She kept cutting shorter and shorter so I kept saying it's getting too short .... to look at the photo Katie said she WOULD NOT finish the cut and I was free to leave. I asked for her license which was not on the wall. She refused to show me. Today I will be reporting her to the State ... So 8 weeks and $80- still no better off ‼ I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this salon.

The pressure used on my hips, thighs, and glute area felt too strong for my stage of recovery, and I left feeling physically uncomfortable afterward. I have had lymphatic massages before, and this experience felt very different. The owner did refund my session after I shared my concerns, which I appreciated. I would still encourage post-op clients to clearly discuss pressure level and experience with surgical recovery before booking. I personally would not return for post-op lymphatic massage, and I would encourage others recovering from surgery to ask detailed questions beforehand.

Hair is one of the most important visual cues we have to inaudibly announce who we are, a sort of set of nonverbal cliff notes, if those are still around. As for finding a good one, I've been through three and after a butcher job and a store closing I've found someone I entrust my furry noggin to and who never fails to go above and beyond. Out of the Blue Salon in Kyle and specifically Mary are the muses of my scalp. The store front is close to the railroad tracks near mainstreet Kyle and in a relatively safe part of town. Walking in, the place is always clean and with a jovial atmosphere. The music ranges from.... "dude, what is that" to "sweet Pink Floyd." The décor is simple yet with a local art flair, demonstrating that these ladies are not only good at their craft but they're real artists at heart. That's important b/c true, soulful artists take pride in their craft and aren't pushing people in and out like the aforementioned fast-food mentality. Mary is a very gifted stylist, exceptional at taking a picture and replicating in real life. As the website indicates they have their number on there to contact them. Mary generally takes a day to get back to me and we have things lined up within two days. Sitting in her chair she's very caring and detail oriented, making sure every nook and cranny is addressed. She's not the fastest but above average and I believe that has more to do with my incessant jabbering and making jokes than her skill. As for the cuts, they're always on the money and when she adds highlights or dyes my hair it's perfect. We even have an ongoing joke when I got my hair colored from somewhere else it wasn't blonde but... we'll that's between us. Finally, she's somewhat of a throwback to old school barber shops. Able to hold an engaging conversation which passes the time with a smile. I can't speak upon all the services provided here but from my experiences I'm extremely satisfied. The place is safe, the prices are fair and the staff is friendly. At Out of the Blue Salon you're not only having your hair styled, but you're making a friend and enjoying the visit. I highly recommend this spot for all of your hair needs.

I made a terrible mistake coming here…read more Really disappointed, especially since there were so many good reviews about this place. I debated on writing this review for days because I felt really bad because they people who worked there were so sweet and really nice. I came in with a Groupon for partial highlights and a haircut. I asked a long bob, a hair style that I always get at other places and show the exact same photos I show to all the haircutters/stylists I visit. The dye job is fine. I really like it, actually. However, the hair cut is a little sloppy and wasn't what I wanted. The front looks decent. She cut it around 2-3 inches shorter than what I wanted... I wanted to be shoulder length but my hair does not reach my shoulders (my hair reached below my armpits at the time). I also told her that my hair gets flat when it's long which is why I wanted to cut it... I'm not sure if this translated into choppy layers, but that is what I got. When she finished my hair, I didn't realize that it wasn't what I wanted. Because she curled it, it was hard for me to see the choppy layers and the uneven haircut. So I thought that it looked good when I looked at it in the mirror at the salon. After I washed it, I was quite surprised and extremely disappointed. I asked my friends and they agreed that it was really choppy and doesn't look that great from behind. I'm a pretty busy person so I don't really have time for a high maintenance hairstyle where I need to straighten and curl it every morning. I also try to stay away from high heat since I used to have really damaged hair. It looks pretty messy when I don't style it so I'm not exactly sure what I'm gonna do. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back. Another reason why I'm disappointed is that I paid $70 for this Groupon. This haircut and dye job is $150 without it which I think is way too expensive for this quality. I've had a $17 haircut that was better than this, sadly. Edit: The owner contacted me (as you can see below). I agreed to have her fix it and she did not respond to my emails or calls. Their customer service and communication is lacking. She said that she would have the receptionist call me but I never received a call. I finally gave up after 2 weeks of trying to contact her and went to another place. Update (12/14/18): I'm not sure why Georgina felt the need to update her response after nearly a year after this incident! I don't even live in Texas anymore. That's how long it's been. Yes we emailed, no she did not try 3 separate dates. She tried ONE DATE AND TIME (a 3 day notice) and I was unable to make it. Even if she did try 3 dates and that didn't work, she still should've tried to contact me. Even if we couldn't find a date that worked for us, she could've offered a refund or a partial refund and I would've been satisfied with that. The fact that she's making these claims and trying to make it look like I'm the one that ignored her is outrageous. Why would I lie? I literally don't benefit in any way because my hair will still a mess and you have my money. I have posted our emails as proof. If she has proof that she DID offer me 3 different dates, I will happily admit that I was wrong. I'm honestly tired of addressing something that happened a year ago. I know you don't want a bad review on your page but this could've been handled better :/

She does great work!
