Great at mobilizing, getting their equipment in and starting. Horrendous at transparency, pricing, and when they realize they will not get the full remediation work. We hired them in an emergency (great time to take advantage of people) and they gave us a price. We asked for updates on pricing or any form of paperwork and that was never shared outside of a verbal dollar amount. When we let them know the services were no longer needed and that we would be doing the rebuild ourselves, the price miraculously doubled overnight and they had a full list of every single piece of equipment, the pricing, etc. (what we had been requesting) readily available. After disputes, we were threatened with additional costs from them and their lawyer as well as with a lien. Do not hire them. read more

This is a strong 5 stars. Starting with the mitigation mgr. these guys did everything to make a bad situation bearable. Vince quickly came out to assess the damage and explain the process, including insurance, cleanup, demolition and reconstruction. The crew came out the next morning and they were total pro's. I have been unable to live in my house for 8 months because of the mismanagement of my restoration project by ServPro of Naperville. It took Barton 6 months to apply for a simple permit to install insulation and drywall in my condo. This whole job should have been finished in one month. When he finally finished installing the insulation it didn't pass inspection - defects had to be fixed. My village code inspector said this about the drywall work his crew performed (which they did in violation of the permit requirement besides), "It appears from the photographs that you have provided that the work (in its current state) may be substandard." This is what Ben Duterte, Technical Director of the Wall & Ceiling Bureau said about the drywall work performed by ServPro of Naperville, "All your pictures show substandard construction and should not pass any inspection." His crew walked off the job when I told them they had to secure a sheet of drywall that wasn't attached to anything - the compound would actually fall out of the joint if you pushed on the wall! We used SERVPRO in February this year when our kitchen flooded. It was a very stressful situation and we didn't know the extent of the damage right away. The SERVPRO crew came to our house within hours of our call and started the restoration process which included removal of tile and cabinets as well as using several large fans and dehumidifiers to dry the floor and drywall. After a few days Tony and his team were back at the house testing for remaining moisture and mold. Once we had the all clear my insurance company informed us the kitchen was a complete loss and had to be rebuilt. I spent the next several weeks working with my insurance company and trying to find my own contractors to now replace my entire kitchen. Having a full time day job this was extremely difficult and beyond stressful. When Jodi Thorton called to see how everything was going I updated her on my progress and explained how overwhelming the process was to find all of the different contractors I would need to build my kitchen. Once Jodi told me that SERVPRO performed Building and Reconstruction Services I requested her to do the work on the spot! Jodi was extremely professional and personable and managed every aspect of our kitchen rebuild! My experience with Servpro of Naperville has been excellent from start to finish. We were out of town when I received a call in the middle of the night from one of our tenants saying that there was water leaking everywhere from the 2nd floor. Our insurance company contacted Servpro, and I received a call from them within 30 minutes. They said they could have someone out there within 4 hours, but it was decided to come out the next morning since the leak had been stopped. When we returned home the next day, I went to the townhome; and I was in shock. Nearly every room in the house (except the master bathroom which coincidentally is the only room we really wanted to update) was affected. ALL of the flooring was taken up, kitchen cabinets and 2 of the 3 vanities removed, and 80% of the drywall either was completely removed or flood cut. I mainly dealt with Jermaine who I have to say was one of the most professional individuals I've ever worked with. He took the time to explain everything, took several people on separate tours to show them the damage, and would stop what he was doing to take some measurements for me when I called. He was always patient in explaining what was going on, and he was never irritable (which I would be after working all day in a hot, humid environment like our townhouse was). My calls or texts were always returned promptly. I hope this review gets back to Jermaine and his superiors because again he couldn't have represented this company any better. I've dealt with a lot of customer service, or people who claim to be customer service, and they could all learn something from how well this man deals with a customer. read more

Our insurance company recommended ServPro to handle replacing our first floor tile due to water damage. They were awesome! They took great care in protecting our areas not under construction. They communicated every step of the way and were our advocate in dealing with a tile supplier. Everyone who came through our home was punctual, considerate and polite. With all the rain we have had recently unfortunately our basement flooded. James and his crew where fast very professional and explained the process and made the situation easier for us. They were so nice and friendly and made the situation better in these trying times. They also were mindful of social distancing and safety precautions during this pandemic. I had a fire in my home on April 26, 2016 my insurance company recommended them. they showed up very promptly the next day. Sense then everything they did was wrong they lied to me and my wife. They have no idea how to clean a house that had a fire. I watch them clean individual items in my home and after they were done they were still covered Remains of the fire. After 8 days of them in my home and a fire that me and my wife put out our self they decided that they do not want to finish the job. They got paid up substantial amount of money they're clean half my house. And we had to re clean everything they touched. Not including all of the items they removed from my home that came back that were broken. I have never posted on the site before but please do not hire this company to do anything in your home. I wish there was a way that my insurance company could get their money back. It is now June 7th and my house is still in disarray. And again this was a very small fire. If you hear the name Jodie or James from serve pro walk away. Neither one of them know how to clean a house. I wish there was a way to rate them lower than one star. read more

Our basement flooded this week and we hired Servpro of Naperville for mitigation and restoration. It was a two person crew and James from Servpro was assigned to do the job. I asked them for the estimate for the job and was quoted between 7K to 8K. At this point I asked them to give me a breakdown of cost so that I can choose the services. James mentioned that most of the cost is for equipment rental, which I can refuse to keep the cost down later on and offered a payment plan.They put 21 fans and 2 commercial dehumidifiers to dry the basement with 1 foot of external walls cut and all the flooring gone. Next day James asked for a payment without an invoice. When I insisted on the invoice, his attitude became unprofessional and he cancelled the payment plan option because I was asking for the invoice. I called the Servpro office send me the invoice and to pick up the equipment (21 fans were too many in my opinion). Jodi from Naperville office suggested that I am better off renting the equipment rather than paying extra after hour emergency fee. Servpro was called at 11.00 in the morning and worked till 10 pm with a crew of 2 people. They had not mentioned this emergency fee intially. I feel that Servpro of Naperville took advantage of my situation with unprofessional behavior and unfair billing. DO NOT USE THEM!! read more

We contacted 4 different companies to provide mold remediation services for our crawl space, basement and attic. All the other companies just left me feeling taken advantage of, their quotes weren't even in the same ballpark and were full of add-on's and extra's that I didn't need. Barton from Servpro of Naperville came to our house and explained what we needed, what we didn't need, went through the process and his estimate was extremely competitive. He communicated easily throughout the process, was quick to return his estimate and his team did an amazing job remediating our space and leaving it clean and looking brand new. Do not use. Spotty help. Had water damage. They showed up first day for five hours. Didn't show up day 2. Showed up day 3 for 5 hours, then nothing. House is a mess from workers spreading wall board plaster in the clean areas. The floors are white with wall board dust, and fans blowing. They have no plan. They have no consistent approach. They tear out some water logged areas, while leaving others. This is definitely different than the commercial. They left damaged wall board up, saying it will dry. It will, but in very interesting shapes (sagging, holes, dimples, etc.) Find a responsible company. This is a franchise. There is no one to escalate to! read more
