Scheduled an appointment for the same day our unit was not working due to poor repair job by a different company. Pardee was able to discover the issue and due to how poorly our unit was repaired decided to ultimately get a new unit and all together and Pardee decided to waive our diagnostic fee was completely. Our new unit was installed two days later. Just simply amazing and efficient service. You have the option to lease or finance your unit. We chose the finance option. read more

Last summer my AC wasn't working and they replaced something, and talked me into some service program for a year. I called them because Gene Pardee is a friend of my ex husband. Apparently he sold the company. So the first time they were here they told me I needed everything new, including a new water heater, and, with payments, it would cost $30,000!! The second time they came it was for a check up, and I was told about the same. They said my AC isn't working, but it works fine....they did something to my thermostat and AC won't go below 68, and it didn't do that before. Both times I had another HVAC person come out and they told me I didn't need all that at this time. . If they think that I'm some gullible woman, they are wrong! But, unfortunately, someone may be and they will be ripped off. I don't want them in my house again!!! read more

I had a coupon for 2 system tune ups for $99. Immediately after tech arrived I was informed this coupon was not for a two system tuneup while he was there. After 20 mins of wasted time & talking on the phone with his boss,they finally agreed to honor the coupon. Tech rushed thru the "tune up" & presented me a bunch of paperwork & print outs after he was done. All of the info was confusing & he did not want to take time to explain. I did notice he wrote the ambient outside temp was 52 on the paperwork. I showed him the actual temp was 65. If you can't get the outside temp correct, how do I know the rest of the tech info is accurate. I was glad when the "tune up" was over. It was a stressful experience that I will not go thru again with this company. I'm being very nice with a 3 star rating. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service!!! First off, we had a service tech come out to check our system. Immediately insisted we had an issue with our ducts. We knew they needed work but still didn't explain why refrigerant line wasn't cold...and why we didnt have this problem last summer. Anyway, we decided to get our trunk line redone since we needed it anyway. Well....here we go: Below are a list of issues that I have with Pardee Service Experts and am not anywhere near 100% satisfied. 1. $100 not received. Had a coupon for Service Call with Repair FREE and Tech told us that we would be issued the refund with the repair. We had a $5600 repair and still have not seen the $100? It has been at least a month? 2. 7/11/2016 Gentleman came out to inspect bathroom fan suction problem. He initially said it was probably a fan problem and I know it was caused by the new duct work that was installed. I had to repeatedly tell him to inspect it and eventually he did and the new duct work that was installed by Pardee was smashing the bathroom fan duct. He fixed it, however I had to pretty much tell him to repeatedly, after giving me the notion that it wasn't his problem and that Pardee did not break it during the install of the new main trunk line. 3. I paid $5600 for a new main Trunk Line with manual adjusting dampers at the breakout sections. When I tried to adjust them they were all covered and sealed with mastic making it impossible to adjust them without destroying the installation job and cutting into the mastic which is going to be a nightmare. So i called Pardee to have them come out and look into fixing the issue. a. I told the tech this on 7/11/2016. When he investigated it he told me he didn't even think that there were dampers installed. He obviously did not even look hard because I know that each branch had a damper, you can pull back some of the insulation to see the lever that adjusts the dampers that are covered in mastic. b. After I convinced him that dampers were installed he told me that he suggested adjusting the airflow of the ducts at the registers and not at the dampers. I just paid $5600 for a new trunk line with dampers and installation from Pardee and the Pardee tech told me that I didn't need dampers? This makes me furious!! Why would Pardee sell and install dampers and then tell me that I don't need to use them? 4. Delayed Response Time: a. Called 6/20/16 for bathroom fan vent obstruction after new trunk line had been installed, was told that someone would be calling the following day to come out and fix it. i. No calls or service tech showed up, Called 6/27/16 to follow up. Informed me that service tech would call the next day ii. No calls or service tech showed up. Called 7/10/16 to follow up. Informed me that service tech would call the next day iii. Tech came out on 7/11/16 on time b. Salesman/quote giver (Robert) schedule appt for 7/13/16 @ 3PM to quote me for new furnace since our air handler blower went out and didn't show up on time and received no call ahead. He showed up well after 3PM and just left his card and did not call or leave a voicemail Note: i fixed the DC blower motor with a $10 part when i was told that a new one was going to be around $1300. Waiting on yet another visit....and they are 20 minutes late as of right now. read more

