One of the best dog parks in the greater Vancouver area…read more Looking for a place for your best bud to run, chase balls, sniff around, meet various other dogs and humans, catch frisbees, and swim? How about fabulous views of the Fraser river, bald eagles, seals, ducks, herons, Mount Baker, ships, freighters, ferries, tugs, and beautiful sunrises/sunsets? We love this place and have been regulars for the better part of three years. People are friendly, and the park itself is pretty clean, very easy to get to...just take No. 3 Road south all the way to the end and park in the lots. It's completely what you make of it. It can be a quick/quaint 15-30 minute visit, with up to 500m (1km return) of trails on beautiful waterfront off leash space up until the Crown Packaging plant. The plant is easily and decently detoured with an on-leash path that overlooks local farms and the north shore mountains. In addition to the pleasant view, the walk around the plant is worth it because you can find several hundred metres of waterfront trails and additional opportunities to enjoy everything mentioned in the beginning. It can be a 40-60 minute walk including a 15-25 minutes on-leash jaunt (almost 1km) around the packaging plant. If you want more trail coverage, you can venture along the South Dyke trail westward to Steveston and back, an additional 6-10km return trip (depending on how much you explore the historic village) on an unpaved separated path. You can also head eastward towards No. 5 Road for 4.5km return trip, mostly along Dyke Road, but there is some separated unpaved path for a few hundred metres. These additional trails are all on-leash, by the way. Only the two areas east and west of the Crown Packaging plant are off-leash. South Dyke Off-Leash park has a water fountain for both dogs and humans in the west area near No. 3 Road, lots of benches along the way to stop and admire the views, and plenty of trash cans and zero excuses not to use them. It's a great park. Some tips to ensure enjoyment include; 1. There are free bags at the trail marker at the No.3 Road/Dyke Road parking lot. Lots of garbage bins. Please use them. I'd say 98% of visitors already do. 2. Be very mindful of the river conditions before allowing dogs to swim. 3. Be aware of fast bikes. Off-leash areas have separate paths, but dogs wander. On-leash paths can have a fair bit of traffic. 4. Be aware of predators - bald eagles and coyotes, especially in the early morning.

I really enjoy the trail here, it's pretty much a continuation of the trail from the west dyke. It…read moreis mostly gravel and goes thru the dog park. Again, nice scenery along the river with lots of walkers, cyclists, dog walkers etc. It's a nice ride or walk....

Posting a bit of an update to address a few complaints:…read more 1. There is now a lovely handicap accessible porta potty complete with pave stone pathway immediately to the right of the entry for the large dog area. 2. Yes, a few folks do sit in their vehicles while their dog is in the park. At least a couple of these people have health issues and cannot be with their dogs the entire time. We are a small community. We look out for each other. Please be understanding that sometimes there is more to the story than what you see. 3. I see more tourists not pick up after their dogs than residents. And let's face it, sometimes it's easy to be distracted speaking with friends, playing with other dogs, or engaging with visitors. If you find yourself at the park during a lull, there are several scoopers available. Grab a scooper, take a walk, and log some karma points. The smaller scooper is easier to dump into the bagged trashcans than the larger one (which requires a bit more talent). Or if you see a nearby singular poop that got missed, pick it up with a poop bag. We have a fantastic resource here. Cherish it. Take care of it, even if you are just visiting, And remember, with a little TLC m maybe we can hold onto this little doggie paradise for a long time.

Dogwood Dog Park is one of my top favourites for off-leash dog parks…read more This dog park has a huge parking lot for plenty of room for your car and your doggo. There is an optional smaller dog area that is fenced in if your pupper needs a smaller area to play. Otherwise there is a huge grassy to play and a small water area under a foot bridge. But the highlight for this park is the forested area with varying paths lined with tall trees and lush grounds. Such beautiful forested paths to walk with your dog off-leash - it really feels like you're taken somewhere out of city being within the trees. A very easy off-leash park to get to for a quick getsway with your furry friend. A majority of the time we have meet friendly dogs and owners. Doggy poop bags and a garbage can are present.

Located in north delta n close to surrey its a great venue shaded on hot summer days but little extra cold in winters. Its mushy and all natural terrain make it apear like a blanket of grass all green. Tall trees present a sight to think about ife. Its beautiful looking up in between the trees. Good picture shot. There are almost 10-15 or maybe more varying length and difficulties of trails. Infact there are humps for bikers who like muddy and steep trails up. I would say rain would make some parts of the park to appear like a small lakesand bringing your little toddlers on this trail might not be a good idea. ( even in trolleys) Fresh air and forest smell took my breath away plus i had a good calorie burn. I did get lost though as all look so same plus its big to complete the whole round of the park.

It was drizzling when we came here for a walk/hike. The ground was a bit muddy but not too bad…read more There were many trails to explore and we only did the Pinewood and part of the Lower trail. We didn't loop into the Canyon due to the light drizzle and muddy conditions. We got to the drinking station and water tower before heading back. Another reason to cut short the walk was the lack of washroom facilities in the park. The trails were popular and we saw many people here with their dogs or mountain biking. Parking is along the road, with several different entrances into the park.
