I found them from angi.com. I asked them to come give estimate on shower faucet cartridge change, they gave $800+ (I guess that's their "standard" quote). I have dealt with plumbing issues/plumbers for a long time, and knew this price is way out of proportional. It should not be much more than $300 including parts/labor. My issue started five years ago when I purchased a brand new AC unit we had nothing but problems and asked for it to be replaced was denied was told I couldn't claim their 100% satisfaction guarantee and now today I'm being told that it's leaking refrigerant on a unit that's less than five years old and it's no longer under any warranty but when I called Amana the unit manufacturer it still is under parts warranty after they told me it would not be covered. They also told me that all of this would cost me over $4500. Spent all day trying to speak with a manager about the issue. Only to be told that one will not be calling me back. Matt the operations manager refused. I would not recommend using them whatsoever. They do not stand behind their own warranties and do not care about you as the customer. I am very disappointed with my recent experience using Service Professional's plumbing services. While the repair was ultimately completed, the entire process was marked by repeated communication failures, broken scheduling promises, and poor coordination that caused significant disruption to my family and work. Key concerns: * I was repeatedly assured of service times that were not honored, with no proactive updates and conflicting information from multiple representatives. * I literally waited over 8H for a technician to arrive after initially being given a 2H time frame. The technician spent 3H on a Friday night trying to unsuccessfully unclog a drain. * Your company's lack of direct communication with technicians left me uninformed and forced me to take an unplanned day off work, as well as incur additional costs for a hotel stay. * I felt highly pressured into agreeing to and leaving a large deposit for a costly repair estimate without the opportunity to seek alternative quotes. * The technician arrived over an hour late again on Monday despite assurances he would not be late and I would be notified if there was any delay. The work area was left messier than I expected, requiring me to spend time cleaning up. Positive notes: The repair was completed, and the technician shared helpful photos of the clogged pipe. However, these positives were overshadowed by the overall lack of communication and scheduling reliability. I also had a boiler, water heater, and a new electrical panel installed by your company back in 2021 and the process and service was 5 star. It is very disappointing that this latest service went downhill the way it did. Summary: To improve customer trust and satisfaction, Service Professionals really needs to focus on: * Clear, consistent communication and proactive updates on scheduling appointment times. * Reliable scheduling and honoring promised commitments * Allowing customers time to consider alternative options without pressure to leave a large 25% deposit to "lock in" future services right now. * Ensuring technicians leave work areas clean and presentable. * If your company provides a means to email customer service, at least respond to the customer to acknowledge their concerns. * Proactively reach out to the customer for a general follow-up on how things went especially after services were completed. The Service Professional plumber got to my home late, then looked at tank and quoted me over $650.00 to replace the parts I provided. When I said I can buy a whole new toilet for that. He asked me how much I wanted to pay? Are you kidding me! I'm already in for the $80 visit fee. He then said he could replace the fill valve and one rubber ring from the flush valve for $150+. BUYER BEWARE In 2024, after hearing Service Professional's radio ads, I called to schedule an AC tune-up. My husband was home during the service call, but I was not present to ask questions. Following the appointment, I was bombarded with texts, emails, and phone calls soliciting me for service contracts, etc. A few weeks ago, a representative called me offering another special to perform my AC tune-up for 2025. This time, I was home. After the service call, I was disappointed to learn that the tune-up was nothing more than checking the system and its components, providing photographs and videos of dirty condenser coils, and mentioning other issues of concern. The technician then attempted to sell me a service contract and suggested several high-priced services, including a condenser cleaning at almost $600.00. I decided to do some research on cleaning condenser coils. I performed a close inspection of my condenser unit and found that the coils were not "compacted with debris" as indicated in the technician's report. I also determined that the picture I was shown of clogged, dirty coils was not my condenser. I now have to question if the other issues were fabricated as well. read more

