We purchased a used vehicle from them. While the initial experience was good when we arrived there were some closing concerns. The salesman was friendly and answered all my girlfriends question effectively as well as the finance person. However upon inspecting the vehicle after they washed and got it ready for us we noticed a dent in the read bumper that was clearly a dent and not a scratch. We had brought up that if we would have know about the dent we would have negotiated a better price . The CARFAX clearly stated no damage and no accidents, and the salesperson even pointed to that during the sit down. At this point they were were pushing what a great deal the purchase price was, however, that is not the point. "No accidents and no damage," as indicated by Serramonte Ford and Carfax. He told us he needed to discuss with Service Manager and he would get back to us on that Monday. We are still waiting for that reply. We even texted and still no follow up. Even if there was no damage to the vehicle, a good dealer would have followed up just to see how things were with the car. I have purchased vehicles from many dealers in the past and mostly everyone has followed up within a few days to ask how things are. Due to lack of response about the dent and just simple follow up, is the reason for the "Average" review. Ford at Serramonte is a SCAM, WATCH OUT. I purchased a Ford from them that has experienced a multitude of issues. It was supposedly brand new. Not even a year of driving it and my car started breaking down. Bringing it up to them or the mechanics is no use. They do not help fix your issues or provide any sort of compensation. Instead they charge you insane bills with a brand new issue each time. Any other local shop would provide the same with a price half off. They just charge you for no reason or for problems that weren't created by you. Scheduling appointments is impossible and they waste your time upon arrival. My experience from the seller to the repair people was unfortunate. Specifically, named Mo, who had ridiculous customer service, and unprofessionalism. I usually like to be fair in my reviews and try to give the benefit of the doubt, but this dealership just misses the mark. I've been here several times on normal business days--not on holidays and typically not on Saturdays--during which I usually extend businesses the benefit of the doubt. However, nearly every time I visit, I find myself being upsold on something I don't need. You would expect the service department at a dealership to be invested in helping you, but in reality, they seem more focused on selling you something. They're just as bad as the sleazy salespeople on the top floor. If you don't know much about cars, they will likely prey on you and your wallet, using technical jargon and "big words" to make you think you need unnecessary services. Also, having an early appointment means very little. You'll still have to wait in a "queue" with other customers who have been booked at the same time. My hunch is that this "appointment" system is rather misleading. They should set clear expectations and Service Level Agreements before making you wait in a waiting room with mediocre amenities. The Wi-Fi might as well be called TurtleNet because it's just as slow as their service lmao. By the way, they do offer a Lyft service if you can't pick up your car or need a ride home; however, they don't advertise it because they likely don't want you to use it. It also isn't available on weekends or when they "don't have drivers." Serramonte -- fix your incentives; you weaken the Ford brand, and you're losing revenue-generating customers who will likely choose to go to another, better-operated Ford dealership. read more

Am I... a Ford girlie now? After an incredible experience with Diego, Hamza, and Jhay over the past few weeks, I can genuinely say that Ford Serramonte is a dealership you'll want to revisit. They're honest, straightforward, and completely stress-free to work with--long story ahead! Back in 2020, I bought a new Tacoma, which I later traded in at Ford Serramonte in 2022 for a brand new Explorer. Daniella helped me with that purchase, and her enthusiasm made the experience unforgettable! I had originally wanted a Mach-E, but at the time, the markup was $10k-$15k, so I opted for the Explorer. That purchase was also special to me since it was my first time buying a car solo, with out my parents guided help. Fast forward to 2024--my worker needed a car with a tight budget. We found one on Serramonte Ford's website and reached out. Diego answered and fielded a ton of questions from us (some a bit silly!), all without a hint of frustration. His patience was such a breath of fresh air, especially compared to my 2020 Tacoma experience, where I felt like the salesperson was annoyed with me. My worker and I left incredibly happy that day. While being at the dealership I couldn't help my wandering eyes. I was a little interested in upgrading to a 2024 Explorer since I loved my explorer so much. I did some browsing online that week and the Mach E was still on my mind. I called Diego and asked for some information. He let me know all the incentive's they have going on and sent me a few they had on the lot. Never once did I feel pressured, rushed or misheard with Diego which made for a really memorable & positive car buying experience. I ended up choosing to lease this time since the incentives were too good to pass up, and it aligned better with my habit of swapping