Horrible experience and still unresolved. I called for plumbing service for plugged kitchen sink. The first technician came with a plunger and acid. He was unsuccessful with plunger and stained my sink with the acid. I was told someone would return in morning with snake. No one came and I was forced to call. They said tech misunderstood and someone was supposed to call me in morning. No call was received. Then they sent the second tech. He had a snake and tried for a while and said finally I would need to call another company because it was more than they could do. He was told to tell me 120$ charge. I refused saying not only did my sink not get fixed, it was stained permanently. (called another company and they had no problem snaking drain and clearing it) I called Pardee and was referred to plumbing manager. His communication has been sparse and I even had to look up the replacement sink myself and send him the part number because he couldn't figure it out. Now I'm being told to call another company to replace sink and they will reimburse ( through text ). I am skeptical that Pardee will be true to their word so I asked for email stating Pardee will pay for replacement. Still haven't heard from plumbing manager's "boss". The customer service is terrible and I do NOT recommend calling Pardee for drain clearing. They are not equipped to accomplish the task and my sink was ruined. read more

Buyer beware! My experience with Pardee/Service "Experts" has been nothing but problematic from the original sales proposal to the installation through more follow up service calls in the last 14 months than I have has in 20+ years of home ownership (4homes). Hardware problems, poor installation, broken assurances have been the major headaches not to mention wasted time waiting on service technicians and follow up calls. Unfortunately I'm on the hook because to maintain the quoted 10 year warranty I have to maintain an expensive annual service contract. The technician service manager at Pardee contacted me and we were able to discuss the issue raised in my earlier review. The resolution was satisfactory and can be considered closed. Hired Pardee to come out to service a HVAC unit. When the technician got there he advised it would be a simple $300 fix. His supervisor came out later and all of a sudden it was a $1658 repair. After the fix the unit was running very loudly, enough to disturb my wife, and when I called them to review and take care of it they advised it would be an additional trip charge of $99 just to come out plus any repair costs to fix the issue they created. I asked to speak with the supervisor "Joe" and was advised I would get a call back later that day, 3 days later and no response. They also tried over billing me by sending an invoice to my for additional money owed but when I call they have no record of it. read more

We sold our Johns Island house recently. Only 6 years old. We were on an annual maintenance plan with Pardee, and we felt that we were given a fair deal and the techs were always knowledgeable and friendly. Then we had a home inspector check out the house before we listed, just to make sure we would have no issues when buyers' inspector came through. Our inspector went in the attic and found where there was a huge hole in the ducting where it meets up with the A/C unit, and apparently had been like that for some time (maybe years). Our inspector actually had a handyman fix it. Unfortunately our Pardee tech never made us aware of the issue. But we spent hundreds $$$ over time heating and cooling our attic. :( read more

I have been a Pardee customer a while now... Last week, I was offered a discount on a pre-season check-up at my condo in West Ashley, so I took it !! My Tech, Patrick, arrived right on schedule. He noticed wiring on my furnace that was done poorly by the people who originally installed the unit, and fixed it promptly, without my having to ask ! He checked my AC unit outside too, and patiently answered my questions about coolant pressure. He told me about the Service Plan, and I signed up for it - that way I can get my systems checked in the spring before it gets hot again, and get priority service if, God forbid, something should go wrong with the heater in the winter !! I've been pleased with Pardee's service thus far. Patrick was very polite and respectful, and I remain a happy customer !! read more

Absolute worst company to deal with, came out and said condenser was bad we spent $2800 to have it replaced, it worked for nine days and then quit, they came back and said it had a small Freon week and took care of it, two days later and it quit working again and when they came back they said it was the coil another $900 but took over a week to get the part in. August in Charleston over 90° every day & NO AIR conditioning for more than a week their solution "buy three or four window units, use them, then return them when we get your system fixed" #Shady read more

