I was so sad to see my Furnace Man Retire...at least sad for me. My home arrangements are a bit unique and I never thought anyone would work with me the way he did. Services United easily filled his shoes, everyone was great to work with, worked within my requests and did a great job of communicating with me. Looking forward to working with this team again next year! Thank you for all the help!! read more

It all started with a call from Jerry explaining the Aeroseal system. After her call, I did research, evaluated reviews and got some price quotes. Services United, as usual, had the most competitive price. It also helps that these folks replaced the hot water heater (gas), furnace (gas) and air conditioner several years ago, with excellent success. Alex, Angel and Todd worked tirelessly over a two day period. Plastic over their shoes and a complete clean up both days. Impressive. I got to see the 1" thick dust build up inside the ducts (34 years worth). They showed me before and after photos also. Day 1 was the duct cleaning. Alex and Angel did a great job. Day two was the application of the Aeroseal compound. Alex and Todd did a major repair in the ducting system to eliminate a leak that helped reclaim a 25% leakage rate on a 4 ton furnace. Angel and Alex did a great job sealing almost thirty leak points in the basement ducting. They had to use over three (3) gallons of sealing compound because of the major system leaks, where they normally use less than two in a home HVAC system. Alex and Todd left after 5 pm (9+ hours) when the clean up was complete. I've already noticed better heat flow in the far reaches of a 3000 sq. ft. home. The thermostat temperature was reduced by 3 degrees later in the day after they installed the Aeroseal. I'll be checking electric and gas usage over the next 2-3 months to see if there is a reduction. I recommend Services United to anyone who asks. Always had great techs, excellent service, competitive proposals. I also would recommend Angel, Alex, and Todd to anyone requiring HVAC work. This epic story is complete!!! read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, they lie to you, to get you to buy expensive items that you do not need! As a younger female, I think this practice is disgusting! If you use them, always get a second opinion! On 12/8 I had my yearly tune up service for my oil furnace scheduled with Services United. The technician got there and within ten minutes, he said the furnace failed and red tagged it, deeming it unsafe for use. I asked him why, as it has been working fine. He stated that it failed the smoke test, and that it had a cracked heat exchange. He said he was calling his supervisor to take a look and give me an estimate on a new furnace. His supervisor, Dave, arrived and took pictures of the furnace and started writing up an estimate. He did not perform any tests himself on the furnace. They gave me the estimate and told me I cannot use the furnace. I was skeptical about what they said, as the furnace has been running fine. And, on the copy of the work order that the technician completed and gave to me, there were discrepancies. Under "test performed", he checked off that the smoke test and heat exchange had 'NO leaks' and 'NO cracks'. Then under "description of work performed" he wrote, "red tagged due to failed smoke test and cracked heat exchange". The next day, I called another plumbing and heating company. I explained to them what happened and asked if they would be able to come out and give me a second opinion. They came out on 10/9, and performed a standard HVAC diagnostic level 2 test. He said there was nothing wrong with the furnace, after performing multiple tests, and that the only thing he would recommend is having it cleaned (which is what Services United was originally called to do). I turned the heat back on and it has been running, with no issues. After the other company left, I called Services United and spoke with a man working there who was not helpful at all. He just said he stood by his technicians claim that it failed, and that if I wanted to turn the furnace on, it is my choice. I explained to him that his technician wrote down two different thing things on the work order, which contradicted one another. He just stated that, "I saw discrepancies on the work order", and he "talked to him". I asked him to just cancel my monthly club with them and he just transferred me to his receptionist who cancelled it. No offer to come look at it again, no apologies for the discrepancies on the work order, and no explanation as to why that even happened!!! I had Deluxe plumbing and heating come out then to do the original yearly tune up, which services united was supposed to do! DONT TRUST THEM! read more

