I went hiking to Cypress falls. I have to say one of the most enjoyable and breath taking in all of Vancouver. It was an easy trail. For people who are starting up again with an exercise routine, you would love it. Its a magical rainforest setting complete with waterfalls and wooden bridges. An escape from reality and definitely worthwhile to see. It is a dog off leash trail for anyone who has a dog.

Lots of woods, big rocks and things to see. Stay on the trail or do a little off trail exploring.

Review Highlights - Cypress Falls Park

My husband purchased a hiking book for me and I started with Cypress Falls which was a great choice because it was an easy trail for a novice hiker like me.

There is now a lovely handicap accessible porta potty complete with pave stone pathway immediately to the right of the entry for the large dog area. 2. Yes, a few folks do sit in their vehicles while their dog is in the park. At least a couple of these people have health issues and cannot be with their dogs the entire time. We are a small community. We look out for each other. Please be understanding that sometimes there is more to the story than what you see. 3. I see more tourists not pick up after their dogs than residents. And let's face it, sometimes it's easy to be distracted speaking with friends, playing with other dogs, or engaging with visitors. If you find yourself at the park during a lull, there are several scoopers available. Grab a scooper, take a walk, and log some karma points. The smaller scooper is easier to dump into the bagged trashcans than the larger one (which requires a bit more talent). Or if you see a nearby singular poop that got missed, pick it up with a poop bag. We have a fantastic resource here. Cherish it. Take care of it, even if you are just visiting, And remember, with a little TLC m maybe we can hold onto this little doggie paradise for a long time.

To start, of all the dog parks i've been to since i've moved here, the people by far are the nicest. they spend a lot of time with their dogs and there are a lot of families here, which is really nice to see. Located just north (i believe) of the airport, there is a large parking lot and a short walk to the beach. there is a path going to the end (which we didn't get to) and while there is a lot of big rock separately the river from the beach, there are substantial cleared areas so the dogs have easy access to the water in several places. As it was so hot there were a lot of dogs in the water - however there was a fairly strong current so i wouldn't advise encouraging your dog to fetch unless they are good swimmers. I met a lovely lady when i first arrived who gave me a layout of the land. she said if i walked there during low tide there was a great area towards the end of the park (you could tell it was the end because there was a pirate sign) where we could walk out quite a ways. will look forward to spending more time there when the weather is a bit cooler!
