This is the Coffee shop vibe you are looking for. I was able to come in and log into work as I ate and it was very chill. So there is street parking so keep that in mind. It is in front of a building that has a lot of other storefronts...but if you park anywhere on that block of Michigan Ave you will be within walking distance. They thrive in coffee and pastries but they do have a really good egg sandwich as well. They are super nice and friendly and will walk your food to your table. It's not a large shop so it may be crowded depending on what time you go. There is a countertop that seats 4, a long table ther seats about 10, and a few 2 top tables. If you have a large group this may not be for you. Alba egg sandie - this was an excellent sandwich. I wish it had sausage or bacon on it but regardless it's great. It's light and fluffy as well as airy and savory. It comes with the aioli/chive and this is what sets it off. But the egg is thick and the perfect size to boot. read more

Loveeee a quaint coffee shop! This place was super warm upon entry with a nice greeting from staff! There was lots of different art displayed which made the place feel more inviting. A great selection of coffee and pastries! Food options as well. When I'm back in Detroit I will be coming back here! Drink: -Black Sesame Carmel Latte with oat milk. Such a great, cozy cafe near Michigan Central! I got the Calamansi Matcha and absolutely LOVED it. As someone who's half Filipino, I always get excited for fusion finds (& the worker even started playing an old Filipino classic for my family and I). Drink: I went with a cortado and the cafe de olla. I asked for the cafe de olla to be iced and the barista kindly made it in a cold brew for me. Cortado was excellent. This was great coffee; I could use the typical words like "rich" and "full bodied" but I honestly don't think I know what that means. It was delicious coffee, let's leave it at that. The cold brew was great as well, not my favorite flavor but it was my first time ever trying flavors like piloncillo and canela. A very cute coffee shop right across the street from the famous Grandma Bob's Pizza. The interior design and decor are cozy and inviting, with a La Marzocco machine shining behind the plants. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, which added to the vibe. I tried the hot Café de Olla Latte (an oat milk latte with housemade spice), which was unique, nutty, and perfect for a colder day. We ordered two drinks with light ice and watch them stuff the cup with ice. I asked them to dump half the ice out, and they did. The barista then proceeded to add more ice again, and I asked them to dump some ice out. Why am I supervising how my drink is made? Can they just write, light ice or communicate? Cute little coffee shop with plenty of seating. Grabbed a latte and a matcha to try. Coffee had good flavour (had a bit more citrus taste to it) but the matcha wasn't as good as I expected (although I am a bit more picky with my matcha). Other than that, the experience was great and they close a bit later than the usual coffee shops I go to which is great. Service was quick too so I was in and out right away. Came in because I had found this cafe on here and thought the food and drinks looked good, particularly the egg sandwich. My goodness - better than I could have even imagined. The soufflé egg sandwich ... they blew it out of the water. I am usually underwhelmed when it comes to food items like that at most places. However, this was beyond perfect: texture, flavors, portion, everything. Ironically I vocalized that it changed my life and I somehow echoed what was already on the poster (I now am "someone" lolll). Alba coffee is a cute cafe located in the former Astro coffee space. I frequently visited Astro but this was my first time trying the new cafe. Upon walking in I was so sad to see the beautiful flower mural covered up, but I understand it's a new interior with their own aesthetic. My friend and I visited in the late afternoon and had london fog lattes and a pastry. The London fog is made from a premade concentrate which was pretty good. I would love to come back and try some of their coffee and more in house flavors! read more