I had them come out to look at my water heater. They quoted me over 2,000 with interest over 4,000 total when all said and done. But that's not the worst part. I had another company come out for a second opinion and it was just my thermostat. They just wanted my money and I am beyond upset. I have lived in the same house since 1984 and never gave a second thought to HVAC line drains. We never had an issue until Pardee installed brand new HVAC units in our house a few years ago. We even bought into the high priced so called Platinum Service plan so we get our units inspected twice a year using this plan. Last year we noticed a wet spot in our ceiling and Pardee came out and determined it was from a clogged line drain from the HVAC unit. Pardee unclogged the line drain. While doing this work, a Pardee technician somehow managed to FALL THROUGH OUR CEILING and down our stairs! To their credit, they did hire someone to fix the ceiling. We learned our lesson with the line drain, so at each inspection we tell Pardee to EXAMINE and CLEAN the line drain. Each time the "box is checked" that was done. Two months ago, we had Pardee come out for an HVAC inspection and no issues were brought up (assume the line drain is clear because they checked and cleaned it right?) . A few days ago, the upstairs thermostat goes blank and the HVAC is inoperable upstairs. We have Pardee come out again. Guess what? The line drain is plugged AGAIN and now there is a mysterious new puncture in the duct work. If the technician checked the line drain just 2 months ago, how can it be plugged again? Also, if there was a puncture in the duct work, wouldn't that be obvious to the technician who performed the latest inspection? Even if it isn't explicitly part of the Platinum Plan, if a technician is in my attic looking around, one would think it would be noticeable? The technician noticed the duct issue while in the attic addressing the clogged line drain issue. Why not the inspection? Did a puncture occur by itself? I wanted some answers, so I called Pardee and talked to the secretary and explained the situation. She agreed that it was strange the drain line should be plugged again and took my number and told me the manager Gene would call me. I didn't really expect a call back and I was not disappointed and have not heard from him yet. I am not really sure what happened. I can't prove or disprove that the line drains were cleaned as I don't go up in the attic with the technician. It is highly unlikely though the line drains would clog after 2 months (if they were cleaned as requested). Also, this line drain issue seems to keep a nice revenue stream coming into Pardee every once in a while we have that issue. It also makes me question if we need to use a different HVAC company from now on as there are plenty to choose from in the Charleston area with much better customer service. So much for that "100% Customer Satisfaction" guarantee they tout on their website. read more

I read the poor reviews, but my experience is completely different. I've used numerous companies over the years and all of them have told me something different. I've spent a lot of money and my system still doesn't work properly. Today, Lindell came out and he took his time. He checked every single thing out individually. He even caught where another company had done something they shouldn't have, which had affected our system. He didn't try to sell us anything. While he worked, he took the time to explain what he was doing so we understood. When he was done, he stayed and happily answered all of our questions. read more

In 2003 I replaced an old system with a Lenox HVAC unit from Pardee. And in 2012, I replaced another old system with a Lenox from Pardee. Both of these units work well and have been under Pardee maintenance agreements since they were purchased. The quality of the units is not my issue. CUSTOMER SERVICE is AWFUL!! My prepaid maintenance agreement is for two maintenance service calls per year. So since 2003 there have been over 25 visits. Rarely has the technician arrived on time and, to make matters worse, the company does not have the courtesy to let me know there will be a delay. Today I had an apppointment for the 8-10 a.m. slot. Again, no one bothered to let me know the technician would be delayed. Once more, I called them to find out when to expect the tech. He arrived almost two hours later than the agreed upon time. UGGH! I will soon need to replace an HVAC unit. I will NOT select Pardee as my contractor. read more

