The waitresses are great. My boyfriend and I come here all the time. The food is yummy.

On our way to Lake Isabella from Remington Hot Springs, we were hungry and looking for a place to eat. We stopped at a corner store to ask for a recommendation, and the owner suggested Dam Korner Cafe--so we decided to give it a try. It was around 3 p.m. when we arrived, and the place was completely empty. For a moment, we weren't even sure where the staff was! Eventually, someone pointed us to the right side of the restaurant. We asked if they served breakfast all day, but the server told us it ended at 3 p.m.--just our luck. We ended up ordering the Salisbury steak with a side of cheese broccoli soup, fish tacos, and a sirloin steak. The soup came out first. It was thick and salty--honestly too salty for me, but my friend actually enjoyed it. The entrées arrived soon after, and the portions were generous. The Salisbury steak came with a thick mushroom gravy and was actually pretty decent. The sirloin steak was cooked more on the well-done side, even though we asked for medium, but I didn't mind too much. Unfortunately, the fish tacos were underwhelming. The fish had no seasoning and was lacking in flavor overall. All in all, given the price, I was expecting a bit more in terms of quality. That said, we were all grateful for a hot meal after a long drive--it definitely hit the spot when we needed it. read more

Can't skip breakfast at the Dam Korner during our stays in lake Isabella. Service is always great, you're greeted right when you walk in and food comes out fairly quickly. Sundays can get busy, so be prepared, especially if it's a holiday weekend. The food is delicious and their pancakes are a must! They taste like your grandma made them. They're big, soft and super fluffy, top it with some butter, and it melts right in your mouth. If you're ever in Lake Isabella stop by and give them a try! read more

Service is not good, when I have an issue of a bowl of soup at $7.00 , that's only half full, that's bad business, and the waitress wont help you solve this problem. Had a great lunch at the Dam Korner cafe in Lake Isabella Ca. Chrisy our waitress greeted us as we entered. It was busy, lots of locals and a few construction workers all were chowing down. A couple of TVs were playing off road racing. They have a chalk board with the daily specials. All the waitresses were friendly and busy they made sure your drinks were kept full. We ordered a BLT and a Patty Melt with fry's. It didn't take long before they were brought out. Both were served with ranch for dipping my Patty Melt was thick moist just the right amount of grilled onions and Swiss, generous amounts of fry's were lightly salted and excellent. My buddies BLT on lightly toasted sourdough didn't last long, thick bacon, it was impressive. Went to the Dam Korner cafe on our way home from Arizona. We were looking for a breakfast diner - and would say that it delivered on that score. We both got eggs/meat/shredded hash browns and toast. Eggs were done perfectly (over medium, for some reason, isn't always easy for a cook to pull off). Sausage was fine...bacon a little greasy (underdone?). Hash browns were crispy. Service was good and friendly. Might go again if passing through (good street parking for an RV). Coffee was marginal (weak). Wouldn't order again. read more

This place is located in a small town called Lake Isabella, I had taken three people here to have a late breakfast/lunch. My friends wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs over easy with country potatoes and toast, she only ate half and brought the rest home for later. Her Aunt had an omelette and my friend Lucas had a cheeseburger and I had the special that day of fish and chips. I ate the fish and I am not much on eating a lot of fries, plus I wasn't that hungry to begin with and just brought them there to socialize, plus I wanted to see what the place was like. It is basically a cafe with really nice people working there, there is plenty of seating there and the booths are big enough to seat three people on each side. The waitress and the helper was constantly cleaning so this is a good thing. The parking lot is fairly large, but I think there is another business there that might share the parking lot. We went for easter breakfast the bill was $90 for 3 kids plates and 2 adult breakfast the food was barley cooked bell peppers and onion in the omlete were just chopped up and thrown in not grilled or cooked nothing just thrown in was very disappointing my daughter got raw bacon! Drive out to Lake Isabella for breakfast today and tried Dam Korner! So glad we did. Really cute interior and exterior! Really felt the small lake town vibe! Service was great, very friendly and attentive! Food was great and portions were big. Prices are very reasonable as well. Very clean restaurant which is very important to us. Nice pit stop in Lake Isabella. Generous portions. House made potato salad yummy. Friendly servers. Nice photos of Isabella's history decorate the walls. The sandwich's and burgers we have had, have all been really good. Last visit for me was a Texas melt with roast beef, green chiles and cheese with the potato salad. Hubby had a very nice Ruben with lovely mild sauerkraut and corn beef with the crispy delicious onion rings. Both sandwiches were served on nicely toasted bread. They have a good selection of beers if you want to wash of the trail dust or cool yourself down on a warm day. read more

We had a party of 7, and all had their personal favorites for lunch today. My son and husband feasted on the hot pastrami sandwiches, while two grandsons cleaned up chicken wrap sandwiches! My daughter-in-law enjoyed chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy and another grandson smacked down pancakes with biscuits and gravy. I however had the most delicious bowl of jalapeños with ham soup -- it sounded unusual, but oh how delicious and satisfying!!! I'd recommend it to anyone!!! My husband and I moved here recently and after a night of stacking a cord of wood, we woke up sore and hungry! Dam Korner has their full breakfast and lunch menus available in the early morning, so we both went with bacon cheeseburgers and extra crispy fries. The burger was huge and had a perfectly seasoned handmade patty, thick bacon, cheese and all the fixins on a brioche bun. The fries came out hot and crispy! This place hit the SPOT before our white water rafting trip! We got up early, packed our camping gear, and rushed over the Dam Korner to order their breakfast burrito and hash browns. The burrito came with fresh salsa while the hash browns were cooked perrrfectly, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service here feels like home. They servers are kind and warm. There are regulars who stroll in and are known by name. So glad we were able to eat here prior to our full day rafting trip. Can't wait to be back! Highly recommend. read more

The steak and eggs was horrible (Overcooked steak and undercooked potatoes) not to mention the pancakes and toast never made it to the table. The egg's Benedict was fine. Nothing to brag about. Total serve time once order placed was over 30 minutes to get our food. I don't know why they only have 1 waitress and three bussers. I could run a restaurant better than this. Hopefully in their days to come they'll sort it out as for know I'm staying away. They did give us two free beers and we didn't pay for the steak and eggs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! My first time here and I couldn't be more happy with the service, food & atmosphere. As soon as we got there we were greeted kindly and sat down right away. The entire place was super clean and comfortable. Our waitress was extremely sweet. We tried the breakfast omelette, pancakes, breakfast burrito, grilled cheese & cheese burger/fries.
