Had a nightmare with this company to be honest. NYC setup were ok to a degree. They said all the right things and provided a decent quote I was happy with initially, but after the results, I think its an embarrassment really. The contractors/cowboys they used were called Brothers Fix. I couldn't find them on yelp, so I am using the company that advised me to use them. My job required 2 TVs mounted, to be dismounted and remounted in our new apartment. They said they could do it in the same day, so I was happy and expected it to be a simple job after the other. The two men were late to begin with. Thats already annoying when you are moving apartments and are paying by the hour. After they dismounted the TVs they told me they had to drop off some other furniture to another (annoyed) client who was waiting for their services. So I was waiting in my new apartment having booked a whole day off from work while they were busy doing another job. When they finally came to new apartment, I asked them to mount the TV and put the wires behind the wall. Was advised by NYC set up that this was easy. So went down that road and ended up with 2 holes in the wall and no wire behind it as the cowboys hadn't checked for any wiring and just assumed it was an easy job. The whole reason I wanted this was to avoid any danger for my 1 year old son, which was obviously not going to work as the wire was loosely hanging on the outside. The two contractors ran out of the place and said it was their fault on a private message to me and that I would get a call from management. This never came so I called up and arranged a fitting for second time. The person on the other end said I advised the cowboy to build the hole next to the plug under the TV - straight up lie (I have the text to prove it). So after a few days (massive lack of urgency despite their f0ck up) they scheduled me in for their mistakes to be fixed. The guy didn't use the hole tool (size blade) previously used and left by said cowboy so ended up guessing the size of the whole and carving it up till the protector went in. He did a good fix it job, but when you look at the price I paid, you'd expect a refund or compensation. He didn't use the wire compartment I was advised to buy by NYC set up to purchase, so that was some more money down the drain - he just filled in one hole and made another one lower down to accommodate my initial request. It was a joke final end result. I still had wires appearing from under the TV and from the second hole to the plug. It was just useless. I've since had to move my book shelf in front of these two holes to make sure my son can't access or get to the wires by the plug. I am 100% going to use the yelp reviews in future and hope you do too. Like I said NYC set-up are ok to a degree. They say all the right things and give you a quote. But if they advise to use Brothers fix - run a mile. The issue with NYC set-up is they don't communicate with companies they work with. So I get told to purchase behind the wall protectors, a wire compartment tidy up set, an extension cord based on the distance from TV to nearest plug - but when the contractors come in. I had a great experience with setup nyc. They give quotes based on the specific products so that they can quote you exactly. The handyman was on time, professional, he cleaned up after he put together our furniture and took out the trash. The prices are reasonable and they are able to get to you within a day. This company is a total scam. They are very unprofessional and charge a lot of money for estimates. Please avoid them at all cost. They are a bunch of liars. They stole my money and refuse to give it back. They did an estimate for me and it cost $792. The deal that they wanted didn't fall through, now they charge me almost $800 just to do an estimate. They agreed to reimburse me, if the job is not done. They promise to pay me back my money but the main manager Edward(Eddy) claim it was used for paperwork. $800 dollars to do paperwork. Jose, the guy who did the estimate promise that he was gonna take care of the issues but avoid my phone calls. shame on you my brother, you played the part very well. They are a bunch of thieves. The 2 handyman show up to my house unprepare didn't have the right tools to setup the closet so they couldn't do the work I had to reschedule and pay more money because they came over. After I reschedule and pay the ex 150, the day of the new appointment the 2 handyman were supposed to come at 11am but they came at 315pm what a joke. After finishing up the work and leaving, the next day I get a invoice from the office saying that I owe an outstanding balance although I pay for the service. I had to call the office and complain thankful I was able to resolve the issue and they didn't charge me that extra money. I booked a pickup delivery and set up with this company at first I was being help good then when it came to delivery day I got at 1-4 delivery window once I saw it was getting late around 4:30 I called Aly she said the driver was stuck in traffic and was a hour away that was hard to believe but I went along I called one hour later and she still one hour away . Now it's 6:30 pm and I was told they were 10 mins away I waited down stairs for 30mins hoping they would show . As I begin to call at 7pm I got now answer what so ever I waited till 8 pm still no call no nothing I went to the police station because I thought they stole my brand new furniture. At about 10 someone by the name of Keith called me and told be the truck was "grounded " and I would not get my delivery till the next day . The reason why I given them a one-star is because I spoke to somebody recently and they gave me a price quote which was okay still a little pricey for two jobs. Once I knew I wasn't able to afford both jobs I asked for the price for them separately which basically almost doubled the price which is ridiculous. I would recommend you stay away from this company there's plenty of other ones that charge way less than them. read more
