Best coffee in the D. Experts in coffee, cordiality, and chill. Martell is a coffee Guru, a shaman in modern wear, healing and reconnecting our community with the art and culture of coffee. What keeps me coming back to Sepia is the brilliance and hospitality of Head Roaster Martell Mason. And, the sophisticated and bold flavors chosen for the roasting collection. Their Dalia roast is the best cup of coffee i have ever had in my entire life. "It's just coffee; hot bean water..." a naive version of myself thought before my palate was delighted by the depth and richness of that very first cup. Time and time again i return to reassess, "was it really, that good?" And the answer is always YES. 'Twas like comprehending and resonating with the lyrics to a love song for the first time; or, that grateful feeling of warmth from the Sun after a long grey winter. The Sepia project is a privilege to have in this city. I've Always been greeted with warmth from the staff and a comfortable environment to stay and work, catch up with a friend, or simply just to sit, sip, enjoy and rejoy my cup of Black magic we call coffee.

Best chai in town

5/5 because they truly never disappoint when it comes to customer service always social and friendly . They use oak milk as a base which I truly love for the culture and health initiative. As a vegan I had to try the cranberry muffin which was delectable. Overall the best place to go work the aura and vibes are one of a kind

Cool merchandise.

Nice/cute store that specializes in fresh roasted in house coffee and made in Michigan merchandize…read moreand food. The business is tucked away in a strip mall sitting around the corner from the main road and is not readily obvious from the main road where you almost purposely have to be looking for it to see it. The business as mentioned in other reviews defiantately has the look and vibe of the rustic little touristy stores you see up north where I assume this is exactly what they are trying to achieve and makes this business a fun place to peruse. As the desire for a good cup of coffee is what brought me here, I ended up getting a cup of their medium roast Ethiopian coffee where the beans are roasted in house. my coffee was full bodied, nicely balanced with no harsh notes and quite tasty. An excellent cup of Joe at a very fair price of $3 for a large cup. Nice! One of the gals who worked there told me that if I liked that coffee than I would really like"Grunting Buck" medium roast where I purchased a 16 Oz whole bean bag for $16, Great price for any specialty coffee but one that was just fresh roasted is an amazing deal in my mind. For a small shop that has a lot of character there is a lot to look at and see here which is part of the interesting experience of shopping here. Staff is super friendly as they greet you as you walk in and offer assistance, if required, and then gives you space to shop at your own pace. Lastly there is a hot made to order food menu for breakfast and lunch to go along with their Barista operation. All in all, a superior small business that promotes made in Michigan that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Five stars in my book!

A true Michigan hidden-gem! The first time I heard about his store I decided to have breakfast…read moreacross the street at Dodge Park Coney Island, then shop at Salvation army and then go across the street to check out this place and to get a cup of coffee. I came on an off day so the place was closed. It looked small but I decided to come back the next weekend and check it out but they put out a sign saying closed : Out Hunting. Determined I came back for a 3rd attempt and boy am I glad I did! Inside it is much larger than the outside would make you to believe. There is so much to look at and consider purchasing. The best part is it is all high-quality Michigan-made! Also, bonus is that for your first visit you are treated to a free cup of fresh brewed coffee; I loved mine. I got a delicious chocolate/caramel candy bar from the U.P., some craft beer for when my friends visit and some locally harvested honey for my biscuits and tea. Score! There is art work all over the walls. I was amazed at the size of the stuffed turkey - it was massive. If you are into hunting, well look no more. There are gifts galore for the hunter in your life. I saw knives, deer scent spray, apparel, jerky, you name it, they have it. You can't help but feel proud to be a Michigander after visiting this shop. Shop local, support Michigan and hurry on down to Deer Camp Coffee Roasting and Outfitters.

This is the Coffee shop vibe you are looking for. I was able to come in and log into work as I ate…read moreand it was very chill. So there is street parking so keep that in mind. It is in front of a building that has a lot of other storefronts...but if you park anywhere on that block of Michigan Ave you will be within walking distance. They thrive in coffee and pastries but they do have a really good egg sandwich as well. They are super nice and friendly and will walk your food to your table. It's not a large shop so it may be crowded depending on what time you go. There is a countertop that seats 4, a long table ther seats about 10, and a few 2 top tables. If you have a large group this may not be for you. Alba egg sandie - this was an excellent sandwich. I wish it had sausage or bacon on it but regardless it's great. It's light and fluffy as well as airy and savory. It comes with the aioli/chive and this is what sets it off. But the egg is thick and the perfect size to boot.

Loveeee a quaint coffee shop! This place was super warm upon entry with a nice greeting from staff!…read moreThere was lots of different art displayed which made the place feel more inviting. A great selection of coffee and pastries! Food options as well. When I'm back in Detroit I will be coming back here! Drink: -Black Sesame Carmel Latte with oat milk. This is my favorite latte and I was so excited when I saw it on their menu!! The BEST one i've had thus far!!!