The technician quoted me $850 to replace it, I said wow! Too much! I said I'd need quoted $550 elsewhere, immediately that price went down to $500, with approval from his manager. Of A-410 A Freon Tech advised the Freon was $500. On top of the $100.00 service call . The tech seemed very professional so we gave him a 5 star review. 12 hours later AC stopped working. Called the after hours number twice (it was very hot and humid). Left two messages with their on call people and did not get a return call until Monday Morning. On Monday the same tech came out and charged us another maintenance call. One of the units is not cooling so I called them (5/28.2020) and the service rep checked my account and confirmed that I was covered under the warranty. The service appointment was confirmed and the technician was less than 20mins away from the apartment the next day. Then another rep called me to say that they had made a mistake and that the unit was not under warranty and they do not service them. Would absolutely NOT recommend this business. They gave my parents a quote for replacing a leaking faucet in their shower. Because my elderly parents were desperate for a working shower they said yes - even though the price was a whopping (ridiculous) $2600. The next day I found someone else - $950. They came in, wore booties, covered all floors, did an absolutely professional job, same shower fixtures we would've been getting from "Service Professionals" (haha) and even did a bit more work than Service Professionals were going to do. Service Professionals took less than a minute to charge my parent's credit card for the "deposit" (the other plumber didn't even ask for one) and we are still waiting for our refund 2 weeks later. I needed a main water valve replaced in a 10 unit condo. The plumber wanted us to "get air behind water" by opening all the faucets in a bunch of units. We coordinated with the other owners and were able to get 8 of the owners to comply. After many calls to his manager, the plumber insisted that wasn't good enough, didn't even check if the pipe was dry enough to work on, and left. I got another plumber to do the work. He replaced the valve without touching any faucets outside of my own. He was on site less than an hour. The charge was 1/3 what I was quoted by Service Professionals. S/P had the gall to charge me a dispatch fee. Myself and my neighbors were highly inconvenienced by what should have been a very easy job. Not competent at all. read more

We had a leak in our drain pipe and needed a plumber to replace the hot water valve in our bathroom, it got stuck open. Went to Home Advisor (who I doubt, I will be using again)and found Service Professionals. Great reviews, A+ BBB rating. They charged us over $3700 for a new vanity and sink, a new drain pipe and two new shut off valves. The job should have been less than $2000.00 with a nice profit for them. I was stupid for being taken and there is no excuse for that, but if I can help someone else, I will. If you are reading this and are considering using them, move on and don't waste your time. Please check out my review in 2014 about converting from oil to gas. I stick by my dismal experience with Service Professionals. And if the woman 'reached out' to me she didn't listen to my message which says I do not answer w/o knowing who is calling. If she left a message, I wouldn't call them back and it should have been one of the two men who sold me their services in the first place. Since it is now 4 years later and I am selling my house, I checked all my permits to be sure all were closed. Guess what - Service Professionals who were SUPPOSED to make sure they filed and finished all permits, did not (surprise!!). I had to make appointments for electric final & furnace final myself these years later!). My buyer wanted to know who put the furnace in and if there is/was a warranty. While it is a great furnace, I was WAY over-charged for it and since my dismal experience with them 4 years ago, I have used my own plumber for fall service. I would never recommend these people and I doubt her explanation about who they were using for services is true because they use a variety of sub-contractors for their services. ***BEWARE OF SCAMMERS*** Service Professionals has tried scamming me twice in a span of 4/5 months & I am convinced they are trying to take advantage of people as they must be desperate for some cash due to the pandemic. First, back in July, I started having problems with my 5-year-old Rheem water heater that stopped turning the gas on. I identified the issue was a defective vapor sensor. Service Professionals came & told me I should change it claiming Rheem wasn't reliable & that it would cost me between $4500 to $6000 depending on the type of water heater I wanted. Knowing it was only 5 years old, I insisted to get the cost to fix it instead so the technician tried convincing me a few other things were wrong with the current install & I should change them at the same time. I was quoted a minimum of $450 to change the sensor & over $1000 to fix the other things. I bought the sensor for less than $25 & changed it myself (despite being the least handy person possible) & the water heater has been working fine since. