The Berwyn SEPTA Station like most on the Paoli/Thorndale line, is just off of 30/Lancaster Ave.
This station has an overpass to get you safely from one side of the rails to the other. They have a ramp to access this overpass, for wheelchairs, strollers, Rascals etc.
There is parking on both sides, HOWEVER, on the side along 30, parking is only for parking pass holders, NOT for paying by the day. There is a frame shop located in the station house building, which shares the lot with the pass holders along 30, but their spaces have special signs to reserve those spots.
There is a veterans' memorial for local soldiers adjacent to the station. (See my photos.)
This connects to bus route 106.
This stop is in Zone 3.
They do have a ticket office, but it is only open M-F 5:30am to 11:45am.
As you can see in my photo, there IS an handicap-accessible ramp at this station. However, if you are using it for a stroller, it most often leads to the quiet car, so moms, you'll need someone to help you hoist your stroller into the regular cars while you hold your kid and all your other stuff.
All in all this station is clean, reasonably safe, and well lit. I can't comment on parking availability for commuters because I went during off-peak hours for an excursion downtown. However the data on SEPTA's site tells me that there are 88 daily parking spots (across the rails from 30), with 10 available. The pre-paid parking pass holder lot is completely full.
If you're planning to visit someone in the Berwyn area, this stop is right across from popular restaurants, a brewery, and some magical bakeries! read more
