Half bowl of soup for $7.00 dollars. I'm not happy.
    John B.

Service is not good, when I have an issue of a bowl of soup at $7.00 , that's only half full, that's bad business, and the waitress wont help you solve this problem. I wont be buying a half bowl of soup here ever again for $7.00 dollars. The waitress name is Dana, Dana would not even attempt to correct the problem, her attitude was "Oh Well" she is not good for this business .

Had a great lunch at the Dam Korner cafe in Lake Isabella Ca. Chrisy our waitress greeted us as we entered. It was busy, lots of locals and a few construction workers all were chowing down. A couple of TVs were playing off road racing. They have a chalk board with the daily specials. All the waitresses were friendly and busy they made sure your drinks were kept full. We ordered a BLT and a Patty Melt with fry's. It didn't take long before they were brought out. Both were served with ranch for dipping my Patty Melt was thick moist just the right amount of grilled onions and Swiss, generous amounts of fry's were lightly salted and excellent. My buddies BLT on lightly toasted sourdough didn't last long, thick bacon, it was impressive. The Dam Korner is a clean fun place to enjoy a delicious meal I was so hungry I forgot to get a shot of my dish Stop in you'll be glad you did

This place is located in a small town called Lake Isabella, I had taken three people here to have a late breakfast/lunch. My friends wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs over easy with country potatoes and toast, she only ate half and brought the rest home for later. Her Aunt had an omelette and my friend Lucas had a cheeseburger and I had the special that day of fish and chips. I ate the fish and I am not much on eating a lot of fries, plus I wasn't that hungry to begin with and just brought them there to socialize, plus I wanted to see what the place was like. It is basically a cafe with really nice people working there, there is plenty of seating there and the booths are big enough to seat three people on each side. The waitress and the helper was constantly cleaning so this is a good thing. The parking lot is fairly large, but I think there is another business there that might share the parking lot. I recommend this place to others.

This is a cute small town diner with great food, people, and coffee! Will definately come back next time we're in town.

My family and I stopped in for some lunch on our way to Kern. Great service and good food. Service was fast and accurate. We will definitely stop here again.

Drive out to Lake Isabella for breakfast today and tried Dam Korner! So glad we did. Really cute interior and exterior! Really felt the small lake town vibe! Service was great, very friendly and attentive! Food was great and portions were big. Prices are very reasonable as well. Very clean restaurant which is very important to us. We will definitely be back! I ordered the bacon and eggs and my partner ordered the DK breakfast combo! Both really good! There is also a sports bar in the back that looked really awesome, we will definitely have to return to check it out!

Roast Beef Texas melt and house made potato salad. Quite tasty

Nice pit stop in Lake Isabella. Generous portions. House made potato salad yummy. Friendly servers. Nice photos of Isabella's history decorate the walls. The sandwich's and burgers we have had, have all been really good. Last visit for me was a Texas melt with roast beef, green chiles and cheese with the potato salad. Hubby had a very nice Ruben with lovely mild sauerkraut and corn beef with the crispy delicious onion rings. Both sandwiches were served on nicely toasted bread. They have a good selection of beers if you want to wash of the trail dust or cool yourself down on a warm day.

Great diner! Our server was Tonie - she was friendly and accommodating. Our food came less than 10 minutes after we ordered. It was hot and delicious. I had a large biscuits and gravy and my husband had a regular French toast. Again, both were very tasty. We will definitely be coming back when we're in the area and I suggest you do as well!

My husband and I moved here recently and after a night of stacking a cord of wood, we woke up sore and hungry! Dam Korner has their full breakfast and lunch menus available in the early morning, so we both went with bacon cheeseburgers and extra crispy fries. The burger was huge and had a perfectly seasoned handmade patty, thick bacon, cheese and all the fixins on a brioche bun. The fries came out hot and crispy! The service was stellar and the food came out quickly. Very impressed with this place!

Standard diner fare. Decent, but not remarkable. I had the eggs Benedict. One egg was overcooked. One was right. Hollandaise was ok. Home fries were crunchy and flavorful. Service was friendly, but the food came out slow.

After driving in to town from Los Angeles, I told my husband I wanted to grab a couple of coffees before going to his office, but I wanted to support a small shop instead of going in the the grocery store where they have a coffee chain kiosk inside. I believe in supporting small business! We had tried to visit Old Isabella Coffee twice before, but it was later in the afternoon and they were closed. I decided to give them a pass and try again since it's earlier. But today, we arrived before 1pm and parked. I went up the stairs to their entry door and it seemed very dark inside. The door was locked, and only then did I realize the blinds were closed. I checked the posted hours and they close at 1pm daily, but apparently they closed early on this day. A Friday, in a town that often leans on "weekenders" for increased business volume. While looking for the posted hours I saw the very friendly sign which shows a revolver pointing forward so you can look down the barrel of the gun and they proudly announce that there's nothing inside worth dying for. How warm and inviting! Well I, for one, was really looking forward to an amazing coffee beverage "to die for".. but now I know this won't be my place locally. I've tried 3 times and found myself alone at their place of business. In retrospect, the 3 ladies at the Starbucks inside the Vons store had a LINE of people waiting to buy coffee, snacks and lunch. As I joined the line, I casually said "I guess this is the place for great coffees in town!" and two of the guys in line said "they're reliably open, the service is great and have decent hours during the day". They were wearing yellow vests, maybe guys working on the street improvements or employees from SCE? If i owned a small business in a small town, i would definitely be pandering to just this type of customer. Extend operating hours, offer discounts to these contractors to bring them in daily! The guys said they're at Starbucks more than once a day, every day. That's a lot of opportunity lost to the little, local guy. So while I'm not usually a Starbucks person, when in KRV apparently they will be my go-to from now on. I tried to support local, but wasn't getting the support in return.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. My daughter had a "Love Potion" sparkling dragon fruit lemonade which she loved as well. They offer food and pastries and the selection is abundant.
