There is an optional smaller dog area that is fenced in if your pupper needs a smaller area to play. Otherwise there is a huge grassy to play and a small water area under a foot bridge. But the highlight for this park is the forested area with varying paths lined with tall trees and lush grounds. Such beautiful forested paths to walk with your dog off-leash - it really feels like you're taken somewhere out of city being within the trees. A very easy off-leash park to get to for a quick getsway with your furry friend. A majority of the time we have meet friendly dogs and owners. Doggy poop bags and a garbage can are present.

The big side is only muddy at the edges. Quite a popular park so there are many dogs. Just keep and eye out on your own dog and make sure to watch out for aggressive signs in other dogs.

The area is decent sized, and even has a separate "small dog" fenced area within the big dog area. It's nothing fancy, and has lots of holes dug up by other dogs over the years. But if you are looking for a fenced in area to let your pup run around, it's great for that !

There is now a lovely handicap accessible porta potty complete with pave stone pathway immediately to the right of the entry for the large dog area. 2. Yes, a few folks do sit in their vehicles while their dog is in the park. At least a couple of these people have health issues and cannot be with their dogs the entire time. We are a small community. We look out for each other. Please be understanding that sometimes there is more to the story than what you see. 3. I see more tourists not pick up after their dogs than residents. And let's face it, sometimes it's easy to be distracted speaking with friends, playing with other dogs, or engaging with visitors. If you find yourself at the park during a lull, there are several scoopers available. Grab a scooper, take a walk, and log some karma points. The smaller scooper is easier to dump into the bagged trashcans than the larger one (which requires a bit more talent). Or if you see a nearby singular poop that got missed, pick it up with a poop bag. We have a fantastic resource here. Cherish it. Take care of it, even if you are just visiting, And remember, with a little TLC m maybe we can hold onto this little doggie paradise for a long time.

The regulator man across the street who runs the RV park will come shut the dog park gates before dusk if he feels like it, and kick everyone out. An hour before dusk, and he was yelling for us to leave.

Crescent Park - What a great overall park!…read more Lots of perks here: Two entrances on either side of the park with large parking lots. A huge field for lots of activities and a separate large field dedicated for sports. Huge, long wooden picnic tables with a roof to shield you from rain or sun. Some smaller picnic tables scattered throughout the park. Plenty of benches to sit scattered around the park. A pond with plenty of ducks. A large playground. Plenty kms of paved paths to walk throughout. Dogs allowed on leash. The forested path is a highlight, lots of great trees and lush forested grounds to make you feel like you're somewhere else and not in the city. Also, really close to Crescent Beach and Blackie Spit Park. Overall, a favourite new park of mine! I visited during December, so I can definitely see this place being very busy in the warmer months but still a great park!

This past year they renovated the big dog area so it has a lot better drainage than in the past. Both areas have covered seating for people to stay dry while your pups play in the rain. Along with the dog area, they also provide a huge field with two baseball diamonds that are mostly open use for the community. A paved path winds along the entire park perfect for running or walking with a stroller or young children. This park is kept clean and it's patrons are a good community minded group you will recognize within a few times of being here.

This little beach off the beaten path is a local gem. If you're from Alberta, think White Rock =…read moreBanff, Crescent Beach = Jasper. If you're not from Alberta, that analogy might not resonate with you. Crescent beach is like a locals only type of beach. There's a volleyball area, a Sandy cove for swimming, public restrooms, and a long walkway along the beach you can walk on. There are benches, logs and giant rocks for sitting and sun bathing or to just enjoy the sound of the water. I grabbed sushi from nearby sushi spot Hanaya Japanese restaurant and got their lunch special. Took my food "to-go" and headed on down to Crescent beach. There is free parking along residential streets but you can also park close to the public washrooms area next to the Crescent Beach swimming club (which is for members only). Although there are not many food or drink places on the beach, there is a little sail boat place where you can book a tour on a sailboat and head out onto the water. There is a dock for fishing too and the water is super clean. Lifeguards are also on patrol at this beach which is an amazing safety feature to have as well. I would definitely recommend this beach if you want something a little more low key, a little quieter, somewhere to meditate perhaps or have a nice lunch.
