for lunch. It takes 15-20 minutes for them to make the chicken kebob plate, which I wouldn't have minded had it only been a 15-20 minute wait. I got the hummus and salad sides, and I really wished I would have gotten the rice. Who doesn't want rice with their meal? I wasn't really liking the salad, only because it was so standard, I could have made that myself. The hummus was wonderful though and their pita is fresh and not out of a bag like Zankou's is. That was definitely a plus! Chicken was flavored wonderfully too, not greasy, and the added bonus to this was the grilled vegetables on the kebob skewers. They also have the best pickled turnips I've ever had. All-in-all, a good, healthy meal. My only complaint is that the place looked old and dirty on the inside. I could see grease dripping from one of the meat machines with a sloppy and really dirty cloth on the floor that was obviously there to pick up the drippings. It sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. Used to love coming here back when I went to CV. It's honestly not as good as I remember it to be 6 years ago but it was definitely still good. They still have the lunch special where you buy one get one free. For this deal they give one white meat plate and one dark meat plate. I think for the white meat it comes with enough chicken where if you buy an extra pita and extra garlic sauce on the side you can make 2 meals out of this. Soooo good and such a good deals. The location of this great food place is difficult to see, when your not looking carefully when driving. The atmosphere of the place is more like your average fast food resto, so I might suggest not eating inside and instead make it to go, because them tables are limited. The Special Chicken than we ordered was cooked to perfection! Crispy on the outside and moist inside. It almost melts in your mouth when you take a bite! The soup was also delish. Whenever I am in the mood for that garlic paste with some perfectly cooked rotisserie chicken Sevan has always been my go to place. I like how the food is always consistently fresh. The roast master always hooks me up with a an extra thigh every time I get a whole chicken. Add a coke to this dish and you got yourself a meal for those Netflix and chill kinda of nights. I am a regular at this place. I only come during lunch time for their lunch special: Buy 1/4 of a chicken + 2 sides, get 1/4 of a chicken + 2 sides for free (Comes out to $8.95). Sides include fries, rice, hummus, beans, cole slaw, salad, and I forgot what else... Also comes with pita bread! I get rice, beans, cole slaw, and hummus. The hummus is always good. The chicken is tender and juicy. Good portions. I don't come as often as I used to. I started coming less often since they started raising their prices for their lunch special. It used to be $7.50 couple months ago, then they raised to I forgot how much, and now it's $8.95. So you're basically paying about $4.50 for two 1/4's, which isn't too bad. But yeah not as cheap as it used to be. Service is fast. Never takes them more than 10 minutes to have your food ready. read more