Not a fan of this company. Issues with my unit after they touched it. They blamed it on a circuit break. House was brand new. It was obvious that whatever they did that day caused the issue. Everything was perfectly working before they touched anything. The technician they sent out argued with me to the point I just said I needed to speak with his manager. The manager took care of the issue, but the damage was already done and I knew I was going to cancel the contract as soon as I could. I did and they said the technician didn't properly bill me the first time. I paid it and will not use or recommend them again. They talk about 100% Customer Guaranteed, but definitely not in my case! read more

I think your way to pricey. Gentleman came out last week to melt an ice block that I had in my system. Well he used my my wife's two hair dryers to melt it. And he wasn't even holding them he made a contraption out of electrical cords to hold it up. But you used our own products to melt something that you should of had tools for and then you charged us 600$ And the best is you told my wife it was from the speed of the fan. Which is bs. So if anything you should reimburse me 300$ for using my own stuff I had. read more

BE CAREFUL!!!!! I told them my new system (3 months old) needed to be checked because the domestic water temperature was too low, but it had been working fine for the last 3 months. They sent someone, charged me $160 which were for the visit and the diagnostic. Check this out, they sent the and he checked, not the domestic hot water system issue, but he decided to check the home heating system, "found a problem" not related to my actual problem, he said that it was missing a sensor and they would have to order it to come back and install it. I spoke to the technician and told him that the sensor had nothing to do with the hot water issue, and then I decided to look into it myself. I ended up fixing the problem and they said they wouldn't refund me the money because they did send someone to the house and they were willing to send him again on Monday ( 3 days later) but the people in the house didn't have hot water and we're in mid November. So they charged me for a bad diagnostic, didn't fixed anything and said they wouldn't give me a refund. read more

Came to service last year, told me I needed new boiler and oil tank so company owner came and convinced us to turn to gas be it winter. Said turn around would be quick. Space heaters for 8 weeks when told it would be 3. Two heaters still don't work in the house. Guy they sent to do the chimney work damaged the roof and claimed it wasn't him. Asked on the phone to talk to the own plenty of times and never got a call from him. If the oil tank was a 911 why did you not arrange for the leftover to be drained and taken out? The service guys were always great and friendly. But feel we got the shaft during the process and lack of follow up after having major work done is poor customer service. read more

my family and I woke up Christmas morning to no heat. We had this unit put in just over a year ago and had to have someone out 3 times already. Now this. This company advertises 24/7 emergency service and while I know it's Christmas and they want to be with their families too. They also need to. think about their customers who are home freezing as well. I would have called someone else but was not sure if that would void any warranty I have on this piece of crap unit. Maybe they could have at least reached out and talked to me so I would have known. read more

We recently converted our oil heat to gas. We did this because our furnace broke and rather than spend money for a new furnace we figured it was time to switch. Services United sales was very courteous and professional however during the installation of our new has furnace and water heater I expressed that we would like to keep the copper plumbing. The guys that worked on our system put it in their truck anyway. When I asked about it they lied and told me it was already at the office and I couldn't get it back. I have security cameras that show them taking it and putting it in their storage container still on my property and did not leave. I called the office and had to ask for management because nobody else would assist me. They were prompt and had the guys provide my copper. However when I talked to the sales rep again about it he had the nerve to tell me they work hard and expect that copper as extra payment. As if I don't work hard and deserve to keep my copper pipes!! I have tried several times to get the rebate I am supposed to be provided and the office staff advised only one person in their office knows how to do this and has been busy. I was told she will call me back several times and still no response. I will be taking my further business elsewhere after I get my rebate. Beware of this company! read more

Overall very satisfied with Service United. Came for an estimate within 1 day, then came to install central A/C within a week. All workers were nice and very knowledgeable! Just had one small area they didnt clean up, but definitely would use them again! The 90 degree weather didn't stop them from working in my attic either! I plan to use them for all my heating and air services from now on. Even the ladies in the office were SO nice and informative. read more

