Traveling for work in the area, I've always wanted to stop here. With easy parking lot access, lots of tables for ample seating , and a taco food station in the back we were all ready to "Settle Down". We just so happen to be here on the Women's World Cup Semi Finals playoff, which gave the brewery a pop of character. Bartenders were floating around camping everyone up, and they were super nice about letting you try samples so you had the perfect beer for the game. The big screen projector they used was great, no lag! The beer was also very notable. The hazy Ipa had a perfect amount of citra, haze. The Black Ipa was so exciting to see on the menu, not very common, it was so yummy. It wasn't overly sweet, just the right amount of hops. read more

What a fun place! I came here to sample the Scoville Sting, which has jalapeño in it. I was not disappointed. I enjoy spicy food, but I did not know what to expect with a spicy beer. The spice was not overwhelming. In fact, I would say it complimented the food I had from the brewery's neighbor restaurant, El Tio. After I sampled the Scoville Sting, I had a milder beer, a Kolsch. That was a good palate-cleanser. I enjoyed a tour of the facility while I sipped another Scoville Sting. The brewery owner is great to talk to. He can tell you about the equipment and processes they use. I've been to other breweries or distilleries where I got a tour, and I always enjoy the special knowledge and enthusiasm the tour guides provide. This was no exception. Please give them a try. 3/5, September 2021. We stopped here with friends for a drinks. It was during their Octoberfest so the place was packed. The service was decent given the crowds and they had a reasonably good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating given the space restrictions of the location. The parking was fairly tight but we managed to find a place without too much trouble. The beer was solid if not exceptional. I would call it well crafted but not in the upper echelon of a very crowded segment. If you find yourself in the area it's worth stopping by. read more

I learned about this brewery through a Yelp search. On the day that I visited they were celebrating their first year anniversary. They were very crowded and had a live band playing. They have a decent selection of beer. I was slightly disappointed that they did not have any dark beer such as porters or stouts. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the flight that I had. It is primarily a brewery; they do not directly offer food. The did have a small counter operated by a nearby Mexican restaurant. They also have an affinity club. Members get advance notice of the availability of new selections and discounts on purchases. I look forward to going back sometime when they are not quite so busy. read more

I came here for Wednesday Night Trivia and it was so much fun! I loved the trivia using Kahoot - It is very convenient, faster, and really fun. They are creative with the questions and topics too! I am not a big fan of beer but their drinks are really good! My boyfriend got the Shandy and it was really tasty and was great if you're not into the darker brews. I got the watermelon seltzer which was really really good! I'm a big fan! It wasn't too sweet and had just enough of a taste that it tasted authentically like watermelon flavor! Good portions too! The staff is super friendly. It was so nice seeing everyone enjoying themselves at Trivia night here, and a lot of loyal locals. I'm definitely swinging by again :D read more

Good beer and nice brewery tucked away behind a restaurant with other offices. Came for the Marzen but when I realized it was $26 for a 4 pack I asked what other options there were. They were having a special on the Kolsch ($7 for a 4 pack) since they made too much of it. It was brewed in May and I bought it in October. I was surprised that it was that old for being a brewery but it still tasted good. They gave me a sample of it on tap before I purchased the 4 pack. I would go back and try other beers if they have any on special or at a lower price as it seems like a lot of money for a 4 pack at the $25 range. read more

If you arrive before 12:30/1PM, there's no problem with seating. After that, got crowded. And, LOUD. I'm not a fan of most of the brews, but my friends thought they were fine. There's no food, but El Tio's did have a booth serving tacos (no vegetarian ones) and chips with guac and salsa. The chips and salsa were good. This place is great! Each of the beers has been delicious. I also like that you can get half pints - the halfs are in regular size glasses just not filled all the way. The half is often very generous :) The people that work here are also really nice. There are usually a TON of kids running around here. Sort of annoying because it happens at all hours. Just FYI. We've been here twice after discovering it a few weeks ago and overall prefer this to Solace. This has a more down to earth feeling and the employees all seem to get along and don't mind chatting with you, whereas Solace feels very business like. We've tried pretty much almost everything after a few flights and we were both impressed with their selections. My personal favorites were the Hop-Wah Phonic IPA and the 2 Cloud 9. And yes, you have to try the jalapeño ale! read more

