Twice I've gone in to see Katie $80 lost and wasted. First visit she didn't cut it short enough but another lady had been waiting so I left. Came back two days later to get it fixed but Katie was out for 8 weeks. So today I went back and brought the photo of exactly what I wanted. She kept saying she saw it once and that was enough. She kept cutting shorter and shorter so I kept saying it's getting too short .... to look at the photo Katie said she WOULD NOT finish the cut and I was free to leave. I asked for her license which was not on the wall. She refused to show me. Today I will be reporting her to the State ... So 8 weeks and $80- still no better off ‼ I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this salon. read more

I started seeing her back when she worked at a wax chain, and when she made the move to Kyle I knew I had to follow. She's very attention-oriented and knowledgeable--two things you definitely want in an esthetician. She's up on the latest trends, knows how to soothe irritated post-wax skin, and never makes you feel pressured to buy anything you aren't ready to (ladies, you know what I'm talking about!) So I made the big and scary decision to change salons after being unhappy with a past salon one too many times. I called Center Street, made an appointment with Katie that same day for a consultation/haircut. I expressed all of my concerns, talked with her for about 30 minutes, let her cut my hair, and afterwards felt comfortable enough with her to make a follow-up appointment for highlights and root touch-up several weeks later, timed for the day before I was leaving to go out of town for a week. The day before my appointment, midday, I receive a call from the salon letting me know my appointment would not be kept, that Katie was in the hospital and they were unsure of when she would return. They also informed me that they would not be able to reschedule me for another week. Here's my beef: 1. You called THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT to cancel! 2. I find out that they were aware of Katie being out a WEEK BEFORE! 3. This appointment was a big deal! I finally decided to let someone else color my hair, AFTER spending over an hour with her several weeks before 4. I was going out of town for a week, so the lack of notice on your part in letting me know my appointment was cancelled was inconsiderate and unprofessional. 5. You did not make the effort to reschedule me based on my availability, given such a short notice. You lost a potential LONG-TIME client. I get my hair done every 8 weeks. This is part of the reason a local salon in such a small town so close to Austin, where there are plenty of salons, will struggle with it's success. How satisfied are you when a client cancels the day before their appointment? Does that leave you enough time to fill that space?? Probably not. You should have been more considerate in your notice of my cancellation. That would have been the more professional way to handle this, and would have prevented all of this. Secondly, you should have made it right by rescheduling me, if not for the same time as my original appointment, then a time that would have worked for me...NOT a week later! read more

Katie gave me a cut that works best with my hair a few months back and I'm still pleased with the look. I have been searching for a new hair salon for the last few years. I should have looked in Kyle before looking all over Austin. This salon is exactly what I was looking for and Katie is the best stylist I have seen in years. She personally takes care of your needs by listening carefully to you but gently offers suggestions. They never are rushed and they work around your schedule. I almost didn't post this because they are way about other full service salons and very reasonable and I wanted to keep it a secret. read more

I've wasted too many Saturdays waiting hours for Katie. The last two visits finished it for me. Weeks ago I show up for my appointment, she already had three clients waiting around and claimed they had booked themselves and that's how she got over-booked. Last visit she texts me as I'm driving to salon "What happened to you today?" It wasn't even my appointment time yet. Her reply was "Oh I had you down for a different time." Well the reminder I got from the salon matched my information. So I sat and waited 9p minutes. Sadly she is a great stylist and colorist but she is unable to stay on schedule. This is a small, family owned salon. It's perfect. I was moving to the area and desperately needed a hair cut. I stumbled across this little place and thank God. The first time I had my hair cut here, it was by the owner, she is down to earth and did an awesome job. The next time, Demi cut my hair and she ROCKS! Came back a week later and she colored my hair. Courtney is amazing! I had my wedding in Buda but I live in NYC, so planning all of this from afar was very stressful. I received Courtney's name through a family friend's recommendation and it worked out so perfectly. She was able to accommodate my five bridesmaids as well as my husband's mom, all perfectly timed. And everyone's hair looked amazing. I can't tell you how many times my bridesmaids came up to me and told me their hair looked perfect and how happy they were. I got married at Winfield Inn in Kyle and was looking for someone close to do all our hair (me, 4 bridesmaids, and both moms). Winfield recommended Center Street Salon, so I called and talked to Courtney. I had talked to several other people as well, and she, by far, had the best pricing. She was also only 2 minutes away, so it was pretty much perfect!! I did a trial run, bridal portrait session, and day of hair with her and they all were perfect! I was a bit worried because I took in three different pictures of hair I really liked and wanted a fusion of all three. Courtney was able to do exactly what I had in mind. It turned out so much better than I could have ever hoped!!! I told all my bridesmaids they could pick their own style, so some went in with pictures, while others just had some ideas. They all looked amazing!!! I couldn't have asked for anything more. Well, maybe no rain, but I think that was out of Courtney's control! I would recommend her to anyone needing hair done for any occasion. read more
