That was the beginning of December. i sent information that was needed 12/24/24 and it is 1/23/24 and it took, emails, text messages over 10 days to receive a response. It is always nice to write a 5 star review for truly great service. ServPRO deserves credit for a job well done and for fixing what was a "nightmare experience" with another company. We started out with another company to address a mold issue. They were fired for their poor quality of work, but it put us in a tough spot trying to find someone to do it correctly after the fact. I called and first spoke to Dorothy on the phone. She was wonderful, asked a lot of questions, and was very empathetic to the situation. She put me into contact with Scott and a couple of hours later he was in our home to assess the situation and strategize our next steps. He was knowledgeable and about the mold remediation process and proposed a plan that would pick up where the others left off and correct the problems the other company left behind. Scott arranged to have a crew on-site the next morning. and showed up to make sure everyone was on the same page. That and the great crew put our mind at ease. The crew did an amazing job and exceeded our expectations. They kept everything clean and did everything that was promised. They wore shoe covers and masks to be respectful without me even suggesting. They gave great solutions, and were so honest. Do not call this company. State Farm recommended this company after a pipe burst. Called at 3:00 on 1/18/24. Received a call back about 4:00. Told I was on a waitlist. Someone finally called at 9:00 to say they would be here at 10:00 1/19. At 9:30 Servpro called to say another job had come up and they wouldn't be here till next week. It was a school and the kids needed to get back to class. The rep was dealing with this all night. Okay it was a school. That doesn't mitigate my burst pipe damage. By next week I'll have mold and a bigger clean up. They were supposed to send a reference number. Never received. Call center said they are very busy. Yes, and if you can't pt handle the business say so...that would be respectful and appropriate business practice. Called Chicago fire and water restoration (should have called initially). They will be out In 2 hours. How come they can handle the increased business and serv pro can't. read more

A 5 star review for just the advice. I had wet patch on the ceiling (somewhere between the floors). I called a few folks to take a look. I was able to schedule an appointment within 24 hours of calling. Unfortunately, I called SERVPRO to get a second opinion. Now I know from this experience to always give them a call FIRST. Tom showed up the following morning and inspected an area in our utility closet showing signs of mold. The mold had been causing a musty and sweet smell and we couldn't figure it out until an air quality inspection company found the source and verified the type of mold with lab tests. Tom was offered a copy of the report to review but he respectfully declined so he could make his own judgement call. He confirmed that there was mold but it was a very small area and he would be stealing our money if we asked him to remove the mold. Tom gave us a suggestion to rectify the issue. After his initial assessment, Tom reviewed the inspection report and it had come to the same conclusion as he and that while there was a presence of mold, the controlled air sample from outside indicated there was a greater level of mold than inside our home. The next day, I picked up the recommended mold killing primer and applied it to the mold. After 24 hours, I applied a second coat and after the primer smell dissipated, the mold smell was also gone!! Tom saved us from a $2500 remediation bill! Two things I learned from this experience. 1.) Call SERVPRO of Morton Grove/East Niles FIRST. 2.) If you didn't contact them first, get a second opinion from SERVPRO of Morton Grove/East Niles. read more

Scott came to check out our storage locker as it had water back-up into it. I was so anxious about possibly having to empty the entire contents and was also anxious about possibly getting a growth of mold that would cause more issues. Not to mention that we would incur a huge cost that our insurance would not cover. Scott was easy-going, knowledgeable and thorough in checking out the entire locker. He used his moisture meter to check all of the walls. He made me feel at ease and reassured me with his expertise that the area was dry and did not need further treatment. While we were out of town we got news there was 4" of sewer water in our finished basement. Tom and the team from SERVPRO were incredibly responsive. Showed up at 11pm on Labor Day to assess the damage. They started the clean up process the next day - all while we were gone. They communicated with us, sent us pictures and completed the cleanup. They saved what they could but were also very honest about what needed to go for safety reasons. They also communicated directly with our insurance company and submitted the claims for us. While I sincerely hope to never go through this again, if we did I would not hesitate to use SERVPRO again. read more

I do NOT recommend this company. I feel that more work was done then was needed thereby making the cost greater. Also damage they caused was never repaired. Carlos, in charge of the crew, was very pleasant. I have a guest bathroom and a personal bathroom. I do not think they should have used my personal bathroom. When bringing in equipment they scratched my front door. Kept promising they would repair these scratches but never did it. I feel very much taken advantage of and hustled by this company. I was having a moisture/mold issue and needed someone to take a look at it. I called this SERVPRO and talked to the owner who was very helpful. He said he would have someone out within the hour and sure enough he was personally at my house 40 minutes later. Now I live in Downers Grove so the fact that they were able to get to me so fast surprised me! He ran a few tests to check humidity levels and then when inspecting the crawl space, he found a leaking pipe. His ability to find the source of the problem almost immediately was refreshing.