I just heard about this place and so was excited to check it out as it'd be the closest brewery to my home. I wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't know to look for it as it's tucked off 29 behind El Tio. It's a large space and while the bar itself is a bit on the smaller side, especially compared to the size of the overall footprint, there are plenty of tables and several large TVs that had the Saturday college games on. I did a tasting of four beers, out of about a dozen to choose from I believe: Do Yourself a Favor Porter, Martian Monster Red, Fog that Surrounds, and I think Clank Your Chains DIPA. Overall I really liked the beers here. The one drawback is food-related. Outside food isn't allowed and they don't sell food there with the exception of allowing food (from their whole menu?) from El Tio to be delivered to the brewery that also had a almost a catering table where you could order tacos, nachos, and maybe other snacks. I probably wouldn't think much of this if it weren't for Audacious Aleworks not only letting you bring in and ordering food to their premises but encouraging it. Plenty of parking is available and I'll happily be back in. read more

Finally made my way over to settle down! I love me some tasters, so I bought a flight of 4. I tried: *2cloud9 This was a bit more citrus forward than I was expecting, reminding me of a shandy. It was good but I liked the other 3 I tried more *Camp Itsahneepa A really smooth hazy ipa. I ended up getting a full glass of this, competes with the best of other NE IPAs i've had *Raspberry Rambler I really enjoyed this. Great hang out spot for the weekend! Visited twice and one of the times was for the Super Bowl. They have a food stand from El Tio, a Mexican restaurant across the street and you can order from their actual menu and have it delivered. The managers are very nice and took the time to talk to us and make sure we were good. On a Saturday afternoon, it was fairly busy but we were able to snag seats along the side bar area. They have games, 2 TV's by the bar and one larger screen in the front. The flight system is pretty cool where they have color-coordinated poker chips that you match the beers to. My favorite was the Sangri-ale, a sangria-inspired red ale that went well with chips and guac. Definitely a spot to check out, especially when it gets warmer out! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip into Settle Down this afternoon while meeting up with a friend from way back. Been living in DC for three years, and if you know DC, then you're probably aware of how paltry the craft beer scene is in the city. You have to really get out to the "burbs" to hit some of the best breweries. Recently moved to Alexandria, so proximity to some quality breweries is more accessible. That being said, still cannot top Aslin, but Settle Down is the clear-cut silver medalist. [BTW: Open space, outdoor setting, and COVID setup works for those who are of the sane capacity for not spreading this notorious pandemic]. Loved the two beers I tasted, but the best part? The bartender, a young woman with blonde hair (I cannot recall her name but know it started with a 'M') could not have been more gregarious and welcoming. Few places offer your a sample right off the bat; she did, and for me that made a tremendous difference in my experience. Robust rotation, terrific taste, and quality brews. I'll be back again and again here at one of my new favorite NoVA stops! read more

I love this brewery. Since I became a Falls Church resident I've been here countless times. I've also purchased the beer in kegs to keep in my home bar. These guys know beer. It's made in small batches to keep it fresh and tasty. I haven't had a bad pint yet. What really makes this place cool is the accessibility of the owners. Frank is awesome and explains each of the beers and the stories behind them. Service is top notch from Misty (Frank's wife). I have been told about this place before but I've actually never been until tonight. The place is decorated nicely. I love their iron gate that separates the brewery from their bar/dining area. I like the open concept and the fact that you can order tacos from El Tio's right there and eat it with your favorite beer. The bartender, Chip, was very friendly and helpful. We found out later that he's one of the four owners. He gave us a few recommendations. We ended up with a Dunkelweizen, Black Stallion and a jalapeno one. I wasn't a huge fan of the jalapeno but the Dunkelweizen was my favorite! I was very surprised at how creamy and smooth it was. We also got to try the Pomelo Grapefruit Double IPA. It was very aromatic and citrusy. I wasn't a huge fan but I can see how some people could appreciate that taste. The Black Stallion was crisp and you can definitely taste the chocolate (with a kind of coffee hint of flavor, even though I think it doesn't have coffee) and it grew on me by the end of the night but we still liked the Dunkelweizen the most. As I mentioned earlier, the place is owned by four gentlemen and they share their love of brewing. There's so much story behind this place- from the wooden bar, side bars and their name Settle Down Easy. It's such a beautiful story. We had the privilege of getting a tour from their head brewer, Henry and Derrick, and told us a little about the process and gave us a sample of two different types of beer they were brewing. Awesome local brewery - go there with some colleagues after work and we enjoy ourselves every time. The owners and bartenders are always nice and pretty patient as well because we can get kind of rowdy sometimes (sorry). The tap is always rotating so there is an opportunity to try something new just about every time I go in there because the beers are great! Also, they collaborated with their next-door neighbors, El Tio, and set up an area to order tacos and nachos which is also pretty awesome. Best restaurant! Such a great place with the best staff. The beer is great (my favorite is the sour, second favorite is the kolsch). They don't serve food but there's a pop up stand where you can order Mexican from El Tio down the street and it's seriously so good. It comes super fast and the El Tio staff is super nice. I love that it's family owned and operated -- the guy behind the bar might be the owner, Frank, who lives nearby or his wife Misty. I hosted a big event (120 people) and they were so amazing-- they went above and beyond to help me plan the best night for my event. But they do that for small things too-- whether you want a place to watch football or host a baby shower-- they'll go out of their way to make sure you and your guests have a great time. read more

