I also let my masseuse know that I had an arm tattoo that is still healing (at 4 weeks post-tat, I still didn't want any oil or rubbing on it) and she was super accommodating to this request! This was surprising, as I've had full-body Swedish massages in 30 minutes before without an issue. Throughout the massage, her attitude seemed off, and she was rough with her technique. Her arms were felt scratchy against my skin, and she kept using her elbows, which hurt. Even after I told her it was uncomfortable, she didn't adjust. Swedish massages are supposed to be soft and relaxing, but this was anything but. She finished early, leaving the room at 11:21, so I didn't even get the full 30 mins I paid for. I got dressed and when she never returned so I went to the front desk at 11:27, only to see her kneeling on the floor casually chatting with the receptionist. I've always booked online and had decent experiences here, but this walk-in appointment was a complete disappointment. It seems like it has many caveats from places that accept it. You can only use it for full-peice services, and you can't book a package of services or seasonal specials. The shop was comfortable and very hippie inside. A bit too many chotchkies for sale inside, but retail is necessary , I realize. The music was a little too crazy and loud for me. Everyone was very nice, and though you can purchase a membership, I loved that it was very low pressure. It actually seems like a good deal that your services can be rolled forward, and can be combined for a larger service. I'm just not a subscription person. I booked an hour massage and a facial. The facial was very thorough and relaxing. The massage was also great, but ended really quickly. When I got dressed and walked to the desk, the gal apologized, as she didn't realize that I had booked an hour. She said I could go back in and get another 30 minutes, but I was already put back together. No thanks. As I checked out, I was also given a cute little facial gift bag, with a nice smelling cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Nice touch. I had a decent service. I'm on the fence about this place. Give it a try though. Better than any local chain.