cars every couple of years. This is where Jhay, the sales manager had stepped in for some negotiating. I had seen a different number online vs what was going on in store. He didn't have to honor it but a kind & honest dealership would right? Well that's exactly what they did! After going back and forth with numbers, Jhay came back with a smile on his face each time and after the like 8th time we had a deal!!! After signing, I was passed onto the finance guy, Hamza, who had already helped me with my worker's car the week before. I was really happy he was the one helping me out personally the following week. Hamza is knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely focused on the customer's needs! He's most definitely on your side. I left feeling well taken care of. It's rare to find a place where I feel as supported as I did here. Now, I finally have my own "car guys"--my parents and friends always talk about having one, and I get it now. I'm so Ford-Pro now that I'm even encouraging my parents to switch, probably more aggressively than a sales person at Ford. Overall, my experience with the sales team was a solid 10/10, A++. On the service side - Ask for Mo, your car will be in great hands. I had after-market leather installed in my Explorer a few years back, which caused a rattle noise in the back of the car when I got it back. They were busy, but Mo scheduled me in with clear expectations about timing. A few weeks later, I got my car back, rattle-free and happy! A few weeks ago I was having an issue with putting my car in reverse. I called Mo and he scheduled me to drop my car off. Again, he told me they are extremely backed up and my appointment would be about 3 weeks away and after I dropped my car off in 3 weeks it would still take about another 2 weeks to get back. I see no problem with this. I again appreciate the upfront and clear honesty. I said no problem and ended up booking a car for 2 weeks through Expedia to cover myself while my car was being worked on. I appreciated the clarity and honesty. They never overpromise, and I respect that. A lot of people in these reviews seem to expect instant service, but my advice? Be patient. If you can't wait, maybe try a small shop and pay extra since your time is more valuable than others. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Serramonte Ford. Had a disappointing experience here the other day. We came in to test drive two vehicles and I'd like to think my partner and I were pretty clear about our situation. Our car had been declared a total loss not even 48 hours before our visit and we wanted to check out these two cars to see if we'd be interested in making a purchase but we were not ready to walk out the door with a new car that day. The sales associate helping us was fine throughout the test drive--made polite conversation and was able to give us basic information about the vehicle. At the end of the test drive, he asks if we wanted to go back to the sales office to talk numbers. We politely declined, letting him know we weren't quite at that stage in our car shopping process but asked him for a business card so we could follow up with him. Well, he didn't have a business card on him and asked us to come back to the office so he could get one. At this point, we were the at the furthest point in the lot we could possibly be from the office which that was the opposite direction we needed to go, so we declined again and mentioned we'd try to get in touch with him if we were interested. He started to get visibly upset with us after this asking what the goal of our visit was and if we just came here to "kick tires." He then sarcastically thanked us for wasting his time while walking away. Completely unprofessional and rude. If you feel doing your job is a waste of time, maybe you should find a different profession. Also, rule #1 of doing business--always have your card on you! UPDATE: Confirmed this dealership is inept and corrupt. They charged me $2000 to diagnose my sunroof issue only to tell me the part was unavailable on back order with no ETA on delivery. Told me when the part arrived it would cost $1500 in labor and $4500 for the entire sunroof assembly. Took my car to another Ford dealer who said not only have the parts always been available but that the entire sunroof assembly does not need replacing. Only the motor needs to be replaced l. And the cost for the diagnostic, parts and labor is $500 less than Serramonte charged me just to tell me they couldn't get the part. Criminal behavior. read more

Updated from 2 stars to 1. Once again, my Ford valet appointment was missed--with no communication or follow-up. I called several times and left voicemails, including at the number provided above by the Ford representative, but received no response. I was eventually told that the person responsible for my appointment was out of the office that day. When I asked why someone else couldn't take over their appointments, I was told it was because I booked "day-of"--despite the fact that I had scheduled several days in advance. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they'd send an email and have someone call me. That call never came. What I did receive was a voicemail at 6pm on a Saturday asking if I wanted to upgrade to a new Ford from Serramonte. These guys are either idiots, or frauds. They quoted me $4,400 to fix an issue. I tried having a conversation with them about what other troubleshooting they did before deciding this work needed to be done to make sure I had all my bases covered before agreeing to spend that much. In addition, what they were saying was wrong with the car didn't actually make sense: they were essentially saying that two actuators went out at the same exact time, which seemed nearly impossible. The rep, Jared, would not engage, so I just picked up my car thinking I would do the easy troubleshooting myself, before agreeing to pay that kind of money. When I picked up my car, the heater was working fine. So 1) they are idiots and don't understand the inner workings of the car; 2) they didn't know they fixed the problem; or 3) they were hoping I would spend $4,400 no questions asked. Either way, They are not getting my business, and they should not get yours. read more

