This place is a hidden gem! I pulled my back out pretty bad the day before at work, I impulsively booked this the night before. I am so glad I did! You can't beat the price and the quality! Kelly was my masseuse and she did a wonderful job. I was very relaxed and left with my back feeling a lot better. GREAT EXPERIENCE! My sister wanted to book massages for the both of us to celebrate my birthday, as that is something we have always enjoyed together. When we arrived, we were running a little bit late and instead of making us feel rushed, they were kind and calm and made us feel like that was OK and still very welcome. It was fun for me and my sister to enjoy our massage in the same room at the same time. She wanted a Swedish massage and I wanted a deep tissue massage, and they were able to accommodate the both of us! The facility was clean. The staff is very sweet and kind. I love that they offer the essential oils option as well as the hot stone option for no additional charge. If you are looking to have your muscles worked out this is your spot! The massage therapists were very good at giving attention every part of your whole body, while focusing on the area you want, they even massage your face. I set up an appointment for an aromatherapy or essential oil massage online yesterday. Today is a Saturday. I liked the massage, however, it could have been better. She massaged me legs, arms, back, butt, hips, feet, and gave me a scalp massage. I asked for bergamot essential oil, thought it would be calming and not an overwhelming scent. I could not smell it. I did have to keep telling her to be more gentle, at least twice. I'm a little more sensitive to pressure than most people. The ladies there do not speak a lot of English. I did not feel welcomed. The lady was looking at the screen when I was paying, which bothered me a little. My eye makeup ran, might choose to be makeup free next time. It's right next to Kwon Do, so it's not completely quiet massage session. read more

I was out in Tempe running some errands and came across Serenity Massage. I stopped in and found the place pleasant, clean, and inviting. Angela, the manager, warmly greeted me and I requested if I could book a 90-minute Swedish massage for the following day. She informed me that they had an immediate opening if I had the time, which I did. Angela paired me with a masseuse who was very attentive to my health needs as I cannot take too much pressure due to osteoarthritis. During my massage, she frequently asked how the pressure was, etc., which was much appreciated as she didn't once cause me to flinch in pain. The ambient music was pleasant and not obtrusive, and the room was clean and tastefully decorated just as the rest of the establishment. Before I knew it, my 90 minutes was up way too soon! The cost of my 90-minute massage was $100 and I also provided a generous tip to my masseuse (I'm a bit embarrassed as I can't recall her name. Sorry) as she truly deserved it. I live in East Mesa and have an ongoing relationship with another establishment that's very good. However, I'm going to make it a point to schedule a treatment at Serenity Massage every time I come out to Tempe for future errands. I've had plenty of massages in my life and unfortunately, I agree with the lower ratings because my massage was not relaxing nor effective. The couple of ladies that were there were nice, but I'm reviewing solely based on the service I received. My 90 minute deep tissue massage consisted of the same rubbing motion with hands or forearms, no knots were worked on but you could definitely feel digging anywhere you have bones. When it wasn't uncomfortable, it didn't necessarily feel good. They don't know what they are doing with your body. I would have been better off not getting this massage at all! It was $110 and I left a $30 tip because I was prepared to spend that much anyways. I never plan on coming back and you should seek a massage elsewhere. read more

I have never wanted a message to end so quickly. I was in terrible pain and discomfort. The masseuse pulled up my underwear where I felt uncomfortable. The lady never asked if I wanted to focus on a particular area or if I was uncomfortable with any body areas being massaged. Avoid this place at all cost!!!! read more

Do not go here. I left with an injured neck/back. It has been almost a week of terrible pain and no sleep after getting a massage here and becoming injured. I now have to go to the doctors to fix what they did. My fiancé and I went for a Valentine's Day massage in hopes of a relaxing evening. The gal who worked on me caused terrible pain and did not seem to know what she was doing and had zero customer service. The masseuse was bickering with the other one in the room during the entire massage, the door in our room was left open and the front door bell chime kept going off the entire time. It was far from relaxing. We requested a certain massage from their selection and they only wanted to do the massage they preferred. My fiancé was super uncomfortable there and I feel terrible that the evening was ruined. I would've gotten over the non-relaxing part, but this extreme pain and injury they caused is inexcusable. If a massage is not performed correctly it can cause serious injury and they do not seem to have that knowledge or care. In addition, I requested a female masseuse and my fiancé requested a male for personal reasons and they became flustered when we asked them multiple times before the massage started.