I had 4 other quotes to do some basic AC work ranging from $165-$400. Pardee showed up and said it would be an all day job and would cost $850. When I said I wasnt going to pay that they then charged me a $99 diagnostic fee even though the technician only took a couple of pictures and looked at the system for maybe 3-5 minutes. I left detailed notes with the lady on the phone on exactly what I wanted done. if I would have known my options were to to either pay their ridiculous quote or pay $99 I would have never had them come out in the first place. DON'T use Pardee!!! They are a NIGHTMARE!!! I was stuck with them for 10 years because of a warrantee situation. They lie and cheat and sell you stuff for LITERALLY 2x the going rate! Yep, one time I caught them trying to sell ANOTHER thing that sounded sketchy so I ended up talking to the regional manager for their supplier for the item. He quoted me the going pricing for the service and, not surprisingly at all, it turned out that Pardee was literally charging TWICE the high end of the recommended rate! They were constantly trying to sell me things I didn't need. One time in February they told me "it was time" to replace two $200 lights in my system that are recommended to be replaced every 2 years. By then I knew how much they lied so I asked when they had actually been installed. Turns out they weren't due until the next July and September so they were telling me I needed them 5 months early for one and 7 months early for the other! Unbelievable but COMPLETELY typical. I literally caught them lying to me over 10 times! One time they told me I needed a $1800 replacement which ended up needing a $10 part and a 10 minute fix! I know it's incredibly hard to believe but I am not exaggerating at all! Use them at your own risk! read more

I give the service tech five star came out did the work knew what he was supposed to be doing in and out of the house quickly. The service people they have calling customers give them a one-star. Schedule appointment between 9 and 10 today call at 930 day of appintment tells me parts aren't here and it could be another hour before they can show up. Tell her I can't stay here all day because I have to do stuff for my mother's funeral arrangements and she gets an attitude. Well, I'm calling you to let you know. And basically tells going to have a great day. Make sure you have your parts and everything ready to do the job and be on time. Do not hope parts in truck. This is second repair done and both time had to wait on part and appointment was late. Ans once parts arrive I it will be another 2 hours before they show up to do work. Nope very pleased with Pardee. And now they kicking me out of the annual service plan for my a.c. unit because it costing money to repair and want me to get some plan thatvgives me 15% off parts and discount labor instead of free parts and labor which is what I had. No problem taking money as long as it not cost them. I get that a.c. unit getting older that why had insurance to cover stuff as it got older and now just change plan to make more money off me. I have to keep plan on newer a.c. unit from them because had 2 years and have called them 3 times to fix and can afford to not have covered as much as it breaks down. So, stuck paying until they drop me on this one too. Start looking for better a.c. service in Lowcounrty. read more

Warning!!! Avoid these people at all costs!! - Seriously damaged two garage doors and failed to tell anyone about it. - turned security lights off that they were instructed to leave on. - Trashed bathroom and left it for us to find upon our return. - Failed to heed their own technician's warning not to install two systems on one undersized circuit. - Two weeks after the installation, The new mini-split system power supply shorted out, tripping the breaker that was also feeding the other new system, leaving two thirds of our house without heat during freezing weather. - Do not maintain any normal sort of spare parts inventory on hand. - Failed to order replacement power supply in a timely matter, then repeatedly lied about ordering it and repeatedly promising to install it day after day, when it had not even been ordered. - after numerous calls, the service manager provided a false tracking number that wasn't for any legitimate carrier. - When Office secretary called to schedule repair, I asked when the part had arrived, she explained it had just come in that morning, as she was the one who signed for it. When I questioned the general manager about this, he started yelling at her with me on the phone, saying she was lying, attempting to cover up it taking two weeks to get The part ordered, shipped, and get our system repaired. Last Fall, in a cold snap emergency, we called Pardee because their sticker was on two dead mini-splits. In addition to replacing the dead systems. we caved to a high pressure sales pitch (they sell financing on commission), agreeing to replace an additional older heat pump that was working just fine. Because we were out of town, we trustingly made arrangements for them to access our home without us on-site (MAJOR MISTAKE!!). I told the salesman not to let their techs attempt to open the garage, as they were bolted shut, and there was a passage door they could use to install the new equipment. Their technicians damaged not one, but two garage door systems and failed to tell us, leaving cold air entering our garage(running up the electric bill). The icing on the cake was one of the same techs blasted out his burrito into our commode, and leaving the mess for us to clean up. While they did pay for the door damage to be repaired, no offer to get the mess in our bathroom cleaned up was made. Guess its okay in their book to literally crap on the customer. This company has a culture of stories and mis-truths, no accountability by staff, no oversight by management, and obvious poor internal communication. And they have the audacity to call themselves "service experts". read more