I had a pretty good experience here. I had ordered a brand new car for MSRP and they honored it and didn't even ask for a down payment. I did have to wait about a year for a new 2023 Ford Maverick; they were helpful and even picked me up at the bart station. I didn't buy any extras or extended warranties but I know what I want and go what I wanted. The staff was over very friendly and easy going. They have coffee for people to drink and clean restrooms. I was in and out in a bit over an hour with everything. I even did get a call to check in on me after I bought my Truck asking if everything is ok Only time will tell but overall I was pretty happy with the way I treated here. read more

I can't stand these guys. Every single time I come in for service I have to wait super long even though I made an appointment. Then the advisor assures me they will call me back when it happens. I've used Seremonte Ford four times now and that has never happened. Advisors are terrible. What's more they took my car for a week and told me there were no rental cars available. Seriously? I had to find one on my own and deal with their reimbursement process. 4 weeks in and I still haven't been paid back. It's just a constant with Seremonte Ford. Expect to be ignored. These guys do not care. I recommend going elsewhere unless you like spending hours trying to reach your advisor. Tracy Ford has always treated me extremely well, for example. I've used dealerships near Fremont and had similarly good experiences. If you do end up using Seremonte Ford, first off sorry, and secondly don't be afraid to call Ford corporate. I've found it very helpful when struggling to get the time of day from their service advisors. I purchased a 2017 Ford Escape from this dealership. I did not drive it on the freeway, and that was my mistake. On going back home, I live about 100 miles north of SF, I noticed the car felt like it was slipping on patches of ice. The next couple of days I was sick, but when I felt better, I contacted my mechanic. He drove it and said it felt like the transmission was slipping. I called Serramonte Ford and they said to bring it in on Monday. Over the weekend, I was almost in an accident, because the transmission would not work. I was not going to drive back down to SF and take the chance of getting stranded. I got rid of the car. I called the dealership and told them there was NO WAY they would not have known about the tranny problem, and I asked them to for a partial refund. They basically blew me off. However the dealership/sales person was not transparent with us about many things - 1) we didn't realize they only had one key on the car until we already completed paperwork. He gave us the key as we were leaving. When I asked for the second one, he said there was only one. It cost me 800 dollars to get another key from Audi dealership. If I had known, I would have totally asked them to cover the cost of the key! Buyers please be aware of the crazy costs of keys today. 2) The car had mats in the trunk and one was missing! What the heck. Count the mats, too. They were stacked so we made assumptions. 3) heavily perfumed to hide musty odors. We had to totally detail the car again. I spent at least another 1500. They won't tell you anything unless you explicitly ask - true salesman, care only about the ONE sale and not return customer/loyalty. Serramonte Ford is terrible and a potentially fraudulent. Having been a long time customer (over 5 years), I've finally had enough. I brought in my 2014 Ford Focus because of transmission problems. I told the team it was most likely the Transmission Control Module (which was still under warranty). After 2 weeks of "tests" they told me the problem was the clutch which needed to be replaced for $3000. Hesitantly I decided to move forward with the new clutch. ONE WEEK LATER my car broke down again with the same transmission problems. I had my car towed back to Ford so they could make this right. After some more "test" it turned out the problem was in fact the Transmission Control Module... They replaced the TCM since it was still under warranty but it took 6 weeks. Overall it took 2 months, $3000, and minimal updates from the Ford team to get my car back in decent shape. I'm seriously considering legal action based on this experience. Ford never offered a rental during the 2 MONTHS without a car, never offered a discount or money back on the new clutch, they never updated me on my car's status (I had to call them every time), and they wouldn't event give me a ride to the BART station (a service they used to offer) when I dropped off my car both times. Take your car and money anywhere else. Don't be scammed like I was, and don't give Serramonte Ford your time or money. read more