Very happy with the service... Ralph was very knowledgable about the issue and took the time to explain to me what was going on. Prices were reasonable and I have no doubt I will be calling on them along with recommending them. ONLY complaint would be I wish he had worn covers on his shoes but that is a minor one. read more

I had a wonderful experience with this company. I called them after dealing with another company to resolve a home warranty claim. It was a nightmare dealing with the previous company. When I called I was greeted with a wonderful receptionist who was so sweet and said she would do her best to get someone out that day. They did get someone out at exactly the time promised on very short notice! Our tech Ralph came out quickly assessed and explained the problem to my wife and then fixed it. He was kind, polite, professional and very neat. I would strongly recommend them. read more

We have used Services United for various repairs over the past few years and have always been happy with the service, rates and ease of dealing with the company. While always pleased in the past, that assessment rose to thrilled recently. On a snowy winter Saturday afternoon we discovered that our hot water heater had started to leak. A disaster for any home and a frustrating experience to have on a Saturday after business hours. From the time we made the first call until we had a new one installed and water heating again was two hours! It was an amazing experience from start to finish. From the professionalism and concern we received from Bob and his staff, to the installation we are beyond happy. I have been telling everyone I know to call them - you won't be sorry. read more

first of all I want to start by saying they over charged me and after over charging me charged my card a second time with out me knowing or my consent and after a week of the service repair the a/c unit stop working and they wanted to charge me another 200$ to come back out to look at their mess. I will never use them again or refer my friends and family to this company :( read more

I love this company and I am so glad I chose them for when I got a new AC unit just over 2 years ago. I have a service agreement with them, the best $20 a month I spend. When it was freezing this winter and my furnace was not working properly they came out within an hour. I jumped over all other customers who did not have a service agreement. My AC unit stopped working in late August. The condenser was fried, it was out of warranty by one month. Services United honored the warranty, replacing the condenser and not charging me one cent. I think Services United is the best and I highly recommend them to anyone who has heating or cooling needs. read more

From the very beginning my experience with Services United was wonderful. Spoke with Kathy in the office who took care of scheduling (she was awesome). Our service professional was Ed and he went above and beyond to take care of our furnace and washing machine. What a pleasure dealing with them. Absolutely would recommend them. Thanks read more

Do NOT use this company. Hired them to do a simple cleaning for my Oil Furnace. They didn't even clean it and did a 'so-called' puff test and told me that I have a cracked heat exchanger and will need a new oil burner. So the tech called his supervisor and the moment when he arrived it was clear he was a salesman, not a supervisor. You can easily tell the way he was dressed. So of course, he confirmed a cracked heat exchanger and was prepared 5 minutes later and gave me a quote with an installation cost of $6,000. I have a home warranty through American Home Shield so I called them as this would be covered as part of my warranty. So when the new company came out to inspect the so-called crack, there is absolutely no crack and I was informed that any older unit is going to have some smoke come back. With that said, my unit was cleaned and inspected and no issues. These are the type of things that give HVAC companies bad names. Not once did the tech or so called supervisor show me the crack in the heat exchanger. The other tech who confirmed no crack actually took everything apart and showed me the actual heat exchanger and told me that it was in very good shape even though the unit is old. read more

I had an emergency with a leak in my oil burning boiler. I called over 10 local companies and no one could help me. It was going to dip into freezing weather that night and Kathy from Services United was the only one that called me back after she said she would try and move some things around to have someone come help. They came and fixed the problem. Very professional and like I said, they only ones that were willing to help. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them again. read more

Went to this company when my oil furnace guy retired his business. He recommended Services United. They came to me house and serviced my OLD oil burner. We than moved and our new place has propane heat. I called them about checking my furnace and carrying the service over. They said no problem and serviced a neglected system. Heat last winter was phenomenal. Had them come out to check it for the upcoming winter and inquired about a central air system. They checked every thing out and said no problem, it would be easy. Got quoted a price, got the wife's permission and said OK. They called back the following Monday and said if I book it now, they'd knock $500 off the price. Came by yesterday, the 27th and had the whole system installed and running in 6 hours. I am VERY HAPY with their service and recommend them highly. Give them a call. read more