Most of my experiences have been positive. I have had a few "bad" techs over the years, but once I figured out the "good" ones, I request only them. One has since left the company, but since then Joe Steen has been my tech for routine maintenance. He seems to be knowledgeable and thorough, is intelligent, courteous, and tells me what he sees so we can discuss options. A few months ago I had to call for emergency service and the man came out late at night and found that the capacitor had failed, but which he had in the truck. I was able to sleep comfortably as the air began to cool again. read more

When are unit had problems they came the same day we called and our new unit was put in the next day when we found out our old unit was broken. The entire team from the technician(Lindell), the consultant(Shaun Shaw) who sold us the unit and the team that installed(Malcolm and Damion) the unit were polite, professional and respected our home. Generally, Ive good experience with Pardee. However, my AC unit recently was making a knocking noise. They suggested a $600 fan motor. When the installer came out, I pointed out the sound and said that was what needs to stop with the fan replacement. Come home that night and the AC unit is making the same sound. Called them back, another tech came out and said all it needed was a fan blade. $70 part. Everything is fixed. However, I paid $600 for a fan motor I didn't need and the service manager has not returned a phone call to discuss it. Its one thing to say we made a mistake but its absolutely unprofessional to not even return a phone call. Personally, I will not do business with this company any more read more

Then moved it to a time I could not be home (5 hours after the original appointment). Pardee is just awful. They over schedule their technicians and then don't show up. read more

Be prepared to open your wallet all the way!!!! Called for an estimate after a friend recommended. Boy, will I talk to my friend because they are apparently much wealthier than I thought if they can afford this company! The estimate for new duct work for a 1000 square foot house was $8795. However, they did tell me I was entitled to a discount of $1,475 off that price, but I don't know why - this brings the total price to $7,320. I told the gentleman that this estimate was much higher than all of the others I had received and he said his company was not a "Mom & Pop" company and that they would be around for the next 100 years. I called very reputable companies that had been in business for sometime so that explanation of such a high estimate doesn't make sense. Just want everyone to know the estimate I received was over $2,000 higher than the next highest bidder and for absolutely no reason! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I had the option of "Zero Stars" but I don't, so unfortunately Pardee Service "Experts" gets one. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. One month after coming to our home June 20 and charging us $698 to pump freon and find, but not actually fix a leak, our AC unit still is not fixed. And it's Charleston. In July. The reason: they REFUSE to speak to our insurance company. When the GM MARK HOAGLEY (Hodely? Does it really matter at this point? He's a faceless man that may or may not exist) finally agreed to talk to our insurance company, who btw, just needs Pardee to verify some information on the invoice, I thought he meant that week. Or even this month. But no, that wasn't the case. After stating on July 1 that he would call our insurance company on July 2, he never did. When I called on July 6, I was told he was on vacation until July 13. Most likely in a place with a working AC unit. I called back on July 15 with an insurance rep on the line, I was told by the receptionist "Uh...no...uh...he's out of the office today, I'm not sure how long." I left a message for the phantom GM w/ a direct line and extension to our insurance rep and practically BEGGED Pardee to call back and help me. They never did. I don't have the $4,000 in my pocket they told us it would cost in parts to fix our AC unit. But guess who does? My insurance company. This company is an absolute waste of time, COMPLETELY unhelpful, WORST customer service of any company I've ever dealt with, and will just provide lip service to make you shut up and go away. Pardee Service Experts has been servicing my condo HVAC unit for many years. I have the twice a year preventative maintenance agreement; my 12+ year old unit still runs well with only minor part replacements over time. There was a fire recently in the unit above my condo and I also sustained some fire and smoke damage. No one was injured! Pardee Service Experts came and throughly inspected my unit after the fire.
