I'm not sure why the 1 star person got such bad burns, but yes, you should get a lower current or frequency if you're just starting out and let them know about any skin problems. Both ladies are so professional and I have seen results with each treatment done. I was referred to by two friends and I'm happy I was. Hair that was once unruly and a pain to look at is finally gone! They have an ice machine and will numb the areas that need to be zapped, which is always quite helpful when you're in pain, like I usually am. Like their website says : - arrive early, if you're going to be late, call them! They have things to do and could probably book a last minute client if possible. - bring cash or a check ( yes, they take checks!!!) I've always been pleased with their service and would highly recommend.

On the other hand, what I at first perceived to be chatty friendliness soon began to feel extremely uncomfortable and invasive. She asks an inordinate amount of questions, nosy ones, and doesn't back off even when it's clear the client doesn't want to answer. She also makes sweeping generalizations about entire groups of people and when you're lying flat on your back, at the mercy of her zapping needle, it's not really the time to get into a heated discussion. She also once surprised me with a significant price increase that there had been no warning about. For me, the tipping point was when she kept insisting I must have a disorder or condition because I'm overweight and have facial hair and inquiring time after time if I'd seen someone about it. I assume she was referring to PCOS, which many thin people have as well, but it really doesn't matter. She is not a medical professional and I did not come here for a diagnosis. I came for electrolysis. Had she said, "I don't think your hair growth is responding to electrolysis and I don't want you to waste your money if it's not helping. You might want to see an endocrinologist to see if there's an underlying cause before you continue," and then left it to me, that would've been entirely different. I stopped coming here after that, and it's a decision I do not regret.

On the left side of the window though, it reads Laser Aesthetics Studio. I decided to enter. Inside, there are women getting their hair done. Expect to be given weird looks as a newcomer. But don't worry, you're not there for them ;) I asked for Zhanna and they had me wait towards the back. Although not your typical medspa and space is limited, the area is clean and she sanitizes your glasses with an alcohol pad before service. (Which should be done at all laser places. If it isn't, that's a clear indication that you should LEAVE) Zhanna is very thorough and doesn't rush your session. I have about four more sessions to go and I'm looking forward to the results!

I received many compliments on my lashes over the years, which is why I remained a loyal client for so long. I also want to acknowledge that the salon itself is beautiful. The space is clean, well-maintained, & thoughtfully decorated. The atmosphere is relaxing, the blankets are comfortable, & I appreciated the Christian music and R&B that often played during appointments. It was easy to relax & even fall asleep while getting my lashes done. One issue I experienced involved excessive lash fallout shortly after an appointment. When I brought it to their attention, I felt there was an initial attempt to place the blame on me. During that same situation, I was encouraged to book a full set despite having recently received one & was asked to return the following day to complete the service. While the issue was eventually resolved professionally, the experience left me feeling frustrated & undervalued as a client. Over time, I realized that something always felt off in the overall client experience. I'm not expecting friendship from someone providing a service, but with personal services like lashes, waxing, nails, or massages, clients naturally develop a level of comfort & familiarity. Although there were moments where they were kind, I often felt more tolerated than genuinely appreciated despite my continued support of the business. There were also several moments where communication & rescheduling felt unnecessarily difficult. One interaction that stood out was being placed on hold for over 15 minutes. While on hold, I called from another number & the call was answered immediately. The reaction once realizing it was me made the interaction feel uncomfortable. I also invited them to participate in a volunteer empowerment event for young girls because I believed they could be positive role models & demonstrate what entrepreneurship & success in the community can look like. I viewed it as an opportunity to give back & encourage young girls to see successful women who looked like them pursuing their goals & building businesses of their own. While I fully respect everyone's right to value their time & services, a last-minute disagreement regarding compensation ultimately led us to withdraw the invitation. The situation reinforced some of the concerns I already had regarding communication & professionalism. Looking back, I realize I focused heavily on the quality of the work while overlooking how the overall experience made me feel as a client. The lashes were beautiful, & I still believe both women are highly skilled. However, over time I learned that talent alone is not enough for me personally. Professionalism, communication, & making clients feel genuinely welcomed matter just as much as the final result. If your priority is solely the lash work itself, you may have a positive experience. I can only speak honestly about my own experience as a long-term client.

The receptionist was very friendly and helped me to schedule all of my appointments on the same date so I'm not coming to Laser Away a million times like I work here lol (not sure why they were scattered out to begin with) She also informed me of the update where we can be in the sun before/ after laser. I was concerned how was I going to be outside this summer with 8 treatments remaining. Glad it won't be an issue now. The woman who did my laser (I wish I would have gotten her name) was very informative and made me feel comfortable. This was my second session so I'm still pretty new. I added on a new service, my upper lip (because why be hairless everywhere else and still have a mustache?!) and the woman walked me through what it would feel like and even did a test on my neck before we began- I appreciated that.
