The bacon on top is a garnish and it's only $5 for the single which is filling! Great cheesecake and Banana bread! Good breakfast! Came back after getting a chocolate chip cookie yesterday that was AMAZING! Perfect combo of crisp and chewy. Had the croissant breakfast with avocado added. Really good. The maple biscuit sandwich was also good, biscuit a bit dense, but probably necessary to hold the weight of the sandwich. Both came with a little slice of banana bread for dessert. When I found out the little Italian place was gone I was soo sad. But as soon as I stepped foot into this new bakery I was hit with the most amazing scent of cinnamon, fresh bread, and fresh coffee. Obviously they home-make everything and everything is delicious. Their country sourdough, their donuts, cinnamon roll are all fantastic, but their food is outstanding as well! The soups in the winter, the BLT anytime, & the pasta salad as a side, all of it absolutely delicious. There's plenty of seating. The wait time is never long. The staff is always friendly. We chose the covered front patio area to enjoy our breakfast and good coffee. There is also indoor dining. Every baked item that I tried was really good. The almond croissant was my favorite! After a weekend camping trip on the Kern River, we needed a fresh and substantial breakfast before hitting the road again. We chose this spot because it looked like it was gonna check some boxes for our whole family... and boy DID IT!!! We LOVED everything about this sweet little establishment! Of course some mountain lodge/country kitchen ambiance is par-for-the course around here, but these guys are on point with it - their attention to details were fantastic, and I especially enjoyed all the cute plant propagations and fresh sunflowers from the garden, everywhere. The menu has just enough options - not too limited, not too extensive. We got the croissant sandwich and sourdough sandwich. Both were large enough to share, and were ahhmazing.... The croissant was so flaky with perfectly crispy outside and soft/chewy center; while the sourdough sando had great flavor (loved the pepper aioli) and nice bacon. Both dishes came with a bit of their banana bread, which was perfection, both texture and flavor! Then came the pastries counter, OMG... we were in serious trouble here!! It was so hard to decide what to get because everything looked soooo scrumptious! We tried three things and they were each incredible in their own, right. We went with a seasonal danish, which looked more decadent than it was (like, lower on the sweet scale) but we appreciated that because we also had the toffee cinnamon roll, which was the mother of all cinnamon rolls - flaky and crispy edges with slightly gooey center and perfectly whipped cream cheese frosting. It was sweet, but ridiculously delicious! And finally a brioche maple donut for the road, that was giant, fluffy and yummy. This place deserves all the stars! They are well staffed, with super friendly + efficient workers, a chef (or two) that truly know their craft, and an overall vibe that is welcoming, hospitable and beyond satisfying. I highly recommend making it a point to drop in here if you're passing through.... I'm sure glad I did!! read more

They also have breakfast sandwiches and lunch items which we didn't get a chance to try. The employees are super friendly and helpful, definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! It's a shame Edison keeps shutting off the power to the local businesses that rely on tourism to feed their families! We were here for a weekend and the power was off for 4 hrs on saturday and 7 hours on sunday. I don't know how they'll survive if this continues... read more

They serve breakfast food as well as lunch sandwiches etc. There has been a line both times we have been here but worth the wait. The prices are fair. You can eat in or take out. They serve Peet's coffee. It's a cute place across the street from Circle Park. If you are ever in Kernville, you need to visit this establishment.
