I was very happy with my hair- got it colored and cut. Unlike some hairdressers, he did exactly as I had asked. My hair had a few different shades in it from a previous coloring, and he was able to fix it, just as he stated before he began working on my hair. Update: I'm told that if a gift card is not redeemed the money needs to be placed in "nj unclaimed funds." I called the establishment informing them of his and was told "what's your point?" and they had no knowledge of this. I am awaiting a return call from the manager and will update. I received a pedicure here. The quality of the pedicure was OK. Fairly comparable to others in the area. My review however, is mostly based on the fact that they would not accept a gift card as payment, stating that it had expired. I've never experienced a store specific gift card expiring, unless the store is no longer in business. It's not a coupon and someone spent money on it. I was disappointed with the overpriced pedicure and eye brow wax. I didn't get the best pedicure but the woman was very nice. I just wanted it to be longer and more in detail. The waxing was fine not horror stories but nothing to recommend. The ladies were very nice but it all felt very over the top for nothing spectacular. read more

This is my go to nail salon. My pedicures last for about 2 months before they chip/crack. And my gel manicure lasts for 3 weeks. That's as long as I wait before the cuticle gets too long and noticeable. The gel could definitely last longer if you have slow growing nails. The only complaint I have is that the promotions offered online are not known by employees in stores. So you just have to show them the website to get the discount price. The BEST facials and worth every dollar. People are always complimenting my skin and I attribute 50% of it to Esther (the other 50% genetics). My face is always glowing after a facial and my breakout sessions get defeated. She also massages your hands and feet when the clay is drying on your face. Again, highly recommend... I trust my face only to Esther. Also, I don't understand some of the ratings... wherever you go, there's a chance of the polish chipping. They use the same quality polish as any other place plus they also have butter london(not many places offer this brand). This is probably the cleanest place you can get your nails done. They open a freshly sterilized set of tools for each person getting a mani/pedi! They have a great selection of Essie and OPI colors, the premises look very clean, and my manicure lasted a long time before chipping. My husband enjoyed his jelli pedicure and they did not charge extra for his being a man, as some other places have done even though he does not get any polish, lol. I've been coming here for years. It started as simple mani-pedi visits, super close to me and affordable. Then I tried an extradition facial with Esther. She really knows her trade. I've heard it said skin says a lot about a person. Esther proves that true. No secrets from her! She knows when I've been eating poorly, stressed or menstruating. When she is away for vacation I've found myself getting a facial elsewhere out of necessity and they all faired poorly to what I get with Esther. Her facials aren't just the face. I needed a mani pedi before vacation. So I made appointment here. I thought I'd try out a new place. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed at all. My gel mani was okay. She pretty much just painted my nail. No real clean up. It was 20 dollar so I guess you pay for. The color was really nice which is the only redeeming point I guess. Next the pedi. I opted for the green tea upgraded one. For 49 dollars. Was not worth it at all. The very next day my toe nail polish chipped. Not cool. So I had to take it off and do one at home. I've been a regular customer of this spa for more than 10 years and I can't recommend this place enough for those of you who reside in Westfield, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and Edison area. Since I'm a guy, I can't really say they do a good manicure, but Serenity Spa offers one of the best quality massage and pedicure. Also, Esther's skin care treatment is out of this world! You wouldn't really see the result in one session, but I guarantee you'll see amazing results in less than 3 regular skin care visits. This spa also offers haircut, so when you are in a pinch, you can always call and ask for a emergency haircut for wedding, party, etc. Very modern and clean spa! read more

I want to like this place but unfortunately this will be the last time I spend my money there. I have had pedicures here in the past and they have always been substandard. I decided to give it another try today because I wanted to stay local and have easy access to parking. However, the pedicure is still substandard. They charge $25 dollars plus I leave a 20% tip which I don't mind doing but it bothers me when the pedicure is sloppy. My nails were not evenly painted and I have nail polish on my skin. This was a definite disappointment. The chair massage was a 2 second rub. To add to the bad experience, the nail technician who did my pedicure complained to me about people walking in right before closing time to get pedicures. I looked at the time and it was 6:00 pm. The salon closes at 7:30 pm. That tells me everything I need to know about this place. I'm never returning. It's a shame they don't train their employees better because everyone is fairly nice and the place is big, clean and has many color selections. read more

Went in for a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was fine however the gel manicure was one of the worst I've gotten. They did not take off all of my previous nail polish, did not trim my cuticles, and did not take the dirt out from underneath my nails. Will not be going again. read more

Not a great experience. I was told there would be about a 15 minute wait for my pedicure, which looked about right - three manicurists each working on someone and one person ahead of me waiting. I waited 45 minutes to be moved to a pedicure chair, then about another 10 minutes until someone started working on me. Then my pedicure was RUSHED - I think maybe less than 20 minutes from start to finish. I really could have done this myself at home if I just wanted my toenails polished (which is really all they did). At least I didn't have an appointment - while i was waiting, about 5 people came in and said they had an appointment at a certain time and were told to sit and wait - they just kept telling everyone "15 minutes". Terrible!!! Don't waste your money. I went here to get a full set of UV gel tips. The girl that did them rushed, two were so crocked they were also very fat and not shaped right. Instead of using white gel like they are suppose to they used white nail polish for the tip of the nail super cheap, you could see right through the white part. I complained and the lady said there was nothing she could do but to come back tomorrow to get it fixed. After paying $80 she gave me no discount or anything. I went back the following day and they only thing the women fixed was the white and just put an extra coat on. After one week four nails lifted and the white chipped everywhere, I had to go somewhere else to get them fixed!! Save your self a headache and money and find another place, staff was not pleasant and rude!!! read more

I am not from the area, I am from Canada and I just was out this way for a week because my husband had a course. I just happened to look up a place near where we were staying to have a spa day to keep myself busy. When I got there I was a little worried as upon entering it doesn't look that classy. But the service was awesome!!! There was a little problem with a language barrier but that didn't bother me at all, they catered to me I got a massage, facial, mani and pedi. I got a very good massage, the facial was awesome, they give great massages on your legs and feet during your pedi, and your arms and hands during your mani. Once I was done they put me under the UV light to dry my nails and there they gave me a nice neck and shoulder massage! It was wonderful. I have never been to a place that tended to you like that. After I was all done they even gave me a pair of flip flops as I wore closed shoes. If I lived near by I would come here often. read more