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and moved on! Six weeks ago, Service Professionals came to perform my yearly maintenance on my 2 high-efficiency furnaces. What normally takes 30 mins to do for both units took the technician 2+ hours. In the end we were told the 2 units had a laundry list of problems, were extremely dangerous & must be changed immediately. Not only the technician shut the 2 units down but he also zip tied the gas pipes to freak us out! How convenient that both units are defective at the exact same time despite working perfectly fine until now and should be changed right away with the cold weather coming up 2 days later. I questioned it and the technician told he recently did a very detailed training & now knows what to look for when doing the maintenance... despite doing it for 30 years! Later that day, a sales person came & told us it would cost between $15K to $18K to change both units. Needless to say, we became extremely suspicious of the diagnostic and decided to get another opinion two days later. The other company performed the maintenance & confirmed they tried to scam us. I contacted Service Professionals back to express my concerns & requested my money back. Someone called me back (I assume one of the owners or managers) standing behind his technician's diagnostic, & advising me the other company I hired wasn't reputable enough and I should get another professional opinion from a reputable company & he recommended a few of them to me. I followed his advice, got another opinion from one of those companies he suggested. Once again, they also confirmed my furnaces were fine, did not need to be changed nor required any immediate repair. I tried calling the owner/manager back but he conveniently has not picked up his phone nor called me back despite my multiple voicemails. There is no doubt in my mind that Service Professionals must have tried to pull this same trick on a bunch of people this year. While I don't think I will get my money back at this point (or the extra money I spent on getting a two other opinions). Service Professionals of Union have been our AC company since install. For 16 years they serviced or fixed an issue we would have with our AC. Last week our AC stopped working. Service Professionals was called and Zak came out. First time to my home. After being here 1/2 hour he came in with pictures and said our machine was no longer working. Wires were burned etc and we have a R22 system which no longer is used so would I like him to send someone out to talk about a new AC. We told him no as we are looking to sell our home. He told us he could try and do a repair which would run us about a thousand dollars but he couldn't guarantee it would even work an hour. We thanked him and said we would let them know our decision. My husband used to be a troubleshooter for a utility company and we know someone with hvac knowledge so we asked him to come take a look for a second opinion. He came over and between him and my husband they changed 2 wires that took 20 minutes and my AC a week later is still working fine. Do the repairmen get commision on upsell???? 2 wires - twenty minutes and he told me over a THOUSAND DOLLARS to try and fix it. Up until now I thought they were a reputable company. If I was a senior citizen with no knowledge this would have cost me upwards of $13000.00. After it was fixed and up and running my husband called to tell the owner what happened and they said the estimate which their repairman wrote up and I never received was accurate. What my husband and his friend did would have cost $1100.00 because they don't charge hourly they charge per job. So I will try to be fair and say they would have done a little more than my husband did and it would have taken them an hour. My bill still would have been $1100.00. That is some profit. We called them to replace a gas valve on a water heater as part of a manufacture's warranty. They looked at the 8 year old water heater and only wanted to replace the entire water heater. They would not let the manufacture send them the part and they would not price the job by parts and labor and they did not want to simply replace the faulty gas valve even after pricing the job at $600. BUT they charged us a service fee for the visit because we didn't use them to replace a water heater under warranty!!!!! Booked an HVAC inspection for home I'm purchasing. They put me on the schedule but oddly requested approval from the current homeowner. It seemed odd, but I worked to get it. Was informed by the seller's agent that a "half-assed" and unprofessional email came through with no contact info asking for some vague approval. I called the company and left a message. No one calls me back for day. I called again thinking something must have been lost in translation. Now they tell me that they don't even do HVAC inspections, and can't help me. Clearly they don't know what they are doing, so I asked for them to just cancel the appointment entirely. While waiting for the representative to cancel my appointment, the line went silent (but no dead) and no one returned. I was quoted $2100 to put a shower membrane down and redo the drain. When I refused the plumber called