I am getting closer to my goals because Max knows just how to push me. I knew the first time I met him that he was the right trainer for me. He pushed me, but in an encouraging way. Losing weight and staying trim has become more difficult than when I was 25, so it's been easy to become discouraged. I needed some help. A couple months ago I found Max on Thumbtack and noticed he was getting a lot of great reviews. I decided to meet with him for a consultation and I am now one of his regular loyal clients. Max's workouts are fun, never repetitive, and are completely tailored to my personal goals. He's really down to earth and has a great sense of humor (expect to actually laugh and have a good time while working out). The best part is he's helped me adjust my daily diet and I actually get to eat MORE than I used to and I'm still losing weight, gaining muscle, and having more energy. Can't beat that.

As a middle-aged woman in menopause on a GLP-1 journey, progress hasn't always come easily, and honestly, many days feel like a struggle. When I first reached out to him, I wasn't consistent with my meal plan and I hadn't followed a structured gym routine in nearly 20 years. From our very first communication, he was extremely professional, supportive, and clear. The plan he put together for me was detailed, well organized, and easy to follow, which immediately gave me confidence that I was in good hands. Throughout our time working together, he has always been thoughtful about my abilities and careful to keep me at a pace that challenges me while still being healthy and sustainable. Along the way, I've also been getting DEXA scans to track my progress with fat loss and lean mass, just to make sure everything is staying within healthy ranges. In the four months we've been working together, my progress has been amazing: I've lost 25 pounds, 24 of those from fat. My lean muscle has increased by almost 2 pounds, and my visceral fat has gone down by 1.5 pounds. We even made it through the holidays with minimal guilt, which felt like a huge win. I genuinely look forward to our private sessions. I laugh about what he thinks I can do on my own, and I get excited to read his comments about my weekly progress. I was really excited to try this reformer Pilates studio. The space looked great, the app was easy…read moreto use, and I almost bought a full package because my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match what I hoped for. After signing up, there was no orientation video, no instructions, and very little communication. When I arrived, the door was locked because a class was in session, so I waited outside in the cold. When the door finally opened, the receptionist didn't seem to understand that I was new and unsure of what to do. Only after a moment did she let the instructor know I was there. The instructor gave me a very quick one‑minute explanation, but if you don't already have solid reformer experience, you're basically left to guess. There was no tour, no explanation of where things are, and no place to store your bag--you just put your belongings next to the machine. I'm also not a fan of putting my bag on the floor (yes, I'm superstitious), so that was an immediate downside for me. The class itself was interesting, but without a real orientation, it was more frustrating than enjoyable. This studio seems geared toward people who are already very experienced, not beginners. There was also no sense of community; the whole experience felt very transactional. I paid $39 for a week pass, and honestly, I regret spending the money. That said, the fact that I didn't feel welcome or supported shouldn't stop someone with strong reformer experience from trying it. If you're already comfortable with this style of workout, you may have a very different experience than I did.
