This is one of my favorite beaches, it's not usually really crowded like Kits or 3rd Beach unless it's a long weekend or a holiday. They have a decent size parking lot but I always bike here. There are also lots of bunnies hanging around. They also have I believe paddle boarding here where you can rent boards stuff. Overall I would say one of Vancitys best beaches.... read more

This beach was so much better than Kitsilano and Third Beach because it wasn't crowded and felt much cleaner. Parking was easy (either on the street or there is paid parking) and it was so nice to relax and not worry about the crowd. I'd highly recommend coming here. read more

I like this beach. Its near my home. Best of all in the summer time you can picnic here with a bunch of friends. Even play volleyball if you like. Parking is free but can be limited and you really have to hunt for it. Came here recently at night to play Pokemon Go with S and we caught a lot of Charmander. So Happy. read more

If you get tired of the crowds at Kit's beach, it's not too far to walk West over to Jericho beach. It's a pretty walk, partially along the seawall, then along Point Grey Road, where there are some very beautiful homes. If the tide is low, you can even walk along the beach to get there - but it's slippery in points so watch your step! The actual beach is more family-oriented than Kits Beach. There are lots of people out for the day picnicking and playing beach sports. There's also a fair sized park at Jericho and a nice path through it for walkers, joggers or bikers. The view is really beautiful, as you look across to the North Shore Mountains. read more

This is the crown jewel of the city I live in and part of every citizen that grew up here. Every tourist should come here and walk or bike to the end (technically Spanish Banks). This is one of my favourite places on earth. Host to the Folkfest, something about this place almost erases the negative aspects of Vancouver that have developed over recent years with the onslaught of rich douchery-doos (Kits beach cannot make the same claim). There is no end to the things you can do here in summer and winter: -walking -cycling -kayak rental -eating on the patio of the galley overlooking an amazing view -folkfest -excellent BBQ options and special tables - the list goes on This is a park that citizens use and live in. One note, cyclists and pedestrian share this path but fast cyclists tend to ride the parallel road, Do not expect to break landspeed records, dog owners here tend to string their 15 foot leashes across the shared us trail for cyclists and elderly walkers alike, Also, where the paths do separate (more near Spanish banks dog park,.. I think the city should have reversed which side was which. Pedestrians not only ignore the signage but choose way more than 50% to walk on the bike side (I count every time I go because it is almost comical), I think this is because they wanty to be near where their dog is playing. read more

Took a bus there. It has a large grassy area (with shade), a concession and washrooms. The beach is of medium size with fine sand. Do I hear picnic? There are logs strategically placed on the sand so you can park yourself on one or beside one. I walked in the water and it had a good sandy bottom but the beach is not long enough for a long walk. Water was a little silty. Nice views of the mountains. Nicest thing is that it is a little out of the downtown city hence not very crowded. Great place to relax. Two thumbs up! If you want action go to Kitsilano beach which was absolutely packed, even has a large pool, amphitheater, a lot of beach volleyball, etc. Funny thing I saw adjacent Kitsilano is they have an off leash beach just for dogs... weird...but I guess that's a city slicker thing...as i wouldn't let my beach go to the dogs ;) read more

Jericho is a starter beach -- an entry point to the whole fantastic Point Grey Foreshore that stretches right out to UBC. It's a good spot for families because it lies close to a good size parking area, has a canteen, bathrooms, and a large area for picnics. For this same reason, I prefer to keep on biking further west. In the immediate proximity of the east end of Jericho Beach, the the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, the swanky Jericho Tennis Club, and Brock House Seniors Center really crowd the sandy area. Head instead to the west end of Jericho, which offers a fun vantage of the sailing club. Plus in the grass area you can easily spot bunny rabbits and there are heavily laden blackberry bushes in September. Oh, and the bunnies really like the black berries. One of the speckled rabbits quickly became our best friend after we gave him one of the berries. read more

My favorite Vancouver swimming spot! It's quite busy in summer, but cleaner, and less cluttered and crowded than Kits and English Bay. Where as neighboring Locarno Beach has a long shallow drop off which means you have to go a long way out to actually swim, the cove of Jericho Beach gets deep quickly, so you don't have to go more than a couple meters to actually swim. The water is, well, the northern Pacific. Warm enough during the peak of summer, but we're not talking Miami: temperatures vary from brisk to Polar Bear. During the summer, water temperatures are posted daily on a chalkboard beside the concession stand. it's quite well tended: there are life-guards in July and August, a concession stand, and a set of change rooms. (Note: the bathroom is open all season, but the change rooms are only open when schools out during the summer. Something to keep in mind if an early-September heat wave is tempting you into the water.) read more

Jericho is one of my favorite beaches in Vancouver, because it tends to be more quiet and less busy than others. I think it's more of a dog-walking beach, because it's mainly dog-walkers I see when I come here. There's a small pond where you can watch ducks swim and play, or the dogs chase after them. With all the ducks and the pooches, it's best to watch where you're stepping, if you know what I mean, but other than that this is a great place to relax and take in another great view of the city, and just breathe in the salty beach air. I doubt I've covered most of the beach, as I just like to stay in one area, sit on a beach log and read or write. There's a small snack bar off to one side, near the duck pond, with washrooms nearby as well. Consider Jericho if you prefer a more quiet beach over busy Kits and English Bay. read more