Cool place. I am not a fan of most of the beers but that is do to my preferences for lagers. The bee sting has some jalapeno flavor to it and would recommend to try a flight. The beer is pretty good, and they have a variety of styles including some spicy habanero beers. However, despite what some may say, they are NOT KID FRIENDLY. They are kid tolerant. They do not really want kids there, and maybe that's for the best since it's a brewery, but this is an area with a ton of families, and we bring our kids. They have games for kids, but it's clear from talking to them and from the signage that they really don't want them there. Bartender made it very clear, even as the place was packed with families on a Friday night. The beer is pretty good, but not sure I'd call it a destination brewery, so if it were my business, I'd accept that families are a target market. read more

They don't really have any regular pilsners or IPAs but still some solid drinks overall. There's a lot of indoor seating and some in the back. I have been coming to this brewery for the past 2 years now and must say that the selection of beers and ambience are simply the finest in all of Northern Virginia. There is a live open mic weekly that I attend and the staff is extremely friendly and loves to engage with the customers. There are also several other activities I've encountered since visiting Settle Down Easy including board/video game night, trivia night, sport nights, and seasonal/holiday-themed events. Love this little brewery! Kid friendly and I could easily see this place needing to grow out of this building. Definitely wish there were more bathrooms (two singles). The staff was excellent, friendly and fast. Helped make suggestions based on your likes. Plus you can get the most amazing chicken tacos ever from El Tios which is next door. They have a limited menu that is ordered right inside the brewery, but you can order from the entire menu and they will deliver to you in to-go containers to the brewery. If you love local brews and IPAs you will love this place and it is relatively affordable as well. I was surprised that we received a flight plus two sodas for $16! We also got a taste of their own seltzer that they are slowly working on. Ya'll it was so GOOD! You can also get cans of the beers and it is sealed up right in front of you. Here for DC101 viewing party for game 1 of the World Series with the Nationals! Great specials on beer with the game and food partnership with El Tio on-site. Came here this afternoon. I was really excited to have the manghoppah beer and they were out :(. However I had another beer (Forgot what it was but it was the second item on the menu) and it was so good! They have plenty of seating and a wide variety of board games to play. (Even Cards Against Humanity!) The prices are really good. I did not know I could have had a flight so I will for sure be back to try more beers. :) read more

I can't praise this place enough. I can be a real picky hipster when it comes to beer but Settle Down Easy knocks it out of the park. My fiancé and I came here because all the other breweries in the area were closed and I'm so disappointed it took us this long to discover this place. For starters, most breweries right now (covid times) aren't even doing flights, but not only are they still doing them, all the beers we tried (9 total) were absolutely amazing. I don't want to rant too much, but I just want to get the point across that they have a wide selection of very delicious beer, which I cannot say for a lot of breweries. read more

I went here today with my husband and 2 year old. I've been trying to find new breweries in the area to try and found Settle Down Easy through positive yelp reviews. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm, it was busy but we were able to find a seat. They have a list of all there beers on tap along the wall on clip boards (super cute). When ordering a flight they give you the holder and you use poker chips with the color associated with the beer to place in the holder so you know which beer you're drinking (loved this)! I enjoyed all the beers, the kolsch and the sangri-ale were my favorites. My only complaint would be more seating on the weekends and to add descriptions of the beers on the wall with their names. This place was great, the servers were friendly and so were the patrons. Also, the food from El Tio was really good. I'm pretty sure we'll be back. read more
