    The work table

Hidden gem sorta hole in the wall. Forgot how we found this place but it was a little far from us. About 75 miles but well worth it if we're in the Bakersfield area. Ladies were in the kitchen making fresh pastries and rolls. Tried several of them with free samples that were awesome. I think we bought every type there on the display. A few tables in there if you want to sit and eat but mostly a smash and grab type of place. Take home or eat in the car like we did. I think we enjoyed the pastry so much we finished most of them before we even got home If you're looking for unique items not found in a regular pastry or donut shop, this is the place. Not only were they fresh and tasty, but very very affordable. Wish they were not so far but highly recommend.

Sweetest people ever! I came in and said I hadn't had some things there before and they gave me a whole tray of freshly baked goods for me to just try and enjoy . They clearly are just serving because they love what they do. Their love and kindness is as delicious as their baked goods. It'll warm your heart!

Food, always freshly made. I believe they're still a cash only business. Definitely worth the drive to Delano. You have to try everything at least once there but know they open early and close early. Don't show up with a gluten allergy because this place is chock full of gluten. I think I've had almost everything but if you show up with an open mind and ask the people working there what to try they might hook you up with a whole tray filled with options and samples. Family owned joint has been on multiple television shows and is a must try if you are willing to make the trip to Delano. Grab a coffee and then head in and grab 2-3 bags of goodies is the best way to try this place but don't forget it's CASH ONLY.

    Ensaymada

I have always heard my workmates say all good things about this place. Unfortunately, I live 30 minutes away so I really haven't tried anything until the day that I worked in Delano. And I was not aware that they only accept cash until I entered their door. Upon going inside, you can smell freshly baked bread and all the smiling titas greeting me like I am back home in the Philippines. I remember hiding emergency cash in the car so I got it and when I went back inside, I told the tita by the counter that I'd take whatever my $20 cash could get me. So she started bagging an assortment of bread - pandesal, ensaymada, pan de coco, lady fingers, ube bread - all 4 paper bags full. Then, another tita drops off a whole bag of pandesal and says it's for free. Then, just before I leave, they add another whole bag of freshly baked pandesal for free! Everything we've tasted were baked fresh and reminds you of 6am mornings back in the Philippines. My usually picky daughter ate four lady fingers in one sitting. If I happen to go back here, I'd definitely make sure I stock up on loads of lady fingers! And will remember to bring cash next time!

    Lumpia.

I bought a dozen lumpia's there was little to no filling inside them, it was just rolled fried no flavor, no chicken, shrimp or any evidence of even cabbage or sprouts My daughter got two of the petals and loved rhose.

I would love to gatekeep this amazing filipino bakery but everyone deserves to feel the warmth of not just the goodies, but from the caring workers. The environment is so friendly, it feels like you are literally in the Philippines. It is small and their decor showcases how involved they are in their community. The pandesal was TO DIE FOR! It is soo good for such a good price. The lady fingers were so soft and warm. The smell of walking up to the bakery is hypnotizing, so be warned. It is a must visit when driving to and from South CA

    Pineapple Bread

Warning - this place is cash only! This tiny shop looks like it's inside of an abandoned little gas station, so it would be really easy to miss if you didn't know it was here. A lot of people came in and out so it seemed like a popular stop off the freeway. I tried their ube cream cheese bread & their hot dog buns. The bread itself was so soft! I also got what I thought was senorita bread but turned out to be some kind of pineapple filled bread. The bread tasted great but I didn't finish it since I don't like pineapple..wish I knew that when I picked it out! They had so many yummy things in the display case, it would be nice if they had everything labeled so we don't have to ask what each item is. Don't expect anything fancy, just your hole in the wall Filipino bakery, good option for some fresh baked goods in the morning but wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Come early for the delightful treats

Baked fresh daily, delightfully delicious, and superb service with a smile. There is no wonderment why this bake shop is loved and a favorite of locals and friends from afar. We among many travel here and often, both as a destination and a snack stop. Stop by for a sweet treat.

It's probably a good thing that this is in Delano and not in Bakersfield because I would be there all the time. It's nice to see Fil Bake Shop expanding. D'Cafe is fairly new, but the baker knows her stuff. I've had my fair share of goodies from here and I think my favorite is a toss up between the crinkle cookies and the newer item which is the empanada ube hayala. The empanada texture is more like bread versus an empanada to me, but the filling is what makes it really addicting. Everyone in Delano has had the lady fingers at Fil Bake Shop, but has everyone in Delano tried the ube lady fingers from D'Cafe? If you have not tried it yet, then you better get it before it's sold out for the day. Just when you thought the lady fingers was the best thing, they one upped it with ube. FYI if you've never been here before then just know they only take cash. Parking is a little bit crazy, but when you get to the front of the line then you'll be greeted by friendly aunties and uncles waiting to serve you warm/freshly baked bread.

They told me cakes for today would not be ready until 1pm, I asked if I could preorder one and they also told me no. I thought that was odd because that would be a guaranteed sale but I didn't say anything else. I left, went home, my husband then called and asked and they said they had ready made cakes available today and the person who answered told him there were cakes available NOW to pick up. He explained to the person on the phone that I had just left the bakery and they told me there were none available. The person on the phone was very nice and said that they wouldn't know why they would tell me that I couldn't preorder or buy the cakes that were available, but that there were Cakes there and I could go back and pick it up. When I was at the bakery I didn't ask for a specific flavor, I just wanted a cake that was available. The person who I spoke to in person spoke perfect English as well so it was not a lack in communication. Extremely disappointed, myself and my family will not be returning ever again. Although i wanted to return to pick up the cake it just felt like a waste of time after I had just been there and secondly i already felt bad over a situation that I clearly know was not a miscommunication. We live in a small community where we should support local businesses but incidents like this make it very difficult to.

Spent $40+ on some garbage. Sorry to say but this was truly garbage. Fried mushrooms come with a baby amount for 5.99. Zucchini is $1.20 each im guessing since I only got 5 pieces that are small. Burrito is literally a hard burnt overly cooked tortilla. And the best thing here is the jalapeño poppers because its most likely store bought. The oil used was the same oil they fry everything and it is probably a month old oil. I ordered this right before lunch time today. Milk shake was also horrible, think they used 1 scoop of ice cream and the rest was mostly milk. This place should be ashamed of themselves. Very poor quality food and probably should be closed down.
