I believe this place is fairly new, because I so remember something else being in this spot some years ago. However, I could be wrong, but let's focus on present day... I was invited to a 50th birthday celebration here last Saturday. I had a general idea of where the place was located since I am sorta familiar with the area being a native and all. But we arrived close to 7pm and everything was all set up. My friend advised us to arrive at 6:45pm because it was a surprise party for her husband... so we popped in and everything was in tact. Even the workers were on their post awaiting to great the guest and provide service. I especially loved seeing this! I don't know about you, but I have been places where people are still setting up or put the early arrival guest in a waiting area until the main area is set. Well not at 757 events, they were on point!! I can be long winded when writing reviews, but I like to give yall an experience and feel how I felt when I visited. Especially, since this is the first review... This place is really all the rage!! Not too big of a event space, but just the right size to entertain a group of 100 maybe more. But a few tables were set up along with a few cocktail tables... a club lounge vibe it gave. I believe the owner decorate the spot, so my friend gave a vision and it came to life last Saturday night. Another big plus... the owner catered the event. The buffet set up is away from the party people... I loved this!!! I didn't have to worry about smelling like food or even the venue smelling like food! The bar set up... another big plus!! I believe the bartender was set up through the owner and he was on point too. Even though he was a one man show, he kept the drinks flowing... no complaints, all smiles!! Now the parking lot is rather small. I did not notice if more parking was behind the building. But if you arrive early enough no worries here, as we did. Overall, this place is gorgeous and far as I can see ran properly and with love! You can tell whoever is behind this, loves what they do. She is such a joy to work with. For someone like me that worries about every little detail, I felt comfortable leaving it all to her. She is professional, kind and makes sure you are at ease during the entire process. I told her exactly what my vision was and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND. The staff that was there on the day of my event were also very friendly and professional. We loved the bartender. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Not one complaint was given. We had a choice of shrimp and grits or salmon but since we had a larger order we were able to do half and half and have the best of both worlds. Ordering and paying ahead before the deadline online was simple! If you have questions prior to ordering just call. We had certain requests and were informed over the phone it was feasible but to type it in under the special instructions box when ordering. Everything was delivered as ordered and promised! No issues at all! Once we arrived we just called and the gentleman came out promptly to our car with a cart and our Easter brunch neatly and carefully packaged in sturdy brown handled paper bags. The kind gentleman showed us the reheating instructions and explained to us briefly the timing. He took care to inform us which bag to keep horizontal so it would not spill. It was stapled shut and handed to us in the horizontal position as well. Hence to avoid confusion and prevent disastrous spillage. This was greatly appreciated! The food was neatly and carefully packaged with each aluminum sturdy container marked with its contents. Once again very smart and greatly appreciated! We just had to pop in the entire container in the oven. No fuss, no muss. Most items ranged from 10-12 minutes to re-heat some 15-20 minutes. The quality and quantity of food did not disappoint!! Pricing is definitely not cheap but the amount and quality of food is without a doubt worth every penny!! Even better was that none of us had to cook! Win win!! EVERYTHING was delicious! But the real stars were the grand marnier bread pudding, which not everyone can get bread pudding right, but this was heaven on earth for sure! The salmon was cooked perfectly. They had coffee, lemonade, tea for drink. The servers gave out the salad. It was lovely display of greens with cucumber and tomato. On the table were the boats of ranch or Italian vinaigrette. This also was delicious. On the far back wall was where they had the buffet style dinner. They had roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, and asparagus for the sides. The potatoes and asparagus were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I didn't feel the same for the rice. It was completely tasteless and left me disappointed. The main entrees were roasted sirloin with horseradish sauce and a pepper crusted salmon with mango cilantro. The sirloin was not really hot and also not seasoned well enough. The sauce was delicious though. The salmon was picturesque. It looked like it was out of a cooking magazine, and I wanted to love this so much buuuut my salmon was just a tad undercooked. I want to make this clear: everyone I talked to enjoyed their meal. I had someone tell me their salmon was over cooked. I had another loved their roast. And another dislike it as much as I did. There was a complete mix of opinion when it came to their food. Maybe it was just the menu selection that was chosen. Anyway, this place was great! I'd definitely come back again. However, that was not to be the case here. S&L simply ruined this awesome gaming cafe. After they took over, they got rid of many of my favorite menu items, increased prices on everything including the gaming fees, and then started to treat their staff like trash. Several of my friends and I had been regularly attending their weekly team trivia events since they started, and we had built a great rapport with the staff, so we were really let down when they stopped doing weekly trivia back in December. Then they closed for almost 2 months while they claimed "remodel" but really, the corporate masters just showed up Monday 26 FEB 2024 and fired everyone without any notice. This got picked up in the local news cycle, so Corporate went into a panicked damage control, but their lies were continually exposed by the former staff and others knowledgeable . So now I'm completely done with S&L and will be encouraging everyone I know in the local tabletop gaming community to avoid this place like the plague it has become.