Great quick response, very friendly office staff from the first time I called. Owner, who is awesome, personally came out for estimate and was easily accessible via phone for any questions. They squeezed me in for work very quickly (new furnace and a/c system, electric, thermostat, etc). Couldn't be happier, they really took care of me. Would absolutely recommend! read more

So everything about working with this company has been a chore. They did a complete install in my houseand here's how it went. The first day when they cut the holea for the vents several were cut too small amd instead of opening the holes more they pushed the vents in and left them to stick up about an eigth of an inch. A coyple pieces of the duct work were not fitten correctly where it comes up through the floor either. When they set the pad down for the condenser the threw some stone down tried to push thebpile flat and left it unsupported on tje edges and unlevel. I spent my Saturday morning putting down stone and pouring a proper pad. I still got charged for the one they didnt use. When they cut the holes in the house for the fresh air intake and exhaust i asked that they didnt cut through the brick siding. This was an other request that proved to complicated for them. Now while they did fix the brick it shouldnt have happened in the first place. They cut the holes for the supply and the return in one room between the same two floor joists. This was another problem that could have been avoided by simple work planning and instead of owning up to a mistake the dropped the supply down from where they ran it between to othe joists over to the whole they had cut leaving a dip in the supply duct that hung down lower than anything else in the ceiling. When this was brought up to the installer and salesman my was told thays how we're doing the job you're going to have to deal with it. This now became the second floor repair of the job. After the gas line was run to the house they came back to connect it to the system. The installer wanted hang a manifold about four feet from the basement wall and again lower than everything else. I explained to hin that his plan was unacceptable. He managed to figure out how to not do that but when UGI came out to connect the meter they looked at the work in the basement and informed us that the regulators are in the wrong place. Instead of being at the appliance the installer connected them all to the manifold. I haven't called them about that one yet. We were told that the install would take 3 or 4 days it took about 3 weeks because the installer they sent never arrived before 10am and only worked until about 2 or 3. To top it all off the system they installed doesn't cool the second floor of the house. Do tourself a favor and keep looking I'm sure there are much better companies for the money. read more

SCAMMERS! I called Services United for service on my AC Unit for my rental property. Since I was not going to be available to be on-site, they asked for my credit card information up front. They specified that it was going to be a $89 fee for the tech to come out and that once the tech diagnoses the issue, he would call me to tell me what's wrong and for me to authorize any repair needed. I agreed. The tech was a guy named "Ralph". He called me and the first thing he said was that my unit was low on Refrigerant and that that was the reason the AC was not working. He then said that there was damaged coil that MIGHT. have been damaged by it expanding and contracting for 7 years and that it MIGHT need to be replaced and that it MIGHT still be under warranty. He then proceeded to tell me that it would cost me $746 for today's visit that included the refrigerant. He told me that refrigerant is very expensive. I authorized the service fee and he put the refrigerant in my unit. Shortly after the service, I received a call from Kathy Snyder. She told me that the coil was not under warranty and that it would cost $3k to replace the coil or $6k to replace the entire unit. She explained to me that she spoke to Ralph and he told her that because there was a LEAK in the coil, the refrigerant would not last long and that the AC unit will fail again. She sent me an email with a quote for the additadditional service and today's fee would be waved if I accepted the quote. I called Kathy and asked her about today's service and how the tech NEVER informed me about any leak in the unit. She "unfortunately, you authorized the repairs and that's what you are being charged for". I told her that if the tech would have given me that information, I would not have added refrigerant to a leaking unit. I asked to speak to a manager and she handed the phone over to "Bob". Bob told me that I should have known there was a LEAK because the unit was low on Refrigerant. I told Bob that they are scamming innocent customers that are not tech savvy or handy. Be careful with this company. They will not tell you the entire truth until AFTER they take your money! read more