his boss who reduced the price to $1800. I told them that no way will I pay that amount. After the plumber left I called a master plumber from Morristown and he came out and did the entire job in one hour and charged me $250 which included the membrane and a new drain. I wish we had read reviews on this company before calling them. I, as other reviewers have indicated, would not even give one star if it were an option. This is going to be a long complaint. If you don't have the time to read the whole thing...skip right to the end, but DO READ!! They're technician, Scott, came out early evening. Our unit was only installed a year and a half ago. He was concerned that it hadn't been "descaled" which he said should be done once a year. He showed me the air intake screen which was dirty and in need of cleaning. He said he couldn't find the blockage in the intake (the vent pipes do turn minimally but the run is under 10 foot!). I asked him if he had snaked the pipe and he said "with a drain snake?" He gauffed that "you can't use a drain snake for vents." He called me down to show me some water leaking inside the unit and some buildup on the heat exchanger. He said that it was a major problem and I asked if it would be covered by warranty and he said probably not since the unit was never serviced or descaled. He told me the company honor warranty work since the unit was over a year old and had not been descaled. Scott indicated the Navien offices were closed since it was after 6:00 PM but there's no way they would approve a claim on the unit. I told him he should wait to discuss the issues with my husband because I knew he'd have questions for him. After my husband came home and he went over everything including the price of the new unit. Which Scott indicated as necessary since the work involved with replacing the heat exchanger was just as much as a installing a new unit. And wait for the price...$5600.00!! I was appalled. A year and half ago the unit was only $2500.00. That's more than double?! Reluctantly, we gave him a check for $2600.00 and they were to come the following day with a new unit. We really just wanted a hot shower...a $3000.00 hot shower? Sounds more like a hosing. Ohhh and he left us with no hot water!! The next morning I called a plumber friend and told him the story. He said "are you nuts??" H called the supply house he deals with and could he could get the same unit that morning for $1424.00. I immediately said do it! We promptly cancelled our install with Service Professionals. When Peter, of PKG Plumbing, came to the house he immediately got a feeling like this was a scam. He saw no water on the exterior of the unit but did see a few drops inside. I told him that the unit wasn't covered under warranty since it was over a year old...to which he responded that they have a 5 year warranty, not 1 year as Service Professionals had said. I told him that they Service Professionals hadn't called since the Navien office is only open until 6:00 PM...to which he responded that were open until 11:00 PM. Shankin this head, he the company regarding a warranty and was told by Navien that a claim had already been placed and they were just waiting for pictures of the unit to complete the claim. So Peter took pictures to complete the claim. The company is sending out a new heat exchanger...incredible that a new unit isn't needed as Service Professionals indicated. And Peter cleared the error and got my hot water working again until the new unit comes in 2 days! Hats off to an honest plumber. One that I should have called from the start. I put a stop payment on my check and called the company to tell them my reason. I asked theme about the claim which Navien had received, to which the Service Manager indicated they "do not perform warranty work." She was sure it hadn't been them who called in a claim on the unit. IMPOSSIBLE! We've never had an issue with the unit and Service Professionals was the first and only people to look at it. LIARS!! I explained that the conduct used for this service call is fraudulent and criminal. I told her that I stopped payment on the check and I will it pay them for the initial service call. I further explained that if they pursued any actions of claim against me for the service call fee I would contact the Attorney Generals Office and I would contact the NJ Licensing Board and go after their Master Plumbers license. She was "apologetic that they couldn't meet my expectations" and went on a scripted dialogue about how long the company was in business and I could care less about your script. The fact of the matter is...they would have charged me $5600.00 to replace a $1500.00 water heater at best with AND benefited from the claim they placed on the warranty with a new heat exchanger they would have sold to someone else for a ridiculous price. I feel sorry for anyone who has used them and has been ripped off by them or for anyone who may end up using them because of Google ads popping them up first under their search engine. They prey on people in need. This company and their employees are disgusting, unethical and they have no morals about committing acts of fraud. read more