So many wonderful memories of biking along the path, from summer all through fall. All year-round, Jericho provides a phenomenal view of Stanley Park, West Van, and beyond. In the evening, you can see distant lights at the top of Cypress ski hill, and around October, the mountains get a dusting of snow. Definitely a bustling spot in the summer time! Vancouverites and visitors congregate on the shores, soaking up sun and dipping their toes in the ocean. Take a stroll along the pathway and grab an ice cream at one of the booths. There are sail boats, kayakers, windsurfers, and paddleboarders out on the water especially on clear days. This is one of the best places to watch the sunset either on your own or with company, while sitting on a large driftwood log, feeling sand between your toes. By far one of my fave hang outs in the city! read more

Whether you are watching the north shore mountains in snowy winter day or baking in the sun playing v-ball...I love this part of Point Grey. Jericho is where you begin your run up to UBC, if you are into hills. It's a nice spot for picnics it is close to a good size parking area, the beach canteen, and bathrooms (washrooms, for the Canadian cousins) Old barracks dot the area and is in proximity to the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, and the Jericho Tennis Club. If you don't like the big crowds off of Kits, head down here early...and just kick back. read more

The beach is is gorgeous. There are logs set up so groups of people have a place to sit and enjoy the view. Bathroom and shower offered on the beach too! I wonder how busy this place gets during the summer time! read more

Who knew feeding ducks at Jericho beach could be such fun?! My boyfriend first took me to Jericho in the summer and I fell head over heels. We bought duck pellets at a nearby pet supplies store and strolled through the park to the water fowl hangout. As soon as we through out the first handful of pellets, the onslaught began - ducks, everywhere! Not just ducks either, sneaky crows and few stray 'mine!, mine! mine!' seagulls managed to get there beaks in there. These birds are very good communicators, they nearly instinctively know where to get the grub...or they just learn quickly. Either way, it is a highly entertaining afternoon activity. If ducks aren't your thing, you can hang out at the beach and play volleyball, or have a picnic at one of the many tables set out. We went on a stroll through the park and picked wild blackberries along the path, while enjoying the soft sunlight through the trees. It is truly beautiful here and highly recommended for a day trek. read more

My personal favourite beach in Vancouver. In addition to the beach, there's a large park with lots of grass, a pond, and forested areas. The environmental heterogeneity is mirrored by the demographic heterogeneity, i.e. there's a nice mix of people here. The vibe is friendly and laid back, plus there's not too many bros here. It's close to 4th so access is more convenient than some beaches further west. There's a No Frills and BC Liquor Store a few blocks away in case you need beer or BBQ fixins. read more

Love this beach. Every year UBC has its annual Day of the Longboat race in which I have participated 4 or 5 times. I love it! And the restaurant up there has good burgers! read more

Jericho Beach is where you go if you want a killer view of the North Shore mountains. While it's not too crowded, it is kid city. I prefer Kits Beach, but if you want to do some biking and want a quieter place, Jericho Beach is where it's at. read more

A sunny Saturday during the folk fest, slowly sailing by in my little boat from the Jericho Sailing Association, good way to enjoy Vancouver. Music, a steady breeze, great view of the city and out on the water, that's Jericho Park for me. Of course it often rains during the folk fest so I really enjoy the years it doesn't. read more

One of the most versatile beaches in Kitsilano... Folk Fest during the summer, they just extended the beach all the way over to the sailing club and even landscaped some new walking paths through the forest and along the sea shore. There is a soccer turf and tennis courts 10minutes away depending where you are in the park/beach. Limited free parking but there are tons of spots to lock up a bike! I suggest heading east along the beach to find an area the locals call "Secret Beach"... perfect spot to light up some endo and get a nice view of downtown. read more

This was my first time at Jerico Beach. It's a bit far for me so it isn't my beach of choice, however, was there 'cause of the Vancouver Folk Festival. It was busy, however, not as crowded as the other main beaches which was appreciated. Good layout, places to walk, sit and views to watch the sunset looking downtown in the distance. Less pretentious people as well. The food at the canteen was a rip off, 200% inflation on sub par stand foods. Do yourself a favor and just eat somewhere on W Broadway or W. 4th before going to the beach. Good walk to and from. It took me a long time to get to the train station after 10:00 pm, almost 30 minutes. read more

Jericho beach almost makes me feel like i am in a smaller city.. it's kind of tucked away from Spanish Banks and Kits in it's own little alcove. Situated between 2 sailing clubs it's still a stunning spot to catch some sunshine and go for a dip. What is even more perfect is spending the Folk Fest weekend down there and getting to absorb all that music for FREE! read more

Jericho Beach is situated on the West Side of Vancouver minutes away from Kitsilano and UBC. It is popular during the summer time as there are picnic tables, sailing opportunities such as sailing lessons, and fairly good size pier for fishing and crabbing. Also, there is a large concession stand open during the warmer months. This beach isn't as popular as Kitsilano, but it's nice place just to relax and enjoy a quiet Vancouver day. read more